We're entering the smother era, thank you mr Gordon Ryan.
Not necessarily, a lot of people have been doing it ( my self included). But because of Gordon’s popularity he makes it wide spread. My favorite sequence body lock pass to side control to mount obtaining double unders to double head and arm to s- mount -> armbar or arm triangle choke to gift wrap -> chair sit back take.
@@haroutdemirjian8831 been a mount hipster since 2010. Can’t blame the kids for not knowing. Just glad the people are catching on.
@@hermanmelville3871 yeah same here these kids are so fortunate to have all this free content. Honestly didn’t start playing mount positions til purple belt lol blue belt was nothing but leg entanglements over and over, purple belt was all top game, now as brown I combine my leg attacks\entires to get top position (mount) and using mount to enter the legs. What’s your favorite sequence?
I mean its not like its havent been done before, we're just seeing it a little more cuz people saw what Gordon does with it, something new will come in fashion a year from now.
That how everyone used to roll in Brasil in the 90s.
Gotta say I'm impressed with Grout's ability to escape difficult positions
The game plan, as I understand it, was to make him continue doing escapes until he fatigued and got caught.
Legend says he escaped pre fight haircut just to keep the momentum.
Mount from Danahers team has never looked so devastating
🤣 dont know meregali is a Danaher BB
@@carloszambrano1997 he is training with Danaher now, especially the no-gi game.
@@carloszambrano1997 next to his name it says “new wave”, which is danahers gym
Being coached by John seems like a double xp boost
Mount, stabilize, control, exhaust, and submit.... Basic Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
We will soon probably see people going back to the basic mount defenses and escapes.
I needed to read this. So many times in the training room I’m quick to get mount and throw a sub that usually gets countered. What’s the rush?
Domination from start to finish.
Beautiful match. I was tense the whole time
Felt like I was watching my little cousin smother butter all over her toast
Would love to be able to hear what the coaches are saying a little better
Esse representa o verdadeiro Jiu-jitsu
That's a nice choke variation.
parabens Nicholas
When was this match?? Uploaded 7 days ago but when was actual match? So many uploaders don’t put the date in description to try and trick me.
Death squad had to bust up or there would be nobody to fight at the top levels, just teammates.
GREAT MATCH BECAUSE SOMEBODY WAS SUBMITTED NO FOOT FETISH STUFF HERE BOYS
merengali one of the gi goats, is nowhere close to gordon's level... crazy
Gordon Ryan one of the no gi goats, is nowhere close to Meregali's level (in the gi)... crazy
Two completely different sports my guy
#1. No one considers Meregali on of the gi "goats".
#2. How about we see what Gordon's level is in the gi? He's been talking about it long enough. At least Meregali is willing to step outside of his comfort zone.
What is the name of that takedown?
Seeing the match Mergali will have tough time with top ranked opponents especially if they are more leg lock oriented
Looks just like Ryan's gane
Dude. Who else saw a figure 4 leg lock? I'd die if someone pulled a win with an old school WWF wrestling move 😅🤣😅🤣😆
i use the figure 4 & the boston crab all the time; for no reason, they are NOT good subs.
@@LIONTAMER3D Danaher mentions the Boston crab a bunch in his instructionals. Just be careful with your partners, it looks so bad for their spine.
@@stephenm3470 it's bad for their soul -.-
@@LIONTAMER3D ha haha.
@@stephenm3470 it's no laughing matter: all hopes, dreams, and aspirations expire when the Boston Crab elicits a tap from you; they just DO
bro aint no way he is 26
You’re getting old aren’t you
Bruh us 1996 babies are destined for greatness no matter what we do 😏 The chosen generation
Lmao jk
isnt it weird they announce who the favoured person is? like out loud? seems weird. "like yea blue, you gunna lose forsure" hearing that mid match would suck
Nahhhh
I'm retiring if this happens to me for months at a time.
They are completely feeding him.. call him the new suga .
its literally his 2nd no gi match ever. and breylor got top 8 at west coast trials so what are u saying?
man it cannot be serious that Danaher coaches ppl from corner by talking. jesus h christ, how does he not shout things?
Passeou
I'm not sure I like the breast smothering technique....
At least as far as jujitsu trends go, anyway
Finally no-gi Jui-Jitsu is heading away from all this one trick Beta butt-scoot to leg lock only shit which was frankly embarrassing for our sport and miserable to watch. Thank god for these new Innovators showing how important it is to be well rounded and decent on the feet.
Leglocks only dominated because they're easy to enter into and the brazilians were too prideful to train it, and learn the defenses. Now that they're more popular and people know how to defend, the game evolves again.
The leg lock era, regardless of how they were trained or attained (guard pull, butt scoot) took a very underutilized part of the game to a new level, and we're all more well rounded thanks to that
Lol, same team that started the leg lock game.
Lol beta butt scoot
@Josh Mahoney lol you know that..
This smothering shit isn't new. I had multiple ppl doing this to me in 2003 when I started bjj.
But the power of the media is incredible nowadays, one day Danaher will say that he invented jiujitsu and everybody will beleive it 😒😒😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nobody said it’s new
@@LOLLYPOPPE I didn't say any one did.
Grout was just giving him his arms to get smothered. Bump, get on your side, elbow knee escape, or at least try, you won't get smothered because you are on your side with space to breath. My coach has been doing this to us for years. Calls it Mother's Milk.
Easier said that done especially against someone as good as Meregali.
You will get your back taken if go to your side and that could be far worse.
11:58 how is this not considered an illegal knee reap???
Reaping is completely legal in this rule set man.
Very similar rule set to ADCC rules
If your foot crosses over center line across the hip is illegal reap.
the match was rigged
What?
Lol cope
