The movie came first on DVD in Australia i think, so i had to order it there. I watched the original on VHS on release and always loved the car and movie.

I have heard of VW engines butting out close to 300 HP... for about 5 minutes. Getting the HP is not necessarily hard but the engines don't last. That is what they don't tell you in "Fast and Furious".🤣

The 1984 Dodge M4S Turbo Interceptor is one of the hottest fast cars ever. I seen it on the Wraith half a billion times a day, i wish i could have a fast car just like that.
These guys really squeezed out so much power out of that 4 cylinder engine. Even with today's modern designs this car holds it's own. This will always be my dream car.
I showed this movie to my 6 year old nephew, and he was so into it but Midway through the movie it was time for him bedtime, next day he acted sick just to stay home and finish the movie.
As much as I love Honda for my favorite car the NSX! I’m gonna say this is definitely where they got their design from. Almost identical. This was one of my favorite films from the 80’s and my favorite Charlie sheen film.
What a rare find and good restoration job.. I remember this movie when I was a kid.. the exhaust note was hilarious, in the movie.. However, this is one of those iconic 80s cars, much like the Coyote from Hardcastle & McCormick, Magnums? 308 , etc.. Really

I remember being in High School when I saw the movie The Wraith w/ Charlie Sheen, and me and my cousin absolutely loved the turbo interceptor and wanted to actually see one, thanks for the video and taking me back in time.
I saw that movie as a kid back in the days. The turbo interceptor is one of the sexiest cars ever in my eyes. Love the story of finding and rebuiding it. So cool to see that thing more close up and in detail.
Always loved mopar and even more now after finding out of this vehicle, glad they thought of it and restored it and I'm glad to have watched the video...

Something tells me someone involved with the development of the Jaguar XJ220 was a fan of this.......it’s virtually identical. Uses a V6 twin turbo and for quite some time was the fastest car in the world in the early 90’s. Have a gander, it really is THAT MUCH like this car.... Great video, loved it. In the early 90s I had a chance to buy this car. The owner was advertising it in the paper in Tucson. It was the vw version but still was cool. At the time he was selling it for 3500. Wish I would of got it. But I was to late someone else got it
I had an 86' SHELBY CHARGER I bought factory direct while stationed in W Germany. My parents picked it up for me. It had the Turbo 2.2 w/Bosch MPFI w/a 5 spd trans. For a FWD 4cyl it was a pretty sick little car. I blew the doors off a 350 4bbl Chevy p/u going over 120mph and it wasn't even breathing hard while I was stationed at Ft. Bliss. The guy followed me into the parking lot at my billets & asked me how fast I was going cause his speedo only went to 115mph & I was pulling away from him. I told him I didn't have it floored and popped the hood. He turned a sick shade of green and said "NO FUCKING WAY!". LOL And that wasn't even the GLHS model that was intercooled w/the variable vane Turbo.
WHY in the hell was this car not put into production........... they must have been blind, this is a beautiful car with so much potential just look at it now it still looks like it's from the future please bring it back. love it from the UK.
I remember watching the Wraith and was always curious why it had a Chrysler symbol on it lol It was crazy in the pre internet era. It was so hard to research stuff so like my friends and I all had our weird theories why. You couldn't just hop online and instantly find out.
Bloody hell the rear looks like a jaguar xj220, especially with the alloys. 4:50 the whole side profile they look like cousins. Apart from the front which tapers off shorter. It's great what engineers come up with when left to their own.

The dodge stealth/3000GT was already knight rider and judging by these body lines and the fact Chrysler/Mitsubishi partnership was current. Yeah, already done.
as cool as this car is, noooooo! K.I.T.T. was the Trans Am. Its just how it was meant to be. Lol.. K.I.T.T will always be etched in my memories as possibly the most incredible TV/Movie car from my childhood. I seriously doubt the appeal of Knight Rider would be been as great if K.I.T.T. was anything other than a Trans Am. When they revamped Knight Rider in an attempt to bring it back with Val Kilmer voicing a so called K.I.T.T. in a figgin POS Mustang I almost soiled my pants and I wanted to cry out of sheer anger. and plus now since most new cars can talk to you then Knight Rider kind of lost its appeal. the whole idea of Knight Rider was a talking car which in the 80s when the show came out that was a big deal it was truly a thing of the future and now that it is the future it's kind of lost its appeal.
The Wraith is one of my all time favorite movies ever!! The bike sounded just like the car but the car was super sexy, especially when they raised the back hatch up and showed the engine with all the electricity flowing around it!!! I'd LOVE to have a fully functional version of that car!! Also, there is a silver model that Jaguar put out that looks like an extended version of this Dodge that I've always liked too. It even has the same rims as the silver one on the trailer, the corvette looking rims.

At least one of the movie cars had different door mountings. The car shown in this video has Ferrari style doors. In the movie, the scene where Jake meets Carrie near the end of the movie, the driver's side door opens gullwing style. Once his "revenge suit" phases out, Jake flexes his neck and says, "I can't do THAT again." Just before that moment is when you see the door swing upwards, gullwing style.
I've not seen that movie in years! I had a crush on the girl & fell in love with the car😊, glad to see/hear about the restoration of the most interesting cars I've ever seen. I think that if by chance you were able to make copies or kits you could make some cool $$$$.
Interesting. I lived in Phoenix when they filmed that movie and saw that trailer and tractor sitting in a truck stop. I later read that they prototype car was used in the movie for some still shots and scenes but I didn't know they had replicas. Underrated movie. Still one I watch from time to time.

800hp is decent, but nothing that hasn't been done before. BMW did so in the 80's with 1.5 Liters. turbocharged making nearly 1500hp at the crank
