I never talked back, never told them what they were doing wrong, never complained that they were never there to see all my medals that i was earning for them and not for myself... I've been in so many academies and got so many awards, they were never there to see them. So one day sitting i my room, I realized that everything I have been doing for 27 years, was for others and not for me. So I grabbed my laptop, texted both my parents everything that I've been keeping inside me, could barely type from the tears. It wasnt tears of sadness for what im typing, it was the tears of liberation. I decided to not speak with my dad ever again and it was indeed my best decision ever. I now live for myself and everything I do is because I wanna impress myself. Nobody else, no more.
you can live for yourself and think only about yourself without cutting the ties with your dad. Whatever he did or didnt do he stays your dad. He will be accountable in the day of judgement for his unfairness and its not up to us to judge them or punish them. you can keep conversations short and respectful ex hi how are you in a phone call or short visit every now and then and thats all about it.
love is unconditional and I bet when you think of your parents and not talking to them it still doesn't feel good. What if they feel bad and it's to painfull to tell you. What if they feel embarresed and ashamed? No matter what I bet they would love to see you. And text ? How do you even know they received it? Don't close the book on them yet. Love is unconditional and I think they love you more than you think. Two wrongs do not make a right. Don't abandon them like you feel they abandon you.

There are lots of elderly people who would love the company and your time. I find that there is so much to learn from them. We have adopted a elderly set of neighbors and we spoil them! Makes my heart happy! They give us back so much more!

Personally I’ve been thru hell and back with my parents. I was a good girl and hardworking and took care of my severely handicapped sister my whole life.. but I was mentally and emotionally abused. Still dealt with the abuse right into adulthood and went from that into anabusive marriage for 17 years. Life hasn’t been so good to me but granny your beautiful and hearing about your life is a comfort to me and let’s me know that all the years of abuse I didn’t have to take. I thought I did... ty

My mother gave me away at birth. I found her when I was 25. I was her second of four, she kept all but me. She didn't want me any more at 25 than she did the day I was born. I'd give so much to have a mother/grandmother like Doris was. Gio, you are blessed.
I'm sorry but know that as a soul you come in to be with the mom that raised you, God has to use someone else's birth canal sometimes to bring you in. Your loved always, we all are by those on the other side. Life here is for temporary lessons. I had birth parents raise me that didn't want to even talk to me. My love I got was from my 2 grannies. Otherwise I would never have known love. You are loved know that, noone ever comes to earth as a mistake. All souls are planned to come in from the other side. Hugs xxxoo

Thank you Gran. Needed to see this today. Thank you Grandson for sharing your beautiful wonderful Gran. I lost my last Granny this year. I'm 44, so lucky to have her as long as I did. At one point I had 10 Grandparents! 4 of them where Great Grandparents who where with us until I was in my late teens. Miss them every day. They where all my best friends. I'm grateful every day I had them in my life. Grandparents are the best.
I can’t imagine not being in contact with my mother. She is so amazing. I can’t imagine not being in contact with your gran if she was mine. She has so many interesting stories. Such a deep life.

I have to give him credit, he did a pretty good job, but God. Wow! He turns our mourning into dancing. All we have to do is see it in our heart. I'm a girly girl. I love how Gran treats herself. She maintains a beauty that nobody can deny. I have to admit that I am a little jealous of her grandson's affection. But her testimony is food for my future. Today is your day. Accept thoughts of reconciliation and reject fearful thoughts of continued separation. I'm telling you, your future is so very bright. I'm still on the way ..its not easy, but attainable. I went through loneliness and isolation and depression. I learned to see a better future. You will too. God bless you. It's not over until we say so. Yay! We will never say so!

This will be treasured for generations. Video documentation' of who there Great gram, great uncle Gio etc. Grandma has started a new life at 94 all because of YOU Gio! its so beautiful to watch. And her sense of style. She knows how to put it all together, that sweater makes her look angelic.
If you disliked somebody who was a friend because they did something to hurt you, you would not put up with it so you would distance yourself from them. So why not do the same with a family member too. Grandma and Grandson have such a beautiful relationship which we are blessed to witness.

My mother gave me away at birth. I found her when I was 25. I was her second of four, she kept all but me. She didn't want me any more at 25 than she did the day I was born.

I had birth parents raise me that didn't want to even talk to me. My love I got was from my 2 grannies. Otherwise I would never have known love.

I lost my last Granny this year. I'm 44, so lucky to have her as long as I did.
At one point I had 10 Grandparents!
4 of them where Great Grandparents who where with us until I was in my late teens.
Miss them every day. They where all my best friends. I'm grateful every day I had them in my life.

But seeing your beautiful face making me smile and laugh brings such joy to me i can't explain it thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'm so sorry to hear of your heartbreak. Twenty years ago I divorced my abusive husband. He tried to steal my income, my children, my reputation...my future. I have to give him credit, he did a pretty good job, but God. Wow! He turns our mourning into dancing. All we have to do is see it in our heart. I'm a girly girl. I love how Gran treats herself. She maintains a beauty that nobody can deny. I have to admit that I am a little jealous of her grandson's affection. But her testimony is food for my future. Today is your day. Accept thoughts of reconciliation and reject fearful thoughts of continued separation. I'm telling you, your future is so very bright. I'm still on the way ..its not easy, but attainable. I went through loneliness and isolation and depression. I learned to see a better future. You will too. God bless you. It's not over until we say so. Yay! We will never say so!
Forgiveness, understanding and coping with trauma take time. Unfortunately too, it’s ultimately up to the individual to make that change.

The way you love each other is beautiful. Gio, is so sensitive, and bursting at the seams, to share his love. I've never seen a man, be as vocal about it, and to put it out there. This will be treasured for generations. Video documentation' of who there Great gram, great uncle Gio etc. Grandma has started a new life at 94 all because of YOU Gio! its so beautiful to watch. And her sense of style. She knows how to put it all together, that sweater makes her look angelic.
If you disliked somebody who was a friend because they did something to hurt you, you would not put up with it so you would distance yourself from them. So why not do the same with a family member too. Grandma and Grandson have such a beautiful relationship which we are blessed to witness.
This was so touching. She is such special person. I can’t imagine not calling and seeing her if she was my grandmother. The bond between you both is evident. Makes me miss my precious grandmother.
