Sometimes I just stuff a rag in the silencers but nowhere near enough water gets in them to do any damage. I run the quad for a bit after to burn off any water as well.
I appreciate the good intentions. Unfortunately including every detail is almost impossible. I tried to include what I could. Can't always hit everything though.
The silencer packing is basically steel wool. It will be fine. Promise. Only a splash of water got in each one and I run the quad after which evaporates it. Don't believe everything you read on the forums brother.
I thought you had fiberglass packing. Which will get hard as hell if it gets soaked over and over. I just repacked mine and it was a pain to get out of the end cap, on a FMF turbinecore 2, from getting washed without a plug. I am a member of TRX250r.net and and I believe those guys. I just don't want somebody to watch this and think it ok to get water in their silencer when its not the right thing to do. I am nobody. Just good intentions applied
Just thought of something, tip it up before you wash it that way no possibility of getting water in the exhaust. I dry mine off with a leaf blower, then towel dry. A must in the Northeast
I currently own a 2001 Banshee and so far so good. I've always taken care of my stuff, synthetic oils, fuel stabilizer and common sense will make it last. Whenever I purchase any used motorized device I do a thorough maintenance job on it. Change all fluids/ flush out the carbs/ then go from there. One of my buddies sickens me he owns a 2007 yamaha kodiak and still has not changed the oil on it yet!!! Wtf apparently a $ 15 oil change cost less than a new engine in his mind.
Im new to clutch riding and theres a banshee that got my eye, i want something that dosen't cost me to much of maintenance and thats going to be reliable because i ride 2 hours away from home and i don't want to have to walk home. I purchased a 400ex but i really dont like the feeling im looking for a banshee or a ltr 450r if you could help choose ! Thanks.
xXxPROGAMERxXx00 Reliability strictly comes down to maintenance. They are machines and all machines eventually break. However keeping a close eye on important factors will minimize the chance of you getting stranded. Banshee's are extremely reliable machines. Just make sure you mix the fuel properly and make sure there are no air leaks.
Make sure the bulbs are still good and see if there are broken pieces in them. Test the connection to make sure it isn't just the bulb. Also the switch could be going bad. Double check your grounds and wiring.

You should get a yfz450, fix it up and race in the Baja races down in mexico. Great video by the way! Really helped me out for my banshee

That has been a dream of mine since the fire Heuvos video came out. Unfortunately it is extremely expensive. I would absolutely love to do it though.
Dude water is not good for the silencer packing. Get some muffler plugs that's what there made for. Not trolling just trying to help. Good video.
Toomey?
Good video. I did not know about the shine product application.
Simple green is another option that works very well and is biodegradable.
you have a nice banshee mines is pretty nice too
Latrell Walker Thanks!
Would you sell the banshee ?
So nothing will happen to the carburetors getting them sprayed and wet ?
As long as water doesn't get inside the carbs they'll be fine.
thanks 4 the video
I've got a clean banshee Myself. I will do what you
Did. A soon as I dirty it. Lol.
+shallvo1982 XD

Dislike the suspension. Love how it's highly modifiable.
SparkysGarage I have stock suspension and it's rock hard.
I love the sound or but am scared of blowing it up every time I ride it
wheres the other vid?
whenever I lift my quad like that oil pours out how do I fix this
If its oil then you have a bad gasket. If its gas then its from your carb overflow tubes. Just turn your fuel off ;D
Get some elkas! :)
