Obviously, teaching English abroad is a great way to travel abroad and still have a job. This is what I did when I looked into teaching in the Dominican Republic. When I first wanted to go to Santo Domingo, my TEFL advisor told me I would basically only find volunteer opportunities in the Dominican Republic. Well, I'm glad I didn't listen to him, because I found a job, regardless. I also found that there were more opportunities to get paid teaching English in Santo Domingo, than what my advisor tried to tell me.
You can also google the words jobs in the Dominican Republic. I just saw this on Glassdoor.com for jobs in Santo Domingo. I hope this is a good link, if not, let me know.
