I literally saw this video thumbnail and said "they bertter not say Dominican republic is a cheap place to live". And it is at number 1! This is insane! Some apartments in DR especially in punta cana and santo domingo area are in the thousands per month! Its a very expensive country unless you go outside of the major cities and in the less inhabited poorer areas. The food cost more than USA, the apartments cost more, the cars cost more per type of car per pound. The clothes, electronics, fragrances, luxury goods, etc. all cost more than what ive seen in the usa.
As a missionary to HAITI the cost of living there is very low. You can rent a three room house for $200 a month. However most of the island has no electricity and you would have to buy a generator. Gas is around $5 a gallon. Also imported groceries sold in grocery stores are very expensive twice the cost of the US. Food bought in local markets are much cheaper. Transportation is relatively cheap. Having said all this unfortunately the country presently is run by gangs and very dangerous to live in .Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and most Haitians live on less than $1 a day. why compare to the US???? I wish you quoted figures per island for each utility instead of saying generally affordable or moderate, since affordability is subjective. If a caricom national never lived in the US, the information and the way it is presented would not be very helpful if comparing home island to the other islands. Perhaps consider a life in each island pros and cons video for future i.e language, minimum wage, infrastructure, education etc
My opinion is i was born in st croix usvi, and raise there moved to st thomas usvi, caribbean people already know how to live on the island because that's there home what's high to someway else outside the caribbean ii's not high i always tell people caribbean is a place to visit not lived .
