Can you see the mount when the tv is retracted all the way back against the wall?
The mount is visible with TVs smaller than 55", but will be fully covered when mounting 55" to 70" TVs.
Can this be installed upside down?
No, def not.
With no tv hung on it maybe.
It's possible, but not recommended. If installed upside down, the TV should be much lighter than the 77lb weight limit.
So how about a little more on leveling?
For leveling, the TV will have to be temporarily removed to access the 3 nuts holding the main TV support plate to the arm. This will allow the plate to rotate left/right a little, and once it's perfectly level, retighten the nuts and place the TV back on the mount.
