Man I wish I had these videos when I was peak anxiety and panic disorder. Eventually I just learned to accept it and understood that no you're not actually dying mid panic attack lol Luckily once you get to the acceptance part everything seems to get better. Still though, it would have been nice to have these two such soothing voices to guide it along at the time.

Thanks! Needed this today, for sure. This video provided me with reinforcement that circumstances and memories can trigger the part of my nervous system and brain that activates the anxiety in my lived experience. Journaling and spiritual autobiography/memoir in my 366 day scrapbook have helped me cleanse my brain and process unhelpful past lessons that cause stress for me. Having a religious practice provides a social context for healthy relationships and improved self talk. Knowing that I am gifted with an at-risk temperament resulting from childhood hypoxia helps me organize my lifestyle to participate and be of use to others. Thanks, PsychHub, for this informative video and educational YT community.

They get anxiety from unhealed cPTSD or PTSD. Most commonly from unhealed developmental trauma (in the case of cPTSD). Many things trigger the sympathetic nervous system and the fight-or-flight response. Things that wouldn’t trigger those who had healthy, loving, safe and connected caregivers growing up. The trick is learning to get the nervous system regulated, in parasympathetic mode, and to heal the past traumas like neglect, abuse, etc. Then create new neural pathways of people and the world being safe, through gentle exposure work with positive outcomes, and creating new beliefs. Affirmations, visualizations, finding evidence of the new more supportive and positive beliefs, etc. EMDR can also reprogram the nervous system to go from sympathetic to parasympathetic around last traumatic events or future imagined events. It’s really all about regulating the nervous system and creating new neural pathways of positive associations with the triggers.

I am suffering from anxiety for more than a year. I think it's triggered by being late for a minute to work. My manager recorded it. Since then I started to look at the time constantly. Even some time I won't be late. I am still scared of being late.

I hope you are doing a lot better than before. This video has been helping me cope with my anxiety that I have been having for the past 2 weeks iam using her advice and I’m not telling my fears that those thoughts can not hurt or harm me physically or mentally I focus on happy thoughts and I do her breathing exercise a big part is prayer I been praying for others with the struggle especially the children and kids these kids shouldn’t be worried or have anxiety they should be having fun and enjoying being a kid I think that social media has been a big part of that there is too much violence and negativity on social media and I have really distanced myself from it in the last month. I pray that you are doing better. Maybe I’ll hear from you? Stay strong and change your thinking. 👍🙏💪

I hope you are doing better no kid should have to go through anxiety at such a young age! I’m 47 and I have been having bad anxiety for the past 2 weeks and after watching this video I’m using the tools and advice she gives like knowing your Fears and Facts and identifying them that they cannot hurt or harm you I have some of the most random thoughts and some physical things i do that can trigger it. As soon as I get those tingles and sweats I pray and go over the steps to rid myself from them and so far it’s working I’m using my thinking brain I tell myself that it will pass and I accept it as a false alarm and that the fear will not hurt me and I breathe slowly and most of the time it goes away really fast! Keep watching these videos over and over and write down The Fears and Facts and it will help you out it’s working for me! If you ever need to talk just respond and I’ll see it stay strong the best days of your life or ahead of you. Let’s kick anxiety’s ass! 👍🙏

Thank you for your comment. We want you to know that you’re not alone in how you feel. If you are in need of more support for your symptoms, the NAMI National Warmline Directory is a great resource, unlike a hotline for those in immediate crisis, warmlines provide early intervention with emotional support that can prevent a crisis - and a more costly 911 call or ER visit. The lines are typically free, confidential peer-support services staffed by volunteers or paid employees who have experienced mental health conditions themselves. For a list of where to find this service in your area please check out the link here -> www.nami.org/NAMI/media/NAMI-Media/BlogImageArchive/2020/NAMI-National-HelpLine-WarmLine-Directory-3-11-20.pdf
We hope you will continue to watch our videos to learn more about mental health, self-care, and ways to support others.

Watch her other videos she discusses some steps that’s I’m using right now . These videos are so helpful I been struggling with anxiety for a short 2 weeks but it’s feeling like it’s been a lot longer. I just accept m anxiety and tell my that my fears will not harm me or hurt me and I try to ease the false alarms and I don’t do what the anxiety tell me and that the facts give me the power and act on the facts and accept the anxiety and breathe and breathe and the last pray I do it everyday even when I’m starting to feel anxious I pray and do what the Dr in the videos says. Stay strong my friend. 🙏👍💪

I don't think I have any of these triggers. How about not getting adequate sleep? I've been diagnose with Obstuctional Sleep Apnea and I think I'm not getting deep REM sleep as much as I need. Can this trigger severe anxiety and panick attacks? My whole body goes numb and tingles and my heart races. I am on 2 pills i have to take 3 times a day. It's overwhelming. Soon, I'll get a cpap but its a bit of a wait for it right now.

Yeah recently I had got in a altercation with someone (twice in the same day) and after that happened, he rolled up on my brother with a BB gun and tried to scare him or threaten him or something but he didn’t get out the car. Now for some reason I think ima get rolled up on and people who seem suspicious, my mind automatically thinks there a threat and to just stay away but I know that’s not true, when actually talk to people, people are usually but ever since then I’ve had anxiety, like when the anxiety hits, I almost get a wave of worry through my body. I try to ignore it ig but idk everyday it is getting better but good video

She spent 3+ minutes telling us that anxiety is normal as humans tried to escape physical dangers (snakes, fire...etc). Duh!
Skip to minute 4 - Triggers: Genetic factors, chemical triggers, external stress, self talk or unrealistic demands, lessons the brain learned from past events.
