@@Hunter-Gray-LUV-Music . I’m super happy with them. I just ordered an ELAC 1225 Sub to complement the low end. And yes, I’m on a tight budget. I am using an old 1974 Marantz 2220B Receiver. I hooked up a turntable, a CD Player and a BT reciever. So far…It kicks ass!!!!! Is it a Mcintosh experience? No, but it sounds pretty damn good.👍🏼
A long but nice review, the problem with UA-cam reviews is that each reviewer might have the opposite opinion to the other, and some are always very positive with the items they review and this makes the review useless. I liked your approach and the points you decided to bring up, this review sounded valid and authentic to me. Thank you!.
Love the varied descriptions or explanations used as they expand a concept or sound signature well. Apologies for crossing fields, but your descriptions remind me of Kevin McCloud commentary from Grand Designs (BBC). His love of architecture and it's purpose shows as does your love of reviewing details brought forth by this equipment. Probably most important I suppose is the way it make you feel. He and his team have a few BAFTA awards so I hope you see this as praise. Keep up the good work. I might pair the SMSL VMV A-1 with this in fall for a near field/small room experience.
Thank you so much for the very high praise! I am honored by the comparison. And yes, I agree that what's most important is the way it makes you feel. I am looking for hifi gear and systems that can create an emotional response to the sound. That is really what I'm looking for. 100% agree with you about the SMSL VMV A1 in fact, I have an upcoming video on an affordable yet audiophile office hifi system pairing these two plus the WiiM Pro Plus (with the AKM DAC chip). I love this trio together! Such beautiful sound for so little money!!
Very nice review. I was particularly interested because I have these speakers on order. I took a chance since there weren't any reviews out when I decided to pull the trigger. Subscribed. Good luck with your channel!
Let us know what you think of them after you've had them for a week or so. I've been using a pair of Emotiva B2+ as mains in my main HT rig and I'm quite happy with them but I never intended for them to be end-game speakers in that role.
Great review. I bet these speakers would be killer in a home theater setup. And affordable. With these speakers and speakers like the debut reference 62, you are paying for top quality components and great sound not jewelry. Better components scale up and come alive when you add tubes to the mix. And my elac reference speakers definitely will go down to the low 30s, where pipe organs live. Now I only use the two elacs with no sub and I don't use the full home theater setup. I now get better sound with true 3D effects. Some of the elacs can do that with proper setup. You wouldn't believe it until you have heard it. Thanks for the review.
I agree with you about their value prop to build a home theater setup that's great value for money. I'm a big fan of what Elac is doing. Thanks for watching!
Tube amps “color” the sound and like you have mentioned they tend to distort at high volumes… that’s why electric guitar players love them. Thank you for sharing with us your experience of the new Elacs
I don't mean any disrespect with this comment/question. Should we really ask a 6.5-7 inch midbass driver to play 35hz? I suscribe to Erin's Audio Corner. He regularly shows how lower octaves cause higher distortion starting around 50-60hz, for these smaller drivers. I'm a big fan of 2.1 systems. Let the sub handle below 60-80hz. What do you think?
Very well explained, taking pains to put them in the proper prospective in terms of performance - sound quality vs price point compared to 3X pricier speakers. Very helpful for those considering to buy these wonderful sounding speakers priced at the budget / entry level. My question is how much better overall you think these Elac Debut 3.0 speakers are compared to Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 that I have just bought 2 days back from Amazon not realizing the better option of Debut 3.0? If Debut 3.0s are far superior to Debut 2.0s, I can still return the Debut 2.0s and get a pair of Debut 3s.within the 30 days return period under Amazon standard return policy.
Thanks for the compliment. My recommendation to you is it will be worth your effort to return and exchange for the Elac Debut 3.0 DB63-BK ... that is the model you want! IMHO. They really hit it out of the park with the 3.0 DB63-BK. I have to say the Elac naming convention is way too confusing!!! they have a Debut 3.0 DB53 AND a Debut 3.0 DB63 WAY TOO SIMILAR and just too easy to mix them up! It's the Elac Debut 3.0 DB63-BK model that you want!
@@Hunter-Gray-LUV-Music What I meant to say is, since the the elac dbr62 is better than this newer debut 3.0 6.3, why would anyone get this debut 3.0 6.3 over the polk r200, since the r200 are even a better buy than the elac dbr 6.2. Or even get the focal chora 806 and wharfedale 12.2 at discounted price. It just doesn't make sense when it is being made out to be supposedly the best speakers under $1000

You're sick just like everyone else in this crazy hobby ;) I'm 64 and I've been searching for end-game speakers in the $2000 and under category for two years and I've changed my mind more times than I care to remember. I really don't want to get anywhere close to $2000 as I would MUCH prefer to pay half that much at the most if need be. I've been using a pair of Emotiva B2+ for a little over a year in my HT rig and I really like them but like everything else in this hobby I'm looking for something better ;) I'm wondering if either of the tower versions of the ELAC 3.0's would fit my needs perfectly but there aren't reviews on either one as of yet.
@@hondaphan4172 I subscribe to your diagnosis. I really want Magnepan LRS but incrementally I'm going with Aperion planar super tweeters and a better set of stand mount speakers. It's a hobby and since I'm 70 in November, why not have toys.
