Andy - (another) great review! For those your are into military history/guns, def a must have! I have the non-European version, which means I can shoot it semi or full auto and the full-auto is the way to go - a ton of fun! Just stock up on plenty of BB's and C02, you are going to need a lot of both with this gun!

Brumhandle is a nickname for a standart c96 (no detachable magazin, but sptripper clip feeding) and, partially for a red 9 (same but 9x19). Another popular, model with a barrel 10 cm because of Versailles' treaty restrictions, was called also Bolo because they were sold to bolshewiks. M712 Schnellfeuer (fast shooter) is quite a rare model in the real history, but way better for bb feeding because of the detachable magazin.

I love this gun. Had mine for a few months now. When I was a kid, my uncle had a Luger from WW2 it originally belonged to a German soldier. He had the gun disabled for safety and I was captivated with this thing. He had the original holster as well. Since then I've been fascinated with firearms and their history,

@@milkapeismilky5464 better than them being destroyed completely, although you can own a luger as long as it was owned by a soldier who fought, but you need evidence to prove so and you have to keep it at a special shooting range at all times because 9mm is a commercially available round, but for this you already need a full uk gun license

Andy, I may be mistaken, but the 712 & the 96 where two different models. The 96 loaded through the top, with a clip. Also, for those interested: Ebay and other sources have the replica wooden stock/holster which fastens onto the back. Reasonable price, when compared to the wooden stocks that add onto the replica lugers. I have found this gun to be accurate, for its type. There is a weathered version of this available; but I chose to weather/age my own.

Firstly, thank you for the enjoyable and thorough review! I'm planning to purchase this for my 12-year-old, who has a keen interest in World war II firearms, as well as a budding interest in shooting.
    Rant warning:
I had no idea select fire/full auto air guns we're prohibited in the UK! Air guns? The balance rods for handguns are an abomination, but the prohibition of select fire air guns seems extremely overwrought. Gawd stone the crows. I'm extraordinarily proud of my Scottish heritage. I'm also exceptionally glad to be a US citizen, now and forever. Despite the dumpster fire that is the year of our Lord 2020, at least I can own a select fire BB gun. Oh wait, I can own a select fire actual gun too! Not that I could ever afford an m712, or one of the Chinese or Spanish variants, sadly. I'm proud to own a well used, non-matching serial number, but mechanically sound, interwar 7.65mm Bolo c96. It was the first collectible semi-automatic I purchased and remains my favorite.

The select fire/full auto version is legal here in the UK, just not in 4.5mm. I have the full auto in 6mm, Andy can’t sell it in his shop which is probably why he claims it’s illegal here. It’s perfectly legal to buy the (much nicer) 6mm version and it can be purchased online and delivered to your home with no formalities other than a declaration that you’re over 18.

Hi Andy, I have the UK version and I've noticed as the gas power drops off, the last half dozen or so BB's fire fully automatically.
I can only guess there's not enough power to force the trigger sear back into engagement so it just keeps bouncing away as long as you keep the trigger pressed. This has happened with every refill.
As it only occurs when the gas is almost spent I don't think the law would be too concerned, even up here in stricter Scotland where I needed an "Air Weapons Certificate" to own one.
Love the feel and quality of the construction.
PS Thanks for showing how to field strip, there was no mention in the instruction book I received with it.

nice video - as always. didn't know that semi-auto was not allowed in the uk too. here in germany the semi-auto-mode is only allowed for guns with very, very, very low energy-specs (softair-guns age 14). so, for all guns i would buy it is not allowed. the mauser c96 imho is really very special. it looks a bit like an alien amongst all those other guns of that era. it is that kinda extra ordinary that each collector has to have one in his (or her) gun cabinet.

Youre lucky, l recently paid £175 for a third hand gun which after paying both RFDs at each end cost me altogether £255, with wooden stock / holster, having said that after looking for a year n a half l would willingly have paid up to £400 maybe £500 as l needed it to complete mycollection of classic guns, also as the gas depletes it does fire full auto, which is great fun.

    Dear Andy
Can you advise ? I would like to start a collection of vintage Replica Air Pistols. I would not dream of owning a real firearm as they scare the poo out of me.
I don't even intend to shoot them. I would like to have a collection framed in cases, and mount them on the wall of my office/Den at home.
So can you advise me of the best companies to veiw their vintage replica collections. I watched your review of the remington 1857 single action. I liked that model. I would also like to add the colt peace maker. The KWC M712, as well as the webley service revolver, and a few more different models to display.
I feel that your knowlwdge in this feild would be of great help to me in starting my collection.

If you take apart the fire selection lever, you'll notice that the axis of the selection lever has a small section filed off at the "auto" position to make it non-auto. So you might accidentally make it full auto if you accidentally dropped a little blob of epoxy glue there and let it harden. By accident, of course...

The barrels likely loose, umarex are notorious for it l have 5 colt 45s peacemaker 5.5 inch barrels and 4 out of 5 have wobbly barrels, the gunshop l bought it from sent it back to be repaired my first one in silver, they sent it back tightened but then the action wouldnt work, the cylinder would not turn l sent it back they gave me a refund, tho l had wanted to keep the gun, next one l got barrel slightly wobbly but hardly noticiable ( until a few hundred pellets in then it was more noticible.) l got another 2 and both were loose l sent them back via the gunshop who had them returned unfixed the dealer had said the barrels being wobbly didnt affect the accuracy so therefore they werent obliged to fix them!!! And charged the gunshop for p&p both ways, unreal, next l saw a blued bb one in a different store and tried it out for wobbly barrel but it was tight as a nut and has stayed that way, touchwood,, months later l bought the Umarex Legends Luger PO8, brand new as were all my guns and after looking at it l bought it, only on arriving home did l think to check the barrel and indeed it was loose, and the gun being blowback its accuracy is very affected but l didnt really get it for targets just plinking and the look n feel of the gun which is beutiful but the second co2 bulb l put in completely blew out all the gas, the third fired 15 pellets the 4th 40 then shot the magazine out of its own accord the 5th bulb worked fine to second magazine bb refill then for 5 shots would only work by manually cocking it and then suddenly it fired full auto even tho its not meant to ( l quite enjoyed that bit to be honest lol ) so l ordered a second mag £60 ouch! And the gunshop owners having the first mag looked at, it actually looked used in the main frame of the mag it had worn off paint where it obviously had been used a good few times tho the gun itself was pristine, anyway the new mag made me even more suspicious of the first as it was not scraped or scratched, it shot 2x times 20 bbs and on the third load of ten right at the end instead of the action locking open when empty it just went phut and remained closed, l took out the mag and discovered something interesting the screw that tightens the bulb into the seal and opening projectile had come loose somehow with vibration and the bulb was now compketely loose in the mag hence the gas phutting out, but still im keeping it more for its aesthetic appeal than its shootability its agun l wanted from being a kid maaaaaaaaany years ago, too many lol, that and the broom handled mauser im waiting for are the only semi autos l like, my other guns are all revolvers aged over a hundred years in design, 4 colt 45s peacemakers, a Remington 1875, a Schofield m3 and a Webley 22, l did have 177 version 3 at least but everyone seals broke after just 2 or 3 bulbs l got refunds for all 3 because for some reason they couldnt be arsed to repair the seals but the 22 has fired 6 bulbs so far and seems ok again touchwood, but l dont fire it much anyway as it is not very accurate and the 22 pellets are twice the price of 177,s, ive had touble with all but 2 of my guns so far but l love them they look and feel great and when working right are great fun,, l just widh they would make a better gas del8very system or better seals as its nearly always the seals and nearly always quite soon after youve bought the gun and fired only a 2 or 3 bulbs, yes l put pelgun oil on but to be honest l think its a waste of time because the seaks still gone very quickly after purchase
