We're watching the others like a hawk. Rain again, which I'm typically grateful for, but this stuff thrives in wet. So I understand. Oh well. I'm canning steadily, first batch of tomato was a roasted salsa. I think we'll like it and it takes a lot to toms to make just 7 jars.
Hey Robin so lovely to see you! Your garden looks so lush and so productive! Wow! 🤩 The smile on your face with your bean and tomato harvest was so lovely to see 😁I hope your enjoying the harvest and preserving! I hope the Garleeks are doing good and I'll catch up with you real soon, all the best ❤️
TY Laura. We harvested almost anything blushing today, with heavy rain predicted overnight and tomorrow. A few downs but mostly ups! It's the point in the season you want to take your foot off the gas pedal but you have to be vigilant with the watching for problems that can rear their ugly heads. Just about to post a short weighing the biggest toms ...... just for fun. 🍅🍅🥰🥰🌱🌱❤❤
It's manic this time of the year. Even my neighbours say "no more beans!!!!" That Anaheim is 3x the size of the ones I grow LOL Glad to help with the tomato diagnosis - it's what we do as a community 🤗
I have more beans to harvest today and rain coming tomorrow. I think I'll make a batch of "Dilly Beans". It might just be my best ever cucumber year. Isn't that Anaheim just crazy loaded with fruits..... The Golden Hour are getting tastier. Brit bfast should be ready this week for a taste and 2 others as well. I have to can toms tomorrow the kitchen counter is loaded.🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
Awesome love the colour in the garden ❤. I have 1 pepper 🫑 so you have done great 👍. Gorgeous harvest 😅 even sweet. You’re always so very welcome 🤗. Oh lord I spent 2 hours pruning tomatoes 🍅. Oh great tip on mildew. I agree with fresh big beans 🫘 they look delicious. Lots to harvest compost for the win. Have an awesome day, Ali ☁️🇨🇦
Thanks Mags. Snaps are so dependable and can handle the cold and heat. It's been an amazing flower year here. Honestly they typically look a bit rough by now in the August heat. Really only the nasties and calendula are looking tatty right now and even those won't be too bad with a good trim. Happy to send you some snap seeds ...if you want. Instant message me your address if interested. I'll have seeds by late Oct early Nov..
Some really beautiful crops there! 🤩You have succeeded with so many things this year, despite pests and diseases. Count your wins, totally agree! Sorry about the botrytis. I've only first heard of it this summer as well. I've thought that might have happened to those who didn't clean their snips/secateurs, but it seems it can happen to anyone. But the cleaning most likely prevented you from spreading it throughout your garden. I've bought cucumbers seeds that are resistent to powdery mildew for next year. There is always hope for next season. Now I only hope those cucumbers are as tasty, because the ones I had for two years have been the best cucumbers I've ever had. My dog Leni agrees, I have to share them with her. ☺
Apparently High unity are game for the airborne spores of botrytis. We've had a lot of rain for this time of year and nights have been cool. Perfect conditions in other words. Hope your week is a good one!
@@johnking-ht5ez Ahhh that's fun. I'm still waiting on the Mr. Tarter's German which apparently gets huge. I keep checking to see if a sling is necessary...but so far they are not that huge.
Absolute heaven is the taste. We still have 4 varieties to taste, but right now this is in the top 2. Often those low acid types are rather lack luster in flavor....Dr. W. does not disappoint. 🌞🍅🌞🍅🌞🍅🌞
Wonderful update Robin, glad you learned something new, I did the same a week before with the same issue on someone else's growing spaces.
