The PJ story is fascinating, filled with tragedy and joy. Jeff and Stone were still dealing with the death of Andy Wood, while more than a thousand miles away a guy they didn’t know was struggling to find his place in this world. Then a demo tape makes its way to Eddie and they end up saving each other, becoming one of the biggest bands in history. Just incredible. No wonder they’re still together with a story like that.
Bro, let me help you out. 1. PJ didn’t even form until summer of 1990. You can’t open for a band before you even exist. 2. PJ never even opened for King’s X. But King’s X opened for PJ from March 24th to April 3rd in 1994. Both bands have complimented each other and made music together. 3. Numerous bands contributed to the formation of “grunge”. If you had to single out the first band to really lay the cultural blueprint of what would become grunge it would be Wipers in 1977 (2 years prior to the formation of The Edge which would become King’s X). Again, one singular band can’t be credited with its formation. You might as well just say Nirvana invented it out of the clear blue sky. 4. Ironically enough, the only person I know aside from you who claims King’s X “invented grunge” would be Jeff Ament of PJ…who you hate. I think if pressed Jeff would say that he may have overstated it knowing that numerous other bands (including his own band of Green River) made contributions. He just loves King’s X and was giving them props. Well-deserved IMO because I love King’s X and PJ. 5. Chill out.
@JohnDoe-od7ye dude, no one buys pearl jam music anymore. They haven't had a hit since the 90s. If you do hear pear jam on the radio it's a few of their songs from the 90s.
@JohnDoe-od7ye they were called something else. I think they were named after a basketball players sneakers or something and they gave King's X a demo and begged them to listen to it.
@@brianm7185 I mean, how many bands who were in their heyday 30 some years ago do still put hits onto the charts? They're a legendary band whether you personally like them or not.

You cant overstate the impact the groups' forming had on humanity. Incredible! So lucky to have grown up with them.
Can't find a better band! ❤

I met Eddie Vedder in a restaurant in Chicago. He was very humble and nice guy!

For us too. Best. Live. Band. Ever.

They played a great show in Dublin last summer.
To borrow a quote from Snoop. PJ is "Realer than Real Deal Holyfield!" Legit legends.
Is the full interview coming this Sunday?

90s eddie vedder was the chef's kiss of sexy
Yeah… I’m not sure you guys are being honest about what “Pearl Jam” means.
Pearl Jam is so boring. King's X blows Pearl Jam away. King's X started grunge and PJ even opened for them in '89.
