The parade marked the end of a long tour of duty for the 5th Battalion, the Royal Regiment of Scotland. People lined the streets to welcome the heroes home.
It's wonderful to see the Argyles again, My Father served as Pipe Major sometime in the 50's he received his PM certificate under the tutelage of one of the greatest Pipers of all time PM Willie Ross, back then they were in Edinburgh Castle, and they had their wee mascot,Crouachin,a little shetland pony, and I see thay still have a mascot now, Thanks so much it was such a pleasure!
True heros. Great to see the pipes & drums of the Argylls once again on tour in the USA with the band of the Irish Guards. Great musicians and true soldiers in the finest traditions of the old Thin Red Line!
They must also have the freedom of the town of Dumbarton, (I know they have it for Stirling the regimental home was Stirling Castle), as they are marching with Bayonets attached a sign of a regiment being granted freedom of a city, the feeling being that the troops could be trusted in the city therefore could keep their bayonets attached to weapons. A wonderful regiment that should never have been disbanded.

Dunno why, but this made me cry. Not of sadness; hard to explain.
I hate the commercials on UA-cam. Remember the good old days when it was a video sharing site and not part of "the Google"?
