I am so glad I came across this video.. my papa JFk- Kennedy was an argyll who we sadly lost nearly two years ago who is in this video marching. Always lovely to see him doing &being with what he loved , thankyou for posting this even though a few years ago.
My great great grandfather and uncle fought with this regiment. One died, younger made it out to New Zealand. WHy disband them. So sad given the heritage they had. For gods sake I’m in New Zealand other end of the world and I only have them to thank for it.
I was in the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards in Aden when the Argyll was sent out. The funny thing is I grew up in Stirling and joined the army in the local recruiting office. Never Forget..
This Regiment was served in Malaya (known as Malaysia today) during World War II against Japanese Imperial Army. This Regiment always associated with Battle of Slim River incident in 1942.

I remember the tumultuous times in Aden back in the mid 60's. Argyles, Cameron Highlanders, Northumberland Fusiliers. Colin Mitchell RIP.

The Queens Own Cameron Highlanders ceased to be a separate regiment in 1961, six years before Aden, and there's no 'e' in Argyll.
