@@ColinLeung. I need to replace those two motor mounts on my 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS and found them so hard to getting done. But on this video it looks so easy for me, other video I saw that replacing motor mounts also needed to replace the plates but on the WRX and STi. Don’t know way🤷 since on all the Subaru Impreza motor mounts are the same though.
Good news I diagnosed the shaking to be a warped drum brake in the rear of my car. When I would rotate the rear tire you still would not notice. But gone now. I do have a question though you're unequal header did you notice any power loss compared to your equal header. I am thinking about getting them for the forester.
I'm glad the issue was resolved. I did not notice loss in power with the unequal header. The power may have decreased when I put the stock header on because of the pipe thickness, and potential pipe restrictions, but it may have been my butt dyno.
Got a question. I've changed everything in the front of my car which is a Subaru Forester 2005. That would stop a shake under acceleration around 50 to 60 mph. The only thing left is the motor mounts and the bearings. The wheels are not hot after a 40 mile drive so I'm ruling out the bearings. Do you think motor mounts with about 170,000 MI and are the original that have been drenched in oil under the engine would cause that shimmy? And was that the symptoms you were having. The feeling I'm getting is like a inner CV axle not all the way in the transfer box sort of like a wobble. Anything would be appreciated. Thanks
Is the wobble only during acceleration from 50 to 60 mph? You can usually feel vibration inside the car from worn motor mounts at idle. I would replace them if they haven't been changed for 170k mi, but suspect that it may not be the issue. I heard a clicking/warping noise at all speeds when my bearings were going out. I'd double check the CV axles to make sure they're seated, and all suspension parts to make sure they're tight. Are your tires balanced, and have you had an alignment recently? Warped rotors would cause the car to shake, but only during breaking.
@@ColinLeung thanks for replying. Yes it only shakes in the driver seat cockpit at 50 to 65 in 5th gear if I slam the pedal. If I'm in a lower gear with higher RPMs the wobble is very faint and hardly noticeable. I think you're right about the motor mounts. I just bought the rotors they are drilled slot rotors from trq products and maybe they were produced wrong. Calipers are brand new as well. I did buy the tires at Big O Tires and I have a strange feeling that it could be that. The tires are brand new but I felt a little sketchy when I went there. It seems like their quality is not like it used to be. So I may go somewhere else and have them put another tire on to see if it works. On my next day off I'll probably pull the rotors off and make sure there are no debris of dirt or muck underneath them. You never know. Thanks again.
Oh one last thing when the wobble starts on acceleration it's really bad when I'm going uphill in fifth gear. The prop shaft and the transmission mounts were changed not too long ago as well.
@@teamces That's really strange that it only happens from 50-65mph. Are you able to get the car on a lift and go through all of the gears to eliminate the possibility that it's the transmission? It may be worthwhile to bring it into a mechanic if you're not able to figure it out after a while.
Good video! I thought that the motor mounts plates needed to be replaced like the ones on the WRX-STi.
Thanks Jesse. I reused the motor mounts, and didn't read anywhere that they needed to be replaced. I could be wrong

@@ColinLeung! After watching your video I just got mine done today. Thank you very much and keep on with good videos like this.👍
@@jessebracero6817 I'm glad you got it done! You're welcome

I like ur style
haha. thanks
Not solid mounts. Those are all metal. These are more like the group n bushings. Nice video
Thanks
