It does look like a possibly great way to play mega drive games on the go. But you don't really need to carry too many with you. Sonic 1, golden axe, streets of rage that alone will keep you busy on a lengthy journey 😅
For me, if you’re going to bother carrying around this massive handheld, then carrying around a few original size games is not going to be an issue either🤷🏻♂️
Any idea if there could be an issue with PAL cartridges? Also, any idea of cost or if there is a waiting list/pre-order option. I only own about 19 mega drive games, but I would definitely be in the market for a retro system to play Dreamcast games (I own about 50). I'm also hoping Sony release a console with backwards compatibility, as I own loads of PS2 games I'd love to play again.
The 16 by 9 screen, ugly design and also it's likely to be a System on a chip with bad sound, which you can pick up an SOC Genesis from Ali Express for way less. The best way to do this is to make an FPGA Sega Nomad or a Sega Venus. Or sell something like this 5 plus years before FPGA's and emulation handhelds were a thing.
Hey, if you don't have a Nomad and want to do the 30 day challenge on original hardware you can borrow mine. You'll have to get a power adapter though since I'm in the US. Or use all the AA batteries you own.
why why why isn't the screen 4:3?????
But I like having cartridges they are so much better
I'd rather see you try a 30-minute challenge with the Nomad's battery.
Yeah, why isn't the screen 4:3? I guess I will wait until Analogue releases a Mega SG pocket.
Really strange choice isn't it!
You and Mike should both do a 30 day challenge with this and then debate pros and cons.
You can buy the SD card with Sega Genesis game cartridge
you meant a flash cart with sd card full of roms.
@@trevortodd9720 yup
Not 4:3 is straight up crazy. That's a huge WTF lad. It's a pass for me man.
It's crazy isn't it!
@@ChronikSpartan I honestly can't get in that designer's head as it's just too scary to contemplate young lad.
A lot of sources claim that you can switch the aspect ratio to 4:3. But I will admit, the use of a 16:9 display is indeed questionable.
You can switch to 4:3.
@@HyperkinGaming Any updates? This looks very interesting to me. Thx.
The ANBERNIC ARC is the handheld that will screw the sales for the Hyperkin Mega 95.
I can only think of like four games I would want to play. I do have a real MD Everdrive Pro though and no system. I probably will get it.
I definitely think it will be a cool system for the collection

The supaboy goes 16:9 and 4:3 with a switch. I’m sure they are going to use that tech on this
Not heard much about it recently
@@ChronikSpartan yeah I am waiting to buy one
Looks kinda cool.. i'll keep 1 eye on this 😉.. Nice work mate
I will tell you why I need a handheld like this. I need it because I need it.
Perfect! 👌

Very few Mega Drive games have any internal region locking so they should be fine

So you're talking about something you haven't even held? Do one!
Hahaha, so you've never heard of preview? 🤣 muppet
