- Transferring my gold fish out of the old 50 gallon outdoor pond to a new 300 gallon ready made stock tank. The transfer was done in April of 2020. Pond plants added over the summer of 2020.
Fill the corners with some pebbles, it will look so much better!
Yea he could’ve filled in the edges with potting soil and planted them too which would provide shade and cause less algae
Looks great. You should put soil in those large gaps on the corners. Then you could plant something on each corner. Gets rid of the gaps and allows for more plant cover.
That's the plan
Cool video! I love getting new ideas. I like the wall construction you had going
Thank you, the pond is doing very well this year.
I got 100 gallon stock tank for an indoor pond in my living room. The fish love it but the water is in the 60’s so I guess I need to figure out a heater. Love the wall you built
Wow Gene you did a great job!
Thanks
This is exactly what I want to do this summer! How is it going? Did they stay in during the winter? What was your process?
Wow they have grown so much they are so beautiful
I really enjoyed your video! Not loud and very pleasant to watch!!
I'm on here searching for ideas on a DIY mesh cover for my 100 gallon stock tank greenhouse pond. My cats are fishing for my guppies🙄.
Problem is, the tank isn't rigid so the top edge is misshapen by the weight of the water and anything I build will not sit flush on top.
Would like to see how your pond is doing these days and how the fish grew... the setup looks nice and what a great life for some feeder fish!
Everything still looking good. I hope to be posting something soon.
love these pond updates
Great pond build, seems simple and practical, definitely looks easy to build up but would have to dig deeper obviously 🙄 because I live up north from Florida
It’s beautiful!
What did you use as plants in there?! We are thinking about adding some rock, fish, and plants to our duck pond (it’s the same stock tank) and want to make sure we use the right types. I’m sure it’ll be difficult to find plants that’ll hold up to the ducks swimming and fish that can handle the duck poop (we have a filter system in place).
very nice
What about winter time? Wouldn’t the fish die?
No I live in Florida. I believe further north ponds must be dug deeper to keep them from icing over. Otherwise the fish just stay deep in cold weather. Many northern pond owners will remove the fish and take them indoors for the winter.
Where can i get those water plants
Love Nelson water gardens !!!!!
Can you make a video
I live in houston
Just look up pond and water gardens in Houston. Several stores come up.
I got my duck weed and water lettuce from Lake Houston. lol
