    Wow you have some really beautiful koi. I don't under how people can say that some colors are ugly or not desirable. I love all colors. I truly believe that all colors mixed gives ponds the most beautiful look. Having all same colors and patterns is just boring to me. Spice up your ponds and tanks for the best experience us the key to happiness. I love my swimming Angles and they are about to finally be outdoors in a pond. I can't wait to see how happy they will be . I went from a 20 gallon to 40 gallon to 55 to 100 and now either 300 or possibly 500 gallon pond. I have 2 koi and 14 gold fish 1 pleco and 2 feather fin squeaker cat fish. I want 2 more koi and an albino pleco again. Bigger is always better with koi and goldfish.

    Beautiful!
    Open till recently I had a common carp, well we didn’t realise that is what he was until it had grown to about 7 inches long. When my nephew originally got him he was told it was a silver goldfish. Sadly we had to re-home him and it was hard to say goodbye as he had been with us for 2 years but I know that he has been rehomed to someone that I’m told that have a massive pond, so I’m pleased that he’s gone to a good home and my hope is that one day I’ll be able to have a proper pond in my garden where I can look after these types of fish properly. I’m also slightly jealous of the wildlife that you have in your backyard because where I live, we have pigeons, seagulls & the odd cat! 😉

    I’ve bought from Next Day Koi too. Right after Christmas. They have grown so large. We are buying a 300 tank next week. Luckily we can transfer all the bacteria in plants, previous filter medium & water. Everything but the fine algae on the sides and bottom. It will be by our bedroom window outside to enjoy our Koi whenever we want. Also have a de-icer that is perfect size for the winter. Don’t forget to get a Yamabuki Ogan or a Platinum Ogan. They are so beautiful and also grow fast.

    my problem is snakes getting into my tanks eating my koi, this year I raised it on cinder blocks and put a black hose around the perimeter to keep snakes away, so far, we have had good luck did a lot of research on this matter. oh, ya put cinnamon around the pond on the cement.

    what a WONDERFUL video! start to finish setup - great detail, love the narrative - those fish are spectacular. The black white and silver one at 4:01 -ish is especially gorgeous. They all look like they are floating around in midair against that dark tank. Someday I hope to do a 300 gallon tub like that. For now it is a little 50 gallon water garden outside and the 70 gallon lil kid sister stock tank in the livingroom :) Beautiful music...just wonderful! Will you winter them in this tank? Also, living near such amazing wildlife etc...good call on the net - I figured you would really have to fortify the tank a bit. Do you have bear nearby too? Oh boy that could be a situation - holy moly. WONDERFUL TOUR of the stock tank - thanks so very much for sharing!

      +OnefishTwofishROC Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a nice comment! Overwintering is a question mark, but maybe. The bears are getting closer but none in the yard yet. The music is a funny and very fortunate outcome - maybe I'll share the story in your next livestream🤣Stay tuned for the Alaska content! BTW 4:01 fish really striking in person - good eye.

    How many Koi can go in 300gals?

    • @RiverLifeUS
      @RiverLifeUS  3 роки тому +1

      Impossible to give a number based on gallons! Water quality and ability to maintain water quality is the main issue with koi. Expert koi farms can keep healthy koi in high concentrations. 300 gallons is a temporary growth stage pond for koi as they grow to nearly 3 feet long! 300 gallons is actually too small after about 3 or 4 years. I had to sell my remaining koi, at about 4 years old. I also had problems with "kids", whom would catch them by hand, and pull the out to show everyone. then they get jumpy, and will jump out.
