      Well, you can do this hobby in many ways. That is the lovely part of it. We also built a local community, which is now sharing plants here for newbies. Organizing a local aquascaping contest too, to inspire others and future generations for many years now. A good shop can support the hobby many ways also helps you to get educated quickly, teach you tips, tricks. This is why we're turning to UA-cam now, to share everything that we've learned in the past years. And hopefully, others will enjoy this journey too. When we've started there was not too much help, so we had to do everything on our own.

    Viktor and Tamás, you should be proud of this layout and planting scheme...!
    It will be wonderful since it will mature very quickly, right from the start, with such dense planting. Loved it.
    I don’t resist making a spicy comment (not aiming at you guys, let me be clear!) for the most attentive:
    - had you guys planted this tank a few months earlier, and submitted in due time, I’m sure you would have won IAPLC-2018, with full merit!

      Closure:
      One tends to criticise (constructively) because we cherish the hobby, the history behind the brand, the life-example of the founder... and can't help feeling that all this Universe of supporters, clients, distributors, friends in general, deserved more.
      This corporate decision was not well thought through. China may be an important market to conquer, but it was not fair.
      You guys deserved more, I deserved more, we all deserved more.
      Words matter, people matter, partners matter, brand supporters matter, investors matter, retailers matter, and it's in everyones best interest to be manly enough to come say:
      "This was not correct. Sorry Sensei, we can do better, we will, in memory and in respect of your life's work which will endure and inspire many future generations to come."

    That's a really beautiful "simple" scape haha.. can't wait for the plants to mature. For me I always put small floating plants like amazon frog bit or Salvinia sp. if I started with viewer plants to help absorb excess nutrient and diffuse the light a little for a month or two. But stay away from duckweed or Azolla sp. if possible. They're really hard to remove completely from the tank.

    Another impressive video, many thanks for that! Again, I've had the chance to get acquainted with some great plants to use in my tank.
    Question 1: What will you do when the wood will start to develop the white molds/mucus on its surface? (I usually remove the wood and blow it with shower - this looks impossible with all the rocks attached). It is supposed to go away in 2-3 weeks, but I still experience this after 1.5-2 months.
    Question 2: As far as your experience goes: does Eleocharis acicularis demand CO2 / stabile level of CO2? In my tank I am using a yeast-based CO2 system (NEO2), but this is the one and only plant (Tropica) I am struggling with heavily, it develops BBA-like algea / surface on the "grass" (but it is not bba as I am able to remove them with my hands). Monte Carlo develops nicely (despite the fact it also has some blackish spot), Sessiliflora grows like hell, Alternanthera reineckii mini is "middling" (some say because of too much Fe in GA Micro).
    This particular tank of mine is 50l, driven by one Hydor Prime 10 AND one Hydor Prime 20 filters (all in all 300+600=900l/h output), light is ADA Aquasky LED, CO2 is NEO yeast-based system (to be replaced with high-pressure CO2 system soon), 50% of water is replaced weekly with 70%distilles water (Auchan :)) and 30% tap water (Bp District XIII), ferts used are Seachem Excel and GA Micro and GA Macro in ratio of 2mls:3mls (macro increase worked well for my Alternanthera). Livestock is not a heavy load to the aqua: 8 Hemigrammus bleheri and 7 TANICHTHYS ALBONUBES.
    Any idea is highly welcome to get rid of this Eleocharis acicularis issue. :)
    Question 3: Are there any plans that the ladies will feature the next videos? :) Not that I have anything against you boys, but I liked it a lot when the ladies also showed up. :D

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for your words!
      Q1: Throw in some snails, algae eaters, fishes they eat it. Hopefully, the wood was aquarium friendly
      Q2: Acicularis cna grow without that, but the best appearance will be with stable CO2. Pushing a little more and you will be full with hair algae for example.
      If you can manage it invest in a good pressurized system next. Makes miracle!
      Sometimes only a heavy trimming helps on eleocharis species as the quickest solution. But better to have plenty of algae eaters, also need to use gravel cleaners to remove the debris timely.
      Q3: Who knows what brings the future? :)

      SAE do not eat plants - they only eat algae and plant remains that are decaying. (Even if it looks healthy for the human eye.) What you read is a common misconception. BTW algae usually appears around 1 month into the tank's life, but if you happen to have it you'll overcome it easily if you follow the rules. First of all, how do you deal with frodo stones and water hardness? i like this stone so much but i havent tried it yet. And i see seachem purigen into your filter! Isnt this suppose to decrease no3 up to zero? How do you deal with zero no3 and plants?!

      @GreenAquaShop  5 років тому

      Thanks for your comment! Here you go!
      1. Frodo stone is not changing your water parameters. Maybe in the first few weeks, but after that not really. Love it!
      2. Purigen does not remove NO3. There are different kind of filters which does. But Purigen is plants friendly. We used it with EI and now using with the ADA fertilizers too. 4 times more than the factory recommendation. Amazing result. We have it in every of our filters to provide these crystal clear look.

    • @GreenAquaShop
      @GreenAquaShop  5 років тому

      Well mufari92, sorry about that but we can only quickly help you with the metric system calculations. What we do is we take the base measurements of the aquarium, say 120 x 45 cm. If you multiply that you get 5400. You divide that by 100 and you get 5.4 liters of Base Layer Fertilizing substrate - provided that you want an even 1 cm of it everywhere in the tank. The same goes for the clay-based General Plant Substrate, with the only difference that you will have to multiply that by 4 to get a minimum thickness of 4 cm across the tank. If you want to build up the substrate to say 12 cm at the back, you need to multiply that by 8, etc.

For now I have been using Carbon and feel like it is an outdated method which works real well, but si a bit annoying as it is not a renewable source. I like the idea of Purigen. How long does it last you between cleaning/recharging?

    • @GreenAquaShop

      Carbon is a one time shot. Purigen can be recharged like 8 times? That mean years with 3-4 months charging.
