Amazing, inspirational...But above everything, I will remember this sentence forever: "Trial and error. And I have so many errors. You must find yours, and then, after that, you can find your methods". Simply impressive how a master like Chow-san transmits such peace by sentences like that. Thanks a lot to everybody for bringing this piece of art.
Thanks for your beautiful comment. Yeah, we feel the same, he has many hidden sentences like this in the video. You only notice them when you are editing it, and review it more than once. Glad that his message came through, there's much to learn from him, a true Master.👍
Dave Chow is my older brother. I remember as a child he was always making beautiful little jars filled with pond water, insects, snails and shrimp. He and I would release some of them a few days or a week later back into the pond and we'd make another one. He would always tell me "see with your eyes but create with your heart". It took me many years to learn what he meant by that. Now, I am a professional food artist and I carry on his tradition and passion with pancakes, burger buns, bean sprouts... I sculpt with most foods (except beets... Never ever do art with beets). Thank you Dave for all you taught me.
Yeah, I totally agree with what you said about him. He has that effect on people, this is why I said what I said at the beginning of the video. Thanks for your kind words, cheers! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Just watching this Master put together this tank, with his devotion to his art, his humour And the intensity of the stones initial set up was such a pleasure. A feeling of joy settled around me. Aquascaping May be a serious business, but it is very human as well. Thank- you so much for sharing these magical moments with us.
Thanks so much for your very nice comment Kathleen, yeah, we felt exactly the same when talking to him and watch him work, he is an inspiration to us all. Thanks for watching, and really glad you had good moments through it. Stay tuned for more.🙏🏻👍🏻
Thank you UA-cam algorithm for exposing me to the wonderful world of acquascaping. We're not even 5 min in and I've already quit my job, divorced my wife & dropped my kids off at the train station with one way tix to Albuquerque for the sole purpose of dedicating my life to my new religi..hobby w/ ZERO distractions. Aquascape or die!!
I absolutely love this art, having fallen in love with Iwagumi as it gives me so much peace and happiness when designing it all in my head and discovering new technics or inventing ideas myself all the time....
This is such a great show I’m so happy to have found it here on UA-cam. I would love to some day create such a beautiful and peaceful aqua scape. Thankyou
Thanks so much, it will get better because of you guys, being so encouraging and supportive, I can't express my gratitude for you doing so. You are the best. Cheers. 👍🏻
Awesome to see the whole process, beautiful scape by the master! Also in the photos of his previous scapes, the one with two dragons facing off... wow!!
Yeah, what a collection, right? All his scapes have a very distinct Dave Chow style, you can tell it's his tank without even looking at the name or the creator. He is a great Master. 👍🏻💡
Glad you have a new favorite at Green Aqua, we will keep improving and adding to this scape with Dave's remote help in the future. And I'll be working to create a new favorite for you! 😜 Cheers.
Thank you for your words Kedar. It means a lot. We're working hard all the time to improve the watching experience and hopefully, our effort will be visible to all of you. And we're super honored whenever we have a chance to work with such great guests. 😍😃
Thats a true masterpiece by a master of aquascaping, I went to his shop in HK and thats the first time I saw a worldclass aquascape art. He taught me lot's of trick and tips that I always use. Happy 10th Anniversary Green Aqua! I must visit ur shop in the future, great video Balaz. Keep making the beautiful world of aquascaping!!!
Thanks so much for you kind words. Now I'm a little jealous that you were lucky enough to step into that shop, it's on my bucket list for a long time, I must visit soon. 👍🏻
I live in Indonesia, so traveling to HK is not a big deal. I little bit jealous that you were stepping to Green Aqua everyday 🤣 definitely my number one list aquascape shop that I must visit!
Yeah, and I should also add Indonesia while I'm there too. You're welcome to visit us if you happen to be in Europe, would love to have a chat with you. Cheers. 👍🏻
He is a great teacher, a really inspirational, relaxed person. We've been amazed how much work he's done in the past. Can not wait his current IAPLC tank later this year. 😍
Wow, a true artisan at work! a great aquascaper creating another masterpiece at the people's favorite gallery shop. I bet you guys will never break the "Great Wall" tank ever!! If I were you, I would frame that signed sketch he gave you. Cant wait to see this tank mature!
Oh, yeah, I wouldn't say sprinkle though. 😅A 'lot of' would be more proper. 😇🤪So welcome to the channel and hope you'll enjoy our other contents as well.
Dave Chow is absolutely a king at aqua scape designing , his work and this video is astonishing .... he creates fish tanks at a golden level. He knew already how his design will turn out, he sketched out how to do it and also I got the feeling that he believed he can do it too. It is a wonderful fish tank and yes I agree it's the best design and good looking tank in the studio of green aqua. I design basic and less value fish tanks and they turn out to be ok , not the best looking , but they're ok. my plants growth and pet fish health are my most concerns , maybe one day if I get a well paid job then I will design a tank like Mr Chow did in this video and then I would not worry about cost and money. But, all together this video was superb and Mr Chow's design and work was astonishing. Britains most talked about (that's me) Stephen Patpal - Bristol England ....I love watching video's like this one, it makes me really happy.
His work looks so much like Chinese traditional shuǐ-mò (水墨, "water and ink"), carefree, abstract and majestic. I feel like Dave's style root deep into the "xieyi" (寫意) landscape painting style. Great work!
Ever since I discovered Green Aqua and this video, I always loved Aquascaping! I look up to people like Mr. Amano himself and guys like Dave Chow, keep it up Green Aqua and keep Aquascaping!
Dave's work is incredible. I love that stone, the layout and the wonderful explanations while he worked. Great work editing this to something enjoyable and easy to learn from!
Yes, his work is unparalleled. We have a very deep respect towards his creativity and style of presentation. Thanks for the kind words about the video production, it was a big big job (some 40+ hours of editing in total shared between Peter and me) to get it to this level. 👍🏻
Oh My God!!! I never knew of these!!! So much fun and exciting!!! I would love to build myself an aquarium like this!!!! This is absolutely the best kind hobby I think!!
Thank you for sharing this. I've never tried doing these interesting aquarium/terrarium projects myself but I've always enjoyed watching the hardwork and attention to detail behind their makings. I especially enjoyed these workshops because of how the reasoning behind the design and the process in executing it are elaborated to the audience. Please, continue posting these wonderful videos! 🙏
Maybe, I've watched this video 10 times. I am so amazed. I think, of all the Green Aqua shows, Dave Chow is among the most amazing, apart from Josh Sim. I believe that Dave is a smart person. The reason is, just by looking at the photo of the hardscape material, so he can imagine it as a sketch. And then, the sketch is very meaningful and almost the same as the original. So stunning.
We'll do, we'll do, but we are so happy that you are around that we don't want you to leave. Maybe we'll let you out for a quick maintenance on your tank. 🤪
@@GreenAquaShop me? No... I didn't use it when I did the maintenance to my scape! I can get proofs of that! And now, you are thinking, how the hell did he achieve such shape? 😜
Hahaha, I just love you guys 🤣 Dave is so calm and he really looks like a master when he is doing his work. His scape also have a special charisma 👍 Glad to know that the day I will visit you comes closer 😁
This whole video elicited such amazing emotions for me. I'm absolutely addicted to your videos. They're so calming for my mental health and inspire me for my own tanks!
Спасибо!!!Спасибо!!!Спасибо!!!Спасибо!!!Спасибо!!!Спасибо!!! это просто великолепно!!! отдельная благодарность за демонстрацию аквариума во всей красе=)
Inspirational Aquascape. Hardscape looks dangerous but amazing❤ and by the way Filipes's aquascape has its own unique style and beauty so stop teasing him😂
We just made a show out of teasing Filipe, everybody knows he is one of the best scapers in the room and a very good friend to us. You know, how you tease your friends - this is the same kinda fun. No worries mate. Glad you like the scape, it's very solid, so there's no danger at all.
Been waiting for this one. Epic video guys, well done! Dave has so much talent, and has the original nature aquarium spirit, he is a real inspiration! The lay-out is just amazing, so much detail and angles to look from. I think this scape is the best one so far at Green Aqua. Please keep us posted on progress on this one, really like to see how it matures and grows in. Take care guys!
Thanks for the nice comment Nick, we totally agree, Dave is fantastic. It was so nice and so inspiring to have him over. Check out the update that I did on the tank, just two weeks after its setup - based on his ideas. The video will come out on next Thursday. 💡
My mouth was wide open the whole time. Amazing video and what an amazing setup! I really really need something that epic and awesome in my office here at home. I would never leave the room!
What a superb creation. Absolutely loved it. Green aqua channel has really helped me to get in depth related to aqua designs & products. So classy & ok informative.
I really would like to see a video on the last one he designed out of the three you showed pictures of. It is truly beautiful and i want to recreate it as best as i can!!

That would be the eye of the dragon indeed, thanks for that idea. We love the simplicity of the iwagumi layouts, but they are really difficult to make on a high level indeed, this is why there are so many very boring stone-layouts out there.
He came out the moment Dave finished and the party started. 😂 He knows what fun is. 🤣 Yeah, we could have been longer, but you know how the 21st century youtube is. No time for anything, they all want action. Quick.
The goulash was good, the beer was cold and coffee was awesome!!! To be honest, those guys just closed me there because even whispering, I got caught by microphones... 🤣
Is that how you interpret "strong presence" in your culture? I though Hungarians and Portuguese have more things in common.😂 To the others who did not understand me: I meant his spiritual presence, not his physical one.😜
It's relatively easy. You drill three holes, you go through with plastic elements sealed and glued, connect the hoses at the bottom that will lead to the filter (Eheim 2080 has two suction hoses and one outflow) and just push in some custom made glass into the top part of the plastic with some rubber rings inside. That's it.
No need to do anything, this would function exactly as a regular in- and outlet for an external filter, the only difference is that the hose does not go above the rim, but through the bottom. For the filter it's the same... 💡
There are many reasons. We have a lot of LED-s everywhere in the gallery and we wanted to show a tank with T5-s too. Also, 2 LED-s above the 90cm cube would probably have been a little weak, and 4 would've been too much there.
I hadn't the slightest clue that the international aquascaping community was so damn hilarious
Haha, thanks, yeah, we're nerds but we're people. 😂😇
Our humour can be a little dry.
Nerds are just people with passion.

I don't like the Iwagumi aquarium but this is awesome.
This scape needs of betta splendens red dragon 😉.
That would be the eye of the dragon indeed, thanks for that idea. We love the simplicity of the iwagumi layouts, but they are really difficult to make on a high level indeed, this is why there are so many very boring stone-layouts out there.
@@GreenAquaShop Would be awesome 😉
👍🏻💡
Well he deserve a video for at least one hour...but ok...I've to accept this one... By the way...has Filipe left the kitchen yet?
He came out the moment Dave finished and the party started. 😂 He knows what fun is. 🤣 Yeah, we could have been longer, but you know how the 21st century youtube is. No time for anything, they all want action. Quick.
The goulash was good, the beer was cold and coffee was awesome!!!
To be honest, those guys just closed me there because even whispering, I got caught by microphones... 🤣
Filipe has a strong presence wherever he goes, this is why we LOVE HIM! 😜
@@GreenAquaShop are you calling me fat? 🤣
Is that how you interpret "strong presence" in your culture? I though Hungarians and Portuguese have more things in common.😂
To the others who did not understand me: I meant his spiritual presence, not his physical one.😜
Such Lovely tank 😍
Great job team.
Can some explain me about the plumbing of this tank. I would like to do this kind of cleaning system on my tank
That's it.
Green Aqua thank you .... my doubt is that do we need to put any return check valve or we can directly connect IN and OUT pipes ??
No need to do anything, this would function exactly as a regular in- and outlet for an external filter, the only difference is that the hose does not go above the rim, but through the bottom. For the filter it's the same... 💡
Green Aqua thank you so much, ill get this implemented to my 2x2 cube tank which i am planning. 😍😊
You're welcome, good luck with your tank. The only thing you need to take care of is to seal those plastic thru-holes well.
This tank has character. Powerful yet peaceful.
Glad you like it!
Thanks for producing this cinematic artwork.
Glad you enjoy it!
balaz when putting in the aqua conditioner😊
Everybody was watching so attentively and quietly, I just had to shut up. 😂🤐
@@GreenAquaShop so funny hahahaha
He is waiting for dave to say stop??
Better final than GOT 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
GOT? That's again something I don't understand. Teach me. 😂
@@GreenAquaShop Game of thrones.
@@GreenAquaShop Really? The iron throne? Full of Seachem Plus?
deserves first spot in iaplc2019 😜
btw, any reason for using T5 instead of LED lights?
There are many reasons. We have a lot of LED-s everywhere in the gallery and we wanted to show a tank with T5-s too. Also, 2 LED-s above the 90cm cube would probably have been a little weak, and 4 would've been too much there.

I agree. That's why we try to have both while scaping.

I totally understand you. Aquariums are perfect with stress and depression treatment.

Yeah, we can confirm that, we're doing the same.💡
@@GreenAquaShop it was such a quotable quote I wouldn't expect someone to say.
He is a very spiritual person.💡
i will stuck in his rOom a week or more...wow...everything around so amazing...
Yeah, many people do that, they're here for hours.
That tank is what my aquatic scaper dreams are made of. Just stunning!
Yeah, it's also progressing nicely, I just took a look on it today and it has filled in quite nicely.
