as you kneel beside the remnants, the moonlight casting an eerie glow on the skeletal remains. Each detail-a rusted arrowhead, the faded insignia on what might have been armor-tells a story lost to time. The air grows still, the sounds of the night muted as if nature itself holds its breath, waiting for your next move. You reach out, fingers trembling, tracing the contours of the cracked skull, feeling the chill of ages past seep into your skin. "What truths linger in this forgotten place?" you ponder, the weight of the past pressing upon you. The ground beneath is damp, and a faint scent of decay mingles with the earth, pulling you deeper into this haunting encounter. Suddenly, a breeze stirs, rustling the ferns, and you feel the presence of those who once walked these lands. Do their whispers beckon you to listen, or to turn away? I ask why images like this evoke mesmerising fantasy in our minds? Why do we see more than meets the eye looking beyond the veil of simple imagery, to behold a far-vaster world? Perhaps it's our primal need to fill in the blanks to ward off skulking dangers, or it is an innate drift to wander aimlessly.

This entire channel, but this video in particular is the perfect soundtrack for the book I’m writing. This video is the perfect backing track for the chapter where the main characters enter a portal discovered in the forest that takes them to a magical world once powered by witches and runes. Now a decayed wasteland where even the trees seem like they are crying out in pain after a curse was placed over the land.
The first thing that came to mind listening to this was Demons' Souls' character creation track. I can't believe I've just discovered a genre that sounds nearly identical to it. I am a more delighted dungeon dweller because of this. Thank you. :,)

"Behold, Squire." His voice musters, so proud it shakes. You help him find purchase, against the face of the northward knoll. His sword makes no sound in damp grass. "A thousand battles, a thousand victories, for our hero. Those were the days, Squire. But nothing good lasts forever, Squire. Nothing. He left, and we were ruined. What do you know of that? Of loss? Of betrayal?" His eyes mist with memory. You remember when he was just a boy, before the years etched away his strength, and dulled the last of his magic. When things were good. Transfixed, he gazes upon the ruins, while you tend to his wound. The old gods know him, but it is you they watch. They are not fooled. Reunited at last. How long it has been. Look what has become of us. "Squire?" "Do you feel it calling?" A prayer wrapped in a question. The faintest suspicion. An old man's dying hope. "No," you say. "I don't feel anything at all."
After many days in travel, you find the forest around yourself grow in size and shine in unnatural colours. The branches twist as if forming words in language known only to forest itself. No doubt, you are finally here - at the grove of living trees. At its center is a magical silverwood tree, able to grant a single wish should it find it worthy. If anyone wants a good artist to listen to almost this exact kind of music (I think a few songs in here are by them but I don't know) is Witch Bolt. Wonderful artist! This exact kind of music.
As I stir awake within these desolate walls, they mirror the fractured remains of my own spirit and flesh. Years of wandering, of battles and more, have scarred my bones and hollowed my heart. I’ve watched comrades fall, felt friends vanish into shadows, leaving me the last ghost haunting these lands. Here I sit, gray and spent, the sole remnant of those vanished hopes. And yet, amid the wreckage, a frail ember still smolders - this faint wish of mine: that even a ruin like myself may have sheltered another from the storm at least once, just as these crumbling stones around me have shield me from the cold grasp of the previous night.
Coming from nothing is a fantastic start. Without any direction you are indeed the master charter of the voyage of your destiny. What great towers will you ascend? I love the art and music. Does anyone know of any movies or shows that capture this sort of vibe? Especially ones where the scenery does much of the story telling and dialogue is minimal, kind of like samurai jack.
As you walk the long dark road, you suddenly feel a sense of calmness come over you. These unknown roads have been travelled by your forefathers & will be marched again by your successors. You are exactly where you need to be.
“Aye traveller, and to the north is a humble town, good folk there. A place isolated from this blood stained tundra of war. Press on, and you’ll find respite in the warmth of their hearths.”
feels like an existensial resting place, where souls come and go to regain their strength before continuing their journey to whereever we or they are going
Stay a while, weary traveller. For the journey is long and the path treacherous. There is hot stew on the fire and soft hay to soothe your aching bones. Rest well. On the morrow we leave at dawn.

"We the Willing, have served the unknowing. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to accomplish anything, with nothing." Yet at the dawn of Victory, we sat down to rest... And resting, we died...
Bones are cold, growing colder with each step away from home. Here, in the cadaverous ruins of a once glorious empire, I sleep on the memories of a warm past and yearn for the crackling fire of a new home in unattainable dreams... Let these damp hollows swallow me for the night, so that tomorrow I may carry on my plight.
The breath of the cold night fog burned his nose as his eyes studied the castle. He wondered how such a small place could house such immense darkness. His fingers slowly wrapped around his weapon as resolve drew its shield upon his making his face hot. The cool night air howled through the bushes almost as if signaling a warning. He thought about his Sister, his parents, his friends Adrios and Mercu who be so envious of how much of the world he had seen, all dead now. How their souls could finally be put to rest finally after so much death and pain. "I may join you soon my friends", he thought to himself as he set off down the rocky path, towards the darkend silhouette of the castle against the night sky.
I am glad to have found this resting place in the ruins. To whoever reads this message after me, I wish you safe travels.

" the Squire relented "You know most of all what those beast will do the people" suddenly grabbing the squire's shoulder "B-but I am only a squire and-" the Squire babbled but the grip of his knight tightens "Yes, a Squire. But you're MY Squire. I have no weak subordinates. Everyone knows this. YOU know this" the knights hands suddenly fell to the ground. "Leave now * heavy cough* Remember your training..your resolve..* shallow breath* and your promise to Helena... "
A rousing tale, kind sir! I thank thee!
The internet really is a vast place; started looking for ways to fix a tire; now breathing in the ruins. Amazing⚔🐲
People of the internet I need media (in any shape or form) that feels exactly like this image, this music, this story..... please please please :)
Hollow Knight is a good one. The lore and the feeling of being in the great ruins of a long lost kingdom is spot on.
Demon's Souls/Dark Souls
Witch Bolt is a great musician for this style of music! Love them!
book, Elric of Melnibone
pseudoregalia and dark soul(games) - berzerk(manga).
i can also recomend you to watch adventure time, somehow after finishing it a couple time now, i feel like this had me feeling a lot like this. It look like a childish show at first but i let you see for yourself what can be found out by the end of it (:
If anyone wants a good artist to listen to almost this exact kind of music (I think a few songs in here are by them but I don't know) is Witch Bolt. Wonderful artist! This exact kind of music.
Thank you so much for this and yes, love is always be able to care, to serve and make sacrifices for the ones you love!
I thank thee for thy words, kind sir!
@@ScholastumProvost My pleasure! And so these 3 remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love!
Gird up your loins ye traveler, for ye know not what the mists bring. Find respite in this glade for now. ❤
This music takes me somewhere in my imagination , and it makes me not wanna come back to where I was 😊☺️🩷
As I stir awake within these desolate walls, they mirror the fractured remains of my own spirit and flesh. Years of wandering, of battles and more, have scarred my bones and hollowed my heart. I’ve watched comrades fall, felt friends vanish into shadows, leaving me the last ghost haunting these lands. Here I sit, gray and spent, the sole remnant of those vanished hopes. And yet, amid the wreckage, a frail ember still smolders - this faint wish of mine: that even a ruin like myself may have sheltered another from the storm at least once, just as these crumbling stones around me have shield me from the cold grasp of the previous night.
beautiful
Nice :) Its very appropriate and soothing background sound for me now as I m translating a medieval poetry about magic forest of Broceliande :)
I feel this like a metaphor for life.
This soothed something in me. Thank you. 💙
Thou art most surely welcome, kind sir! I pray thy soothing continue and thy life be a ship sailing in peaceful waters!
Thx for that awesome music, I got imagining about dungeon.
Love it.
Reminds me of when I used to play Vermis when I was younger.
Great art!
Coming from nothing is a fantastic start. Without any direction you are indeed the master charter of the voyage of your destiny. What great towers will you ascend? What dank tombs will you venture their treachery for treasures they hide? What Dragon will you seek and find in his mountain home? What horde has he gathered awaiting your humble introduction? No one can know these things but you, Squire. No one but you…
Tysm for making this it makes me calm while reading 😊
Someone could tell me the name or work from the background in this video? So breathtaking
I think it's probably an art generated by AI (although in case it is not so I would also like to know the name of the artist)
PD: I think you might like some of Ivan Bilibin’s art
@@lopez7947 Thank you, sure, I will look after Ivan's work!
Dungeon synth mixed with early 90's Polish VHS documentary about castles. I dig it.
Polish?
I love the art and music. Does anyone know of any movies or shows that capture this sort of vibe? Especially ones where the scenery does much of the story telling and dialogue is minimal, kind of like samurai jack.
What a treasure of a chanel I came across! The music, the artwork and the lore, all so immersive. Perfect for those introspective late nights!
I thank thee, kind sir! It warms mine heart that this creation has stirred thee such!
Wonderful atmosphere and music!
I thank thee for thy kind words, sir!
Into the darkness it is old friend.
Into the darkness, indeed.
The art reminds me of Record of Lodoss War. Nice.
I can almost feel the weight of a cape as I walk around work with this music on
Tant de belles illustrations dont je suis incapable de dire si elles sont des créations artistique ou le résultat d'une intelligence artificielle.
cara, como não descobri este canal antes. Muito bom !
Day 2 of asking for a full version of the outro to this song. I love this song and its bouncy happy end both!!
Kind Squire, it is done. Seek thee the jester!
@@ScholastumProvost You are awesome!!
This is beautiful from the start. Thank you :)
I thank thee, kind sir!
Cool Stuff.
I thank thee, kind soul! Thine offering is much appreciated!!
@@ScholastumProvost 🤗
Been listening while i read, thanks for posting this here. 😀
I thank thee, kind sir. Tis a noble thing, to read. Thou wouldst do well as a squire of the Scholastum.
@@ScholastumProvost I thank thee for thy kind words.
Masterpiece
Stay a while, weary traveller. For the journey is long and the path treacherous. There is hot stew on the fire and soft hay to soothe your aching bones. Rest well. On the morrow we leave at dawn.
Supongo que vendra 🫴 el que venga en son de paz 🕊️ y de ser amigos, sino no lo dejen pasar esta es casa 🏡 protejida por dios y nadie que venga a causar daño puede quedarse
Soooo cool
"Littlefoot, let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen closely..."
dont even remember clicking on this it was just in my watch history but its right up my alley so im not mad~
I thank thee kind sir! I am glad the digital gods have made our paths to cross as such. I wish thee and thine all the best!
"We the Willing, have served the unknowing.
We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to accomplish anything, with nothing."
Yet at the dawn of Victory, we sat down to rest...
And resting, we died...
I thank thee for this moving recital, sir!
Nice !
Amazing
As a Nightingale I can say this makes me long for adventure and more
Bones are cold, growing colder with each step away from home. Here, in the cadaverous ruins of a once glorious empire, I sleep on the memories of a warm past and yearn for the crackling fire of a new home in unattainable dreams... Let these damp hollows swallow me for the night, so that tomorrow I may carry on my plight.
Wow thanks for the playlist psy
We must press on!
And press on we shall!
