Hay Kiddo, I simply must object! A short while ago you lauded a listener as super listener. That can't be. I'm, mrsjob, I think I can out watch him for that fun title. I'm 80+, quilt most of the day and I at every moment am watching you and your lovely family,,,,,or looking for another video. Well I'll bet he has watched longer and pretty sure he understands most of your projects. I was just having fun, I do enjoy every one in the family and OFCOURSE THE ANIMALS. Thanks for the good lessons you bring to our public. You have done and will work to continue to make the little haven you've created a lasting place for the children's later lives. Again so fondly, mrsjob
Hinges refit on the flat plane side of gate , and redrill post holes offcentre to suit ( possibly may be able to just chamfer that troublesome overhang once there are no hinges running along it)
U can actually like grind off the wood a little bit so that it can open a bit more, do it on the post, or u can chisel clear the part that is touching your door and not letting u open it completely, trust me it fixes it.
Looks like a great job for your gate. The lack of 90 degree opening on one side is just one of those things that give it '' character''. AND, Stranger Things Season 2 actually turned out to be better than Season 1 for me. I know several others who think so too! Don't give up :)
I do like the new stranger things season. It is a bit of a slow start, but it picks up. I think you'll be happy with it in the end. That opening with the calf made me rethink my (occasional) meat-eater lifestyle. So beautiful.
The strap is the wrong piece since you need the round ring in the center of your short "side" that is parallel to your post. They have the same size pintel you can bolt straight in and sit the gate right almost next to the post and you will swing 90 each way
(hmmm ...). Any reason why you need the gate to ALWAYS move in both directions at the same time - as shown ? Makes it an either/or situation - rearward, cross gate, and forward positions all at once. Why not install a double set of gate bolts to the left (rearward) and right (forward) of where you have the bolts center-drilled now. Then, with manipulation, you can remove gate from the forward bolt position to the rearward bolt position (and vice versa). The single door can be used for the needed THREE positions - rearward division, cross gate, and forward division. Or ... again just buy another set of gate bolts with the same forward and rearward drill positions. Make another gate (!). Have BOTH GATES on BOTH GATE BOLTS. You then can have your forward-moving and rearward-moving gates. Then, ... you have FOUR options. (1) You can have a double cross gate when together ... or (2) a cross gate and the rearward gate division ... or (3) a cross gate and the forward gate division, or (4) a rearward-and-forward gate divisions (and no cross gate). All is spiffy. All is eazy squeezy.
The dual swing is nice for our small little barn, sometimes people or animals are in the way of it swinging one way or the other! But I did some adjustments since and got it to about 60 degrees on the stall side, should work enough... easy squeezy!
I think it was the mounting on the gate .. since it's on one side the offset effects angle... if you could have mounted the hinge on gate same as the post .. in the middle vs one side it probably would've worked out .. I'm just a UA-cam expert no real experience.
Im rather surprised to see that you like that programme Stranger Things since it is well recognised to be a very creepy and insidious Anti-Family Social Engineering platform. Utter Rubbish and actually malevolent of intent

Flip the bracket that attaches to the door over so the barrel section is in the center of your 2x4 that is running vertical on the door
He can also make a 90degre bent on the brackets to move the barrel to the center!
Good video. I was not raised on a farm. Amazing to see how nature works. Learn something new every time I watch.

+SoraTorus redrilling off center would help!

Calf is cuter today! Best of luck with finishing of the swing door..

+Gaila Kraeszig good I'm on to episode 4, getting better for sure!

. The only clearance you will need is so the edge of your 2x4 gets past the post.
That's a beautiful calf😍😍
Love the music in this one! (And everything else, of course!)
What do you use to attach the strap hinges? The strap hinge posted doesn't come with anything to attach to the fence
Does that calf have a name yet? Since you like Stranger Things, maybe you could call it Newt?
Swings both ways? Oh my

make another gate. you'll find a use for your first gate somewhere else....or don't.
I liked season one of Stranger Things better.
I bought plans from woodprix and I made it very fast.
Get to the point

Mine works too. I used the Woodglut plans and performed it without any problems.
