Been listening to Paul basically my whole life and I am 64 years old. I would say that there are many great albums by Paul. The underrated ones to me are London Town, Off the Ground, McCartney 3. All are good except Broad Street, Egypt Station. Twin Freaks was excellent! Anyway, good video and appreciate you doing it for us fans!
What an undertaking. I’ve gone through his discography once before but I probably should go through it again. Easily my favorite solo artist with many great records. I agree with some of your choices and disagree with others. I’ll give you my top 10 but you will probably be shocked by my choices. 1. Band on the Run 2. Chaos and Creation in the Backyard 3. Flaming Pie 4. Pipes of Peace 5. Memory Almost Full 6. New 7. McCartney 8. London Town 9. Egypt Station 10. Ram
Very good list. I disagree on New and London Town, particularly. Both albums have good tunes, but nothing shattering good like Venus and Mars or Back to the Egg. I think Tug of War is slightly stronger album than Pipes of Piece, although the Side 2 has good medley reprise material similar to Red Rose Speedway. I think there should be at least one album from his solo works I, II or III. Otherwise, to me, a solid list of great albums. Choosing Band on the Run as tops is the correct choice. Every song is so strong, his best works since Abbey Road.

Hi Stefan, i'm catching up on some Paul mccartney albums which i overlooked, i like Paul voice a lot, I can listen to anything he has done, his voice turn a mediocre song into a good one! 1) Venus and Mars 2) Band on the Run 3) RAM 4) Mc Cartney I 5) Red Rose Speedway
I enjoyed your views on most projects of McCartney's solo career and in order of your assessment in order as best as you can and at the present moment. A difficult task to choose from Band On the Run, his best effort compared with RAM, his most aggressive works. Venus and Mars is also his best band effort or you could choose Back to the Egg because of Laurence Juber's contribution. Flowers in the Dirt is a top album and Off the Ground, a good alternative, much like Tug of War, the top album and Pipes of Peace, a good alternative. Egypt Station and Ever Present Past are solid albums with Paul's weaker vocals taking a back seat to his more effective musicianship, along with his amazing McCartney III which overwhelms his previous solo works of I and II. Experimental albums may save his prolonged "pop" image, with creative works, much like Revolver saved the Beatles as a Rock Band that few could come close. Summary: 10. Egypt Station 9. Wings, Wild Life 8. Tug Of War 7. Flowers in the Dirt 6. McCartney III 5. Venus and Mars 4. Back to the Egg 3. Fireman - Electric Arguments 2. RAM 1. Hi! That was interesting and you made lots of good insights about McCartney at different times in his life. It might have been even better if you could have played little bits of the tracks you liked the best. I was most surprised at you saying Tug of War was a masterpiece? I remember buying it at the time it came out, not sure if I was that impressed with it, might have been one of the last ones of his I bought, I gave up on him ...I remember when Band on the run, came out, one of his best, a friend said to me, it's like the Beatles, but I said no, without Lennon, it was still more popy and middle of the road then a Beatles album, in my view. I really like Ram too, lots of good tracks. I don't know many of the albums you talked about, as I lost interest in his work, I know the big hits, but to me a lot of his work sounds very similar, the silly love songs type of stuff that he does so much of, I should think you will disagree with me, as you described him doing lots of different things?? Thank you, Sandra! Yes I would say that "Tug Of War" is a masterpiece or at least "almost" a masterpiece, definitely excellent, but everyone has his own opinion and that's fine. With Beatle- and McCartney music it is always tricky when you put it in a video; the copyright owners will block your video if you play a song for too long (everything that's longer than I don't know 5, 6 or 7 seconds can get your video in trouble; I didn't want to risk that)

Yep. Ram is the best. My favorite album of all time (full disclosure I was 14 when it came out).
