I talk about things that I like (The Beatles, for example). I hope you like that too!
A critique of oasis... but love for Nick Cave (and his new album Wild God)
on the one hand commercialism, corporatism, greed and money... on the other hand Nick Cave, Wild God, the power of music (and also a bit of money)

I pretty much have to agree with your views of the Oasis reunion.
Sean Connery is the 1 and only real bond for me and Roger Moore did bond alot moore fun so even though some of these are better then others there is actually only 1 that didnt really fit into the bond movies!! Do u know who i mean??
I guess you mean Lazenby (though for me the one I could live without is Craig)...
The middle song is a favourite of mine.
I kind of hope they do the entire album of What’s the Story Morning Glory. Hello would be a great start to the concert.
I don’t know Blur that well. I’ve never heard of Pulp. I really like What’s the Story Morning Glory and Be Here Now.
then it's time to check out PULP. Different Class is their best album; if you want to start with single tracks on youtube, check out the videos to "Disco 2000" and "Something Changed" for example
Fundamental (2006) is one of the most underrated albums, and I believe it deserves to be at least in the top 5. It’s a politically charged, anti-war album with very sharp critiques and brilliant melodies. With impeccable production by Trevor Horn and excellent b-sides, I would venture to say it’s the last great album by PSB made in the 'old way'-with time to refine, mature, and release. It’s very consistent and distinct from everything else in the duo’s extensive discography. It’s worth revisiting, and yes, like a fine wine, it has aged very well.
While those foolish enough to worry about is cool or not there are those just busy enjoying music. As for Dire Straits it was very unusual for a band to issue an album with only five tracks on it(Love Over Gold) with a fourteen minute opening track(Telegraph Road) and a seven minute single(Private Investigations) at a time when most pop songs were very short. Yeah, really safe, huh? Just enjoy whatever you are into and stop wasting your energy on this nonsense!
yes, like I said. I love the brothers in arms album and I fell in love with Jethro Tull as a band. Cool or not cool does not determine whether I like something or not. But great point about dire straits being adventurous in their own kind of way; agreed.
I’ve been on the Beatles tour in London. I’d love to go to Liverpool someday.
Il est génial ,un super artiste !Sa voix est une merveille , sa musique est sublime .Merci 👌❤️
absolument

Wonderful video! That word “if” is sure used a lot though. It’s sad that we will never know what might have happened, but each of us can create our own’Beatles parallel universes’. I just stumbled across your channel because of my own curiosity about what might have happened. I still have a CD recorder and intend to create my own “what if” Beatles albums. I may even use some AI generated songs from UA-cam that I’ve heard. I have no intention to do it for anyone but myself. I know that selling such a thing is not right. But the possibilities are endless if you can pretend that John was not murdered in 1980 and George was still with us.
thank you
Danke!
Danke
London is a really cool city. I have both that McCartney book and Ringo book. Both are good reads with a lot of good information.
I agree on the mccartney book and have yet to read the ringo (but good to hear that you like it, then I know it will be good)
Good day. Yeah~outstanding ,
My top 3 pet shop boys albums 1) Bilingual 2) Behaviour 3) Very I'm so pleased too see someone else agree with me on Bilingual and our choices are on ranking are pretty spot on. My favourite pet shop boys The way it used to be from the album. Excellent video by the way Neil and Chris always said Behaviour will be the album that will grow on people and of course they were right nearly 35 years on.
.....? Yes !
You should DEFINITELY like Gryphon !
Always great getting more Beatles on vinyl. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to Yellow Submarine because of all the non Beatles tracks.
Don't worry, Tull are cool.....the individuals who state they aren't cool either have no idea what good music is or are Rolling Stone journalists. You're wrong IMHO regarding their early albums...Stand Up and Benefit are masterpieces to me.
With the Beatles is still an album I need to get. You got some early Beatles there.
Pulp and Suede are superior, capable of much more art and musicality.
Suede are my favourite out of these 4 for a long time now (the only band I still listen to regularily of these 4). Pulp had two great albums (different class being maybe the best of all the so called "Britpop"-albums), but outside of their big two, I think they aren't as good as the other 3.
Here’s my top 4: The Smile Sessions (1967) - The Beach Boys The White Album (1968) - The Beatles Houses of the Holy (1973) - Led Zeppelin Animals (1977) - Pink Floyd
Really good choices. Watching that it was all the 1998 albums that jumped out as the ones I want to dig out and listen to again. Version 2.0, Moon Safari, Hello Nasty, Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, Ray of Light. I liked seeing some unexpected stuff like Bilingual as the 90’s Pet Shop Boys selection. A great album.
thank you. and yes, 1998 wasn't that bad of a year, was it?
If you prefer George Martin production...don't buy it.Simple.
don't ever say this to a hopeless completist ;-)
I appreciate your thoughts, however we share not one record in common when it comes to our top 10s.
so what would be yours?
@@stefanredelsteinerexperien5957 let me think about it.

Introspective grabbed my attention and put them on my radar, but behaviour is my number one.
3:45, to 3:47, Three Palm Trees, in Liverpool, England.
3:47, another palm tree.
lots of palms there (gulf stream effect)
3:45, A Paim Tree in Liverpool, Wow! .
Be sure to check out The Zealot Gene and RökFlöte. I happen to think that The Zealot Gene is a masterpiece.
Jethro Tull will always be cool in my book. So will Dire Straits and Yes.
Tull never considered themselves Prog but progressive. huge difference. Tull was considered alternative in the early days, 60's early 70's. They were never noodly or jammy like most Prog. "didnt give a fuck" definition of cool . Check out the latest RokFlote from them excellent and also full of non cheesy ancient music feel. New album coming out next year! Since you like SFTW definately check out Heavy Horses which is similar but i think better.
I know Heavy Horses, it was part of this 5 cd compilation, and I think its great, probably my number 4 behind SFTW, Minstrel and Thick As A Brick
wow, peer pressure"s a bitch?
yes, it is
Thanks for enduring some Jehtro Tull ;-)
For me season 4 and 6 are my favorite seasons. Every season has its great moments. I’m not a big fan of Denarys storyline. I don’t care for the House of Black plot line. I also don’t care for the scenes with Ramsey Snow.
I have now lived with the album a bit longer so want to add a little update to my previous comment. I was expecting "Loneliness" to be the star gem of this album as it was the first single (I think). It is hooky and well put together but sounds too familiar and the dance beat chugs a bit mechanically to my ears, perhaps in deference to their now AARP-age dance music fans (like me, lol!) who still want nostalgic "bangers" despite hanging up our dancing shoes. Instead, I had an immediate fascination with "Feel", and thought "Well, THAT is the hit single right there". However, the track I keep coming back to in the longer run is "Why Am I Dancing". It somehow manages the hat trick of being both poignantly melancholic and exuberantly joyful at the same time and the arrangement is superb. It's like a really great Abba song. So this is an album that opens with a strong 1-2-3 punch! The next cut is another autobiographical life review track, prettyish but marred by rapping that now sounds dated to me. I am still listening to the other cuts and don't particularly like "Dancing Star" or the "Schlager Hit Parade" cut. I like the "house-music-lite" flavor of "Bullet for Narcissus" but find it lyrically over-intellectualized.. The closer, "Love is the Law" is too sluggish for me but suggests the same sort of caution about love and romance expressed in the funnier "Love is a Bourgeois Construct" as well as the caution-inflected "You Choose". Neil is recycling his themes a bit but I'll still go on the ride. a solid 4 stars; buy it for the first 3 tracks alone!...
thank you, great review
Oh wow - turns out your #1 is my #1!
you know what they say about great minds. but now I am curious about your numbers 2, 3, 4 and so on...
@@stefanredelsteinerexperien5957 Ha, maybe over a cup of coffee :-) Or I might do my own ranking some time on UA-cam. But I think our lists aren't too different from each other with very few exceptions.
Lots of masterful albums to choose from anyway!
Also love that you are rocking the Smiths shirt
thank you! The Smiths are one of my favourite bands...
I enjoyed the video and also the short samples from the first track of the first album!!
In the UK, at least, their first single was an earlier version of 'Opportunities (Let's make Lots Of Money). It wasn't a hit. 'West End Girls' followed, as did the hits.
Na, du hast es dir gegeben 🙂
Dalton is absolutely my favourite!
Feel is the best track. I wish Sense of Time was also on the album (b-side for Dancing Star afaik). Has really solid track order. I just got the vinyl yesterday and it was well worth it vs streaming. Schlager Hit Parade is def the thumb sticking out, BUT it got stuck in my head! It's a very danceable arena pop song.
