While I of course wouldn’t call it a horror game, Luigi’s Mansion 1 has a different tone that makes it more creepy than the other two. I really like that about it.
Luigis mansion 1 had the most soul. Each "Boss" had their own description, relationships and and and.. plus the story just made the most sense to me, idk best game by far haha
I've only played LM3, that was a really exciting game for me as I played it when it was still relatively new.. I didn't really like it initially but I tried it again from the start recently, and I've got to say, it's kind of grown on me, and the puzzles are super smart to overcome. Multiplayer is also a riot in that game when the connection wants to work, and the graphics for Switch are mind-blowing. 4:40 Gotta love the Next Level Games hall of fame😂 There's even a reference to Fed Force there. I'd love to know what you think of that very controversial game..I've only played Blast Ball, and..I liked it, but I thought it was just a watered down Mario Strikers with Metroid Prime combat.
I vividly remember Luigi's Mansion 1 because I am a younger brother and always related so well to Luigi. I prepared myself mentally for content and characters I could relate to, but alas, the sequel didn't come out until I nearly graduated college :( Luigi, like me, was forgotten.
The 1st is definitely the best. Simpler but more charm and character. Also, the ghost and bosses were better. My only gripe is not being able to invert the controls which was a common option that should have been there.
10:55 this is one of the best aspects of the first Luigi’s Mansion for me personally. It’s the perfect length for the game it’s trying to be. It’s endlessly replayable for me in the same way Pikmin 1 is. I felt like Luigi’s Mansion 3 ran a just a bit too long for me.
Same, and I agree about Pikmin too. Actually a lot of gamecube games are relatively short by today's standards, like rogue leader and such, but I love that for replayability and polish. Id much rather have a bunch of 7-12 hour polished games than very few 100 hour games with quantity of gameplay instead of quality. I like replaying games so they're great for it
I could have sworn there was a way to get one life per mission in 2, like finding a hidden collectable per stage, maybe the bone for the ghost dog? Beyond that, agree, 1 had the most personality, I got really bored with 2's mission structure as I felt I had to explore the same area's repeatedly to find the collectables, and not gotten far in 3 yet, just wish it was more like 1.
Yeah I think you can find golden bones in the levels but I don't remember finding them very often, and yeah it does feel like awkward backtracking or duplication rather than organic exploration

I wish this series would just go full metroidvania. The first game is the closest to that and has the coolest art direction, my favourite definitely.
That's be awesome I agree it would be a good fit

My first full playthrough was 3. I enjoyed that one very much.
Keep the vids coming!
Thanks for watching! I enjoyed 3 a lot too, just a few annoyances for me.
