Vadim M Australia, and the US is a perfect example of what happens when you let old people govern countries. You get censorship or attempted censorship of things these old coots don't understand.
In the description you say 'the nightmare for gamers and developers is over.' but Cyberpunk 2077 has been censored in a similar way despite the 18+ rating
@@robbie4339 That was historically only for movies, until 2012 / 2013 games that were considered equivalent to an R18+ movie were refused classification (making them unsellable in retail stores and thus essentially banned). The nightmare for developers is far from over. There are still a whole bunch of things that can and will get your game totally banned in Australia even with the R18+ rating. Plus there are retailers who wont sell R18+ games and platforms (consoles and digital storefronts) that wont allow R18+ games on there.
I live in Australia and am proud and thankful to live in such a beautiful country but I hate the censorship of this country. Like GTA V being removed from Target because of some whinging losers. Sad.
@@altimagedesign8323 A short time after release of the retail version, R* released a patch for both PS3 and X360 to basically "Uncut" the game again. A_Stranger2256 Ik, I totally understand you because I live in Australia as well. Just for some reasons other people think that we are still at the bottom of everything, they can’t say that just because of we have more types of wild lives
Australia has an R18+ rating now thanks to the release of GTA V! It needed to comply with an R18+ rating to be sold in Australia, it was also temporarily banned from some stores, before being recensored and re released.
Australia does have an AO rating (R18+), however company’s try not too get this rating as it is not sold in most shops and requires the presentation of photo ID for purchase
the Australian classification board (ACB) has become more benevolent in recent years, they implemented the R18+ rating for video games in 2013 and therefore subsequent R* releases such as GTA V were never censored for Australia (RDR2 only received an MA15+ for some reason, despite being way more gruesome than GTA V from what I've seen), and even unbanned Manhunt (though Manhunt 2 is still banned)
hahaha i bought a copy in 2008, had none of these issues, lost the copy and then bought another in 2013 and still had no issues. in between that i played on friends' copies and had no problems whatsoever. judging from other comments and experience over the years it seems this censorship is extremely rare or even non existent. it was an interesting video though so thanks for trying
Not sure if it was different between consoles but my entire time playing GTA IV from 2008 - 2014 I had the pools of blood and the blood stains on characters and these were never patched out.
So this is what I was missing out on? Dammit, why are Australian censorship laws so tight here? It happened with HEAPS on games, like South Park: Stick of Truth, GTA 4, and all kinds of other games! ... I’m moving to America..

I'm Australian and I bought this game in 2008, I didn't have my 360 hooked up to the internet, because they didn't have wireless connectivity in the older Xbox's. So I had a brand new, completely un-patched version of the game. Here's how accurate this video is based on my experience. Ladies of the night: Completely wrong: We could choose the services and watch the animations. Blood Effects: Completely Wrong: We could make bloody footprints. I remember specifically trying to see how far we could walk with them. As well as the blood on Niko's clothing. I remember it annoying me, that the blood would stay on the clothes for far too long and it was annoying to see. Basically everything in the video is wrong.
We need to censor a game. Remove blood stains, footprints, but leave the tire marks! Oh and move the camera so you cannot see people fucking in a car, but let the people imagine the process by giving not so subtle hints. Wow seriously? Thats like closing one eye not to see something while watching with the other one...
That's off because I live in Australia. The state in NSW to be exact I could do all the same things in the uncut version. Must've been Because I got the game at a different time or something.
