Don't agree. There are no boundaries for a speedrunner, because they can complete the game in less than 12 minutes so the disabled garages are not a problem. As a result, you will see a speedrun with a rain and empty radar.
When I was 6 I got gta vc and got the following anti security measures - Every time I fail a mission it rains - No audio in the radio(I thought the radio was just there for no apparent reason) - No pedestrians - Can't save the game - Can't see the stats I thought all of this was part of the original game But after 10 years seeing this video got me realise that I was playing the cracked version.
@@nameloc2035 This might be possible through disabling certain checks and changing values to make the game believe that it is being run from a cracked version. This is all speculation though as I have no idea exactly how the game works in this regard.
8:07 This specific anti-piracy measure triggers randomly on the Steam version. It also disables mission markers, so driving around aimlessly until you bump into a pink tower of light will not work, though you can still trigger them if you stand in the right spot. Fortunately blips & markers come back in this case after you leave the area, presumably as the game runs another check and realises you have a legitimate version afterall.

The Pirates nowadays have absolutely no problem beating anti piracy measures which is why most companies dont bother with more then a DRM, hoping that itll buy them enough time to rake in sales and frustrate impatient pirates into one, but even those get beat.

The weather rain code is pretty smart. One big reason I love replaying Vice City is that tropical Miami feel to it. If my first experience playing it was like this, VC would be just as untouched as GTA 3 is to me.
Fun fact: In many of the cracks you can find the sniper rifle is still butchered. It can be tedious to find working versions for certain mods (ie old asi mods that were compiled before better compatibility with various versions was achieved).
I pirated GTA IV, It had drunk cam activated, I thought it was just a bug, So I found solutions online! _Just copied 2 DLL files and never had the problem!_
I bought a copy, and the fact that "feature" was so well known, when I had a control bug that caused constant rotation, I actually got banned (temporary) from the R* forums for asking what was happening.... Wasn't impressed.
Without pickups, you cannot buy properties, so you cannot make revenue, which won't trigger the last couple of missions. So no, without pickups, you can't complete the game.
True, but as explained here, since there's only a 12.5% chance of that happening each time a fire truck is spawned by the game, it's technically possible to get to that point in the game without the pickups being disabled, it's just not very likely.

@@bisis98 It was a crack based on a RIP (like MYTH/PDM and other groups used to do, and groups like DS and SiMPLEX continue to do) so the calls to the radio files were set to reference only the one radio file to allow the others to be removed from a RIP copy to save space. Full ISO (BIN/CUE) format ones with proper retail cracks wouldn't have this behavior. Definitely NOT anti-piracy though.

I think San Andreas had them and i know one. In the first mission the cutscene where Sweet trying to escape from Ballas wasn't triggering at all. All you do was waiting and nothing more. But sometimes it was triggering. Most of the times, it wasn't.
You should do GTA IV, because the drunk cam is not the only thing that pirated copies have. For example, in No.1, Brucie's Comet is locked if you have a pirated version, computers don't work, the final mission breaks, Uncle Vlad breaks, Clean Getaway breaks, the bank doors don't open in Three Leaf Clover and the police computer doesn't work
The final mission in GTA IV was broken for most PC players though. I remember that cause I bought the game for PC played to the last mission and wasn't able to climb into the helicopter after the dirtbike jump. I tried getting the QTE, died sweating pressing that fucking button but I was just not able to make it. For some reason they coupled that event to your frame rate and never fixed it for the PC port (not like GTA IV was a good port to begin with). So with 30fps on console pressing a button at least every 10 frames was easy. But doing so with 200fps makes it much more difficult. Even 60fps was near impossible to do. The fix was to pause the game, get in the task manager, bind GTA IV to a single core only, get back in game, climb onboard while everything is choppy af, and switch it back to normal cores.
To be honest these things were only in the first ever pirated release. I played the Razor version like 8 years ago and it had no problems, ran just like the paid game.
The Gibbs Guy I can agree. There’s no cheat codes and you can’t crouch in remastered version but at least when you die or arrested you keep your weapons

When I was younger ,I bought a pre owned copy of vice city from a game shop in Memphis. the game worked fine for a while, but one day as I was playing I ran into a certain spot on the map and just started falling through it. it was super weird then he just fell and died .dude I broke that game so fast and bought a brand new one from walmart freaky stuff lol

Which is always going to be the fate of games which use driver-level DRM on PC since those will *always* eventually become unfeasible to keep working after the publisher loses interest, like for example in Windows 10 Microsoft deliberately blocked SafeDisc and numerous (older) versions of Securom from ever working again because of persistent security issues in them.

GTA4's DRM is not updated anymore so you essentially need a crack for your legit version, you can't update and play a real version now

Which is always going to be the fate of games which use driver-level DRM on PC since those will *always* eventually become unfeasible to keep working after the publisher loses interest, like for example in Windows 10 Microsoft deliberately blocked SafeDisc and numerous (older) versions of Securom from ever working again because of persistent security issues in them.

Permanent rain wouldn't bother me. It messes up the driving, possibly flying as well, but it doesn't make it impossible to play.
