Your videos showed up in my feed for some reason so I’ve been watching them. I’m amazed at how clean everything is there. I’ve looked close in all that I’ve seen so far and have never seen any trash anywhere. Not even a gum wrapper. The people in the US need to take some lessons. Very enjoyable videos. Thanks
Another great trip! That bridge is beautiful. Every time I see your meals I'm surprised by the amount of food for the cost. I appreciate how you showcase everything on the ship. Thank you!
My husband and I did the reverse journey from Shinmoji to Osaka in May 2018. We stayed in a dorm. We love travelling by overnight ferry in Japan. We are from Malaysia and find ferry journeys in Japan convenient and a great way to combine transport and overnight accommodation. We always opt for overnight ferries if fits with our travel plans. We did another long ferry journey from Maizuru to Otaru in October 2019. Our latest ferry journey was in June this year from Toyo Port in Ehime Prefecture to Osaka Nanko Port. I recall that the ferry from Shinmoji to Osaka was the liveliest. Most other ferries had fewer passengers.
Looked like another satisfying overnight trip. Though the wait to dine was long, the food available looked like it was worth the wait. Room was very nice indeed. Thank you for sharing with us SJT ❤️ Now on to join you on the Coto Coto trip again, woohoo!! 🤗🚂🚃🚃
❤❤ Hello Mr, Solo Travel. I'm stoked, Another awesome video. You can be funny at times, but I enjoy going with you on all your journeys. Thank You for letting me tag along for the ride
9:30 - "I've become more disciplined" - I snort in disbelief. 13:55 - disbelief cancelled. 17:30 - disbelief reinstated. 19:10 - Funeko loooks ready to clobber somebody with that pan! The cabin is better than some hotel rooms I've used. The hull colour makes a refreshing change to the usual white body.
That view at 5:28 was gorgeous. Now I understand why all my favorite Japanese games have scenes that take place at sunset - they really now how to appreciate good lighting over there.
I’ve been watching your videos for quite sometime now. They’re very entertaining and informative. I started visiting Japan in 2015 and I fell in love with the country. Will be visiting again in Feb 2025. My 5th visit. It would have been more were it not for the covid lockdowns.
Long time watcher and am currently mad at myself because I swore I was subscribed and I wasn’t. Until now! Your videos bring me so much calmness and joy in the chaotic life I have with two toddlers and a teenager. Thank you. 😊
Perfect video to finish the day. Yummy food and a "suite"XD I really must try a ferry when I finally visit Japan. EDIT: there's a buthtub! And a cup! It is a suite
Hahaha, someday you will not eat the cookies before dinner. I have faith in you. But until then, consider them an "appetizer," something to get the taste buds going for dinner. At least you will fest up to eating them, LMAO!! Looking forward to the next STJ adventure on the "high seas!"
@@loosilu I have kind of an excuse because they just built a large suspension bridge in my home town (the Gordie Howe Bridge) and i wanted to see which was more impressive - the Akashi Kaikyo bridge won!
The ferry looked really nicely decorated with the stylish tables and chairs. Your suite was comfortable looking and they offered a turndown service too! Your dinner looked yummy and delicious. Could go for the corn soup right now as we got 5"(12.7cm) of wet snow today. ❤️
Hi STJ-san! I started watching your ferry videos during the pandemic, when you would be about the only passenger. Sure is different now! If I may offer a suggestion, I would love to see what the inside of the public bath looks like, if you are able to do so when there are no users and with the ferry line permission, of course.
Commenting for the algo. Yes, Okra is slimy, and I was surprised they have it in Japan. It is big in the southern US and they often put a dry spiced breading on it and either bake or more often fry it. Love watching your videos. :)
Great trip. Looks like in recent time plenty of Japanese Travel Vlogger (including you) making a ferry trip between Fukuoka area (Shinmoji or Fukuoka) and Keihanshin area (Osaka or Kobe).
I love the ship tours, very pleased you include them. What is the machine on top of the microwave cabinet, in the vending machine area? It was next to a machine that looked like it sold cigarettes.
A suite over here is two fold down bunks and a wet bath. Which os no bath just a tiny shower with a drain in the floor and straight flush toilet, no features. No nightwear, no toothbrush, and whatever you want in the fridge you pay for in advance extra above the fare. Our food is more expensive and uninspiring. ❤
_"I woke up early because I was hungry"_ Yes, *hungry for curry* ... 😄 Glad to see you choose healthier options, STJ-san, I worry about your eating habits sometimes 🙇
Despite watching ALL of your videos, I still find it strange to eat curry for breakfast !! BUT watching your videos has made me eat raw eggs & adding raw yokes to a meal is AMAZING so thank you! 😀
04:20 Yes right i agree too.. it might not be a suite.. more like a deluxe two bed.. but in Japan.. maybe such a room is considered as a suite.. where in many other countries its just a deluxe
Love your videos, the ferries really serve up good accommodations. My only concern is, I am an American citizen. So, my breakfast food is quite different from what they are serving. I would need black coffee, toast, bacon and eggs. I couldn’t eat the curry or the Miso, but definitely would for dinner.
Cool fact: Even though the two towers of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge are locally plumb, they are not parallel. You can take the measurement of how out of parallel they are and the distance of the two towers and calculate the circumference of the Earth.
It's crazy the difference in companies and what you receive for the price Think this was the best room, good food that you heat up so it's never cold . Probably why there are more people on board
I love those videos on ferrys in Japan. I would so much like to take some of those ferries myself, but I get brutally seasick at the slightest wave, and therefore, this is not something I can do myself. So I am extra thankful, that I can enjoy it online.
Wow, lot of people this time. I will call this ship Steel Angel Kurumi. And they didn't finish making the beds, the blankets are folded weird. Just for Schlittz and giggles, you could buy a UV flashlight and show us if those cabins are really clean or not. And why so many air-cleaners? Is the air in Japan any dirtier than ... Beijing? Moscow? Bloemfontein? Charleston, WV? At the NEW New Delhi DELI?
I'm not sure I've ever seen such a crowded ferry in any of your videos. I wonder why. Public holiday? School trips? Or just a particularly popular route?
I dont understand, why in double rooms in Japan, where its most likely that couples will stay in, there are almost always two single beds. Does anyone know or has a good explanation about it ?
My Japanese parents in law sleep in separate beds at home as well, the mother was miffed the had to share bed for one night at a hotel can't say i asked in detail but just stuff like snoring and moving around it seems
No, it's not a suite, but $179 USD for that room is a bargain, when you consider how much airfare would have been AND getting a hotel room for the night, too.
It's so eerie to see only few people travel considering it's almost holiday season. You're so lucky you have the privilege to enjoy this luxurious life.
6:18 If you are the only person in the room, are you allowed to drink both tea and water bottles if you want? I was hoping you would do the claw machine.
I think I know what you will eat. Chicken Nanban for ¥680, and then maybe a soup curry for ¥770. But there's a nice meat sauce spaghetti on the menu, so I can't be sure.
22:51 don’t worry about not wearing clothes, I’d already closed my eyes to give you some privacy and didn’t see your comment at all about you wearing clothes 😂
As soon as I saw curry on the breakfast menu, I knew what you were ordering in the morning... 🤣
same! and my goodness, how much I have learned about Japan from following this gentleman.
I'm so glad they let you take that little cat towel. Cute little cat-boat 🥺
