It’s such a great all rounder and remains one of my favorite ships in game as well! Originally it was supposed to have 4xS5 but the devs had clipping issues on the bottom half. Here’s to hoping they fix that for the final release 😁🤞
I always view the andromeda as sort of the "best" gunship in thr game for single pilot / small crew. The 2 s5 and 2 s4 pilot guns boast some of the highest pilot dps, *slightly less than the 600i* but the gimballed s4's make up for the slight loss of dps imo, plus the 2 turrets with 2 s2's are solid as well.. the 52 missiles are the cherries ontop, which makes it PERFECT for long bounty hunting trips with little need to restock at atations between missions. Yes!!! This is a fantastic synopsis of this ship, which despite its early release, deserves more love in this community! The Andromeda is a god-tier combat gunship in game, especially for a skeleton crew! Atop that, the versatility with its snub, turrets, cargo and massive payload give it so much versatiliy. This is why I tell people that are on the ropes looking for an upgrade from the Cutless-Black to look nowhere else but the Taurus. It has the same pilot firepower and range with extra space for hauling. I own the Andromeda simply because I have plenty of cargo ships but deep down I feel like I might end up owning 2 to 3 of the 4 variants.. Mainly the Taurus and Andromeda but the Phoenix looks like the perfect luxury ship for someone who hates Origin lol.
One of the best Andromeda reviews out there. Nice work! I was torn between a Taurus and Andromeda, but I think this is the best all-around bet. I mainly tranport quantanium but it's not like I haul huge amounts, so the Andromeda cargo capacity is totally adequate. The added combat functionality is a plus. I'd rather skip the Taurus and go straight to a Caterpillar for huge hauls anways.
Thank you so much, I’m really glad that you enjoyed this review! I love the Constellation Andromeda so much, and think it’s probably the best of the entire line, except if you want to buy the Taurus for the best value! And I agree, I it has really good carrying capacity but leverages even more combat capability! And I think if you want to really step up the game going with a caterpillar is definitely an even better bet! And thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video and share your thoughts, I really appreciate your engagement!
Thank you so much! I’m really glad that you’ve been enjoying this series and fully intend to continue making these videos! Cool vid. I recently upgraded to the Andromeda and don't regret it one bit, it's an incredibly versatile ship. The struts from the cockpit view can sometimes be a pain but you ignore them most of the time.
Thank you so much, I’m really glad that you enjoyed this video! And the Constellation Andromeda is such an amazing ship, with its incredible fire power and overall utility! AndI find that the struts aren’t too bad as well, and can even be helpful when blocking out direct sunlight, although I definitely welcome the slight redesign to come! And thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video and share your thoughts, I really appreciate your engagement!
Great video as always! Another great use for the Andromeda would be as a daily driver if NPCs are hired for the turrets. Great range, decent amount of cargo, able to transport small vehicles, racer/snub/scout attached and all the amenities on board a space pilot needs to keep rollin. The only other ship I would consider as my go to choice for a daily driver would be the Mercury Star Runner since it can fit through small jump points (from q&a before it got bigger tho) and thus, cut down travel distance/time. Anyway, I love the Andromeda. Its probably the best multi-crew ship for people like me. I dont need to gather 5-15+ online friends via discord to get the most out of it (like in a Polaris/Idris) but can instead play with only 3 other people. With NPCs manning the turrets, only 1 friend is needed to man the snub. Perfect for a dad gamer like me :). I intent to use the Andromeda primarily for high risk, high reward cargo runs into dangerous space. Buying drugs or hot wares. I will use the Archimedes as the snub tho. I hope you keep up these videos. Dont think any other SC content creator does these. Looking forward to a "5 best uses for the MSR" video. Its one of the most versitile ships when all its features are done.
Thank you so much, I’m really glad that you’ve been enjoying these videos! I will definitely be keeping this series up, so keep an eye out for many more of these videos to come 😁👍 And I love your use case for this ship as a high risk cargo runner! I think that really leverages some of the best parts of its design and should be an awesome platform to deter most would be pirates from attempting to pilfer its hold! And I’m really excited to do this video format for the MSR! It is such a beautiful ship and offers so much utility, it’s truly amazing! And while I don’t have a timeline for it atm, keep an eye out for that one in the near future! And thank you for continuing to take the time to watch these videos and share your thoughts and support, I really appreciate your ongoing engagement throughout this channel!
I remember when I first started playing SC, the Conni was one of the ships I loved the look of and its capabilities made it something I wanted next for my beginner fleet. Over time I changed to the Freelance Max to focus on hauling, and since then I haven't really looked back at the Conni because of all the newer ships. But it is a solid ship that I hope to enjoy flying again some day.
I feel like a lot of people felt the same way, and gravitated towards the Connie as one of their first big purchases, given its marketing and overall utility! But the freelancer max is an excellent ship, and offers a ton of similar performance, in a slightly smaller package! And thank you so much for continuing to take the time to watch these videos and share your feedback, I really appreciate your ongoing engagement throughout!
I always toss the Freelancer MAX against the Taurus. Usually the Taurus comes out on top seeing how it beats the MAX in every way but still, I have a softspot for that ship. It's the only ship in SC that really feels like a "Truckers" ship. While the winner is definitely the Taurus, the MAX will come into a special sweet spot once jump points become a thing. It can fit through the smallest where the Taurus would have to take the longer way to the same destination. For a trucker, time is money. And in this case the MAX is a clear winner.
@@durtyred86 I would agree that from a statistical standpoint, the Taurus is better, but that the MAX is just fun to fly and makes cargo hauling an enjoyable profession.
@@WookieeRage for sure. Once cargo refactoring comes in, I do ponder if it'll still be as fun seeing how It doesn't have a tractor beam lol. 😅😅 I wonder, are the engines on the MAX supposed to be to be Vtol?? I can't remember if it's supposed to be or not.
@@durtyred86 There are more and more better options than a MAX, with every new cargo ship. I'm just old fashioned in my appreciation, but a pragmatist in my fleet (C2, Hull C, and even a Cutty Black for small cargo run versatility).
Oddly enough, you can fit either the P-52 Merlin or P-72 Archimedes (from the Phoenix) in the cargo bay of the Taurus. No glitchy docking mechanic needed, just careful piloting. The Merlin fits easier due to the Archimedes gun mounts, but can still be done. The feeling when you launch from the deploying bay, and return home is something else.
That’s very cool! Might not be the best use of the space haha, but at least the Taurus isn’t getting left out! But that cargo grid on it is HUGE, it just has so much potential! And thank you for taking the time to watch this video and share your feedback, I really appreciate your engagement!
Yep, however the original Constellation had the P-52 fit in the cargo bay, but of course that one took all the cargo room. The docking mechanic is clunky in SC, and I wish they'd have made it a bit more like Elite, but without the fade to black transition. Here is a Connie concept/release pic with it in there before the rework: cdn.wcnews.com/newestshots/full/Constellation-2.jpg I really enjoy your videos because you suggest alternative uses than the primary design or popular ones for ships, and that particular brand of emergent multi-role gameplay (especially with less of those sorts of ships in game yet) is a core reason I love the game. I always like to see what you come up with, and your ideas are cool enough that I absolutely don't mind that your opening tag line ends with a mix of Dig32's and Subliminal's style. ;D Thank you for making the creative and short idea filled videos you do, Vici Deum!
@@chaoscorgi9348 Yeah I’m really hoping that they end up smoothing out the transition for the animation and make it a lot less clunky! And I’m really glad that you enjoyed my uses for the different ships! I definitely try and pick what I think each would work best for, and try and leverage my experience in game and predictions for future mechanics as well! And I really appreciate that comparison, those are two excellent creators that I really enjoy watching!
Thank you for another great video, Vici! I really do like the Connie, I just can't seem to LOVE it. I think it's because it's a bit too "open space" for my taste. I like having different rooms in a large ship. As for it's uses, I think you're spot on. To go even further, I think it's possibilities are near limitless. If one would want to own ONE single ship in Star Citizen that isn't cost prohibitive to operate, can do everything and can be very well solo'd the Connie is very hard to beat! Cheers!
Thank you so much! I’m really glad you’ve been enjoying this series 😁👍 Although I completely understand your sentiments about this ship! The Connie line definitely lacks a lot of the refinements seen in the latest ship interiors; especially compared to something like the MSR, it’s night and day haha. It really suffers a lot from mostly unused open spaces. I’m hoping that future redesigns help to use this space a bit better, or even just add more features into the pre-existing spaces. And I agree, even despite those limitations I think the constellation line has some of the best utility out of any ships in the game, even when just flying solo; it’s got a little bit for everyone! And thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video and for your ongoing support and encouragement throughout this channel, I really appreciate it!
Thank you so much, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying this series! And I feel the same way whenever I make these videos, SC just does such a great job with their ship designs!
Thank you so much, I’m really glad that you’ve been enjoying this series! Unfortunately I have several other ships already in production, but I plan on covering all of them, so keep an eye out for when I do go over the retaliator! And thanks for taking the time to watch this video and share your suggestion, I really appreciate your engagement!
My starter was the Cutty Black but the Andro was my first additional ship purchase and I don't regret it at all, actually the only ship I kind of regret is the Carrack because it can't be used as a solo fighting ship otherwise I enjoy it as well.
Congrats on those pickups, the Andromeda and Carrack are fantastic ships! And there really is such a big upgrade once you go from the Cutlass to the Connie series, even the Taurus is well worth it imo! But I feel you about the Carrack's lack of pilot weapons; I think that's what makes the 600i Explorer so appealing to me hahaha
The Aquila is my Constellation of choice. It gets the most flight time out of all my ships. I just wish the rover could be loaded from the hangar instead of having to fly down to planet and do it. It would also be cool if the scanner turret could be swapped for a gun turret when the need arises.
The Aquila is a fantastic variant out of the lineup, and I agree completely that vehicle spawning from hangars is a much needed feature. AFAIK it’s still intended to be implemented, they just haven’t gotten around to it yet. But hopefully we see it soon 🤞And swapping the scanner for a turret could be a really great feature if they open that option up in the future!
The Andromeda is such a fantastic platform, congrats on the pickup! It’s still my favorite of the lineup! It’s versatile and capable, while offering multi-crew but easily soloable!
This video is a perfect representation of the Andromeda’s capabilities. I LOVE this ship. The cockpit strips dont bother me at all although they could probably be made much thinner. Now my question! I dont seem to use missiles that much as the guns wipe everything out. The Taurus has much more cargo/vehicle capacity but only half the missiles and no snub fighter. Guns/shields are the same ( minus bottom turret which i have never used). I am seriously considering the Taurus as i should still be able to do VHRT/EHT but have better options for cargo. I have never yet used the snub. Any views or experience from anyone. The Andromeda is for me the best all round ship in the game.
Thank you so much, I’m really glad you enjoyed this video! I’ve spent a lot of time with both the Constellation Andromeda and Taurus, and think they are both excellent ships within the platform! And you pose an excellent question, and I think it will really come down to your preferred use case, whether combat or cargo? The missiles still need improvement, but are a great way to soften up targets before an engagement! The snub fighter is an excellent little runabout, which can provide additional utility or moderate combat assistance in fights! I’ve used it to jump ship when the Andromeda is being focused fired, and I think it will have more pronounced uses as gameplay systems develop! But with all that said, the Taurus can certainly carry a lot more cargo, has a tractor beam and a smugglers hold, so it has strong advantages in that department! But it’s also slightly larger, so it does have a bit more sluggish handling. Really though, they’re both excellent ships that offer a lot of value for their pricepoint. But I hope this can at least had a little bit more light on the choice between the two! And thank you for taking the time to watch this video and share your thoughts, I really appreciate your engagement!
tbh the only time I find myself using the snub is when I do bunker missions. I'll leave my Andromeda above the site and take the snub down mostly because of fuel from leaving planet surfaces lol and the bunker turrets taking pot shots at my shop while I'm helping them. or if there's a cave mission / boarding mission. it's not too often
I'm buying this has my first big ship, I got 6mil for a budget I love the look of it and versatile it has. thank you for the video making Me think I wanna leave work early now 🙃
Hahaha, well tell your boss I gave you the day off! The Constellation Andromeda really is such a fantastic ship, and with 6 million you’ll have more than enough, even after upgrades! Just make sure to pickup a Crossfield or XL1 Quantum drive, as the stock Bolton is rather slow; although incredibly fuel efficient! And thank you so much for taking the time to watch this and share your thoughts! I really appreciate your engagement and am glad you enjoyed the video 😁👍

You’re very welcome, I’m really glad this guide helped you decide! The MSR is such a nice looking/well designed ship, but it really suffers from its lack of features being properly implemented in-game. In that regard, the Andromeda will absolutely maximize your utility, and with a platform that really makes the most of it in cargo and combat! Enjoy this awesome ship! It really is! As a snubcraft, it’s a fantastic runabout with good combat performance. And as they add exploration elements into the game, I’m sure its utility will only increase further!
I was gonna save up for something like the Cutty black (just started after having been absent since 3.14) because i wanted to go ROC mining. But with how versitile the Andromeda is. It litterally has everything one could need. Space for the ROC. Waayyy better firepower for the pilot when going solo opening so many more oppertunities for bounties and similar missions. Way more shields and health. Cargo space, and even a little snub fighter in the back for if you have a 3rd or 4th friend who might wanna get in on a ship vs ship fight to take some heat off you. Honestly the only downside i see after both having tried it finally during this Invictus and info from this video. Is the pilot view and the fact that there still is no table by the couch yet.
Welcome back! And the Taurus really is a fantastic platform, that leverages a LOT more utility over the cutlass black! The increased firepower and shields are especially helpful, in taking down targets and surviving encounters! But the Constellation lineup definitely need a refresh! Thankfully they have a slight rework coming that should address the struts and those issues like the broken table and bathroom in the habitation section! I’m also hoping they add a small kitchenette alongside it 👌
I like the conny, but it does need some work. I don't think the ursa should be such a tight squeeze. They should widen it and therefore perhaps lengthen a bit to keep it looking similar. They also should change the struts for visibility. It doesn't make sense in a universe where the carrack and many other ships can have shaped glass that the conny is still using only flat panes of glass like they are in the medieval era still where glass blowing was still in it's infancy. The aquilla would be easiest to solve by making the centre struts shape away from the centre as apposed to into the centre like it is currently. The rest could uses a method similar to the carrack and just remove that centre strut altogether. But there should be a viable access to the ursa's side door when parked in the cargo too. Why the tight squeeze? Just needs 1/2 a meter or a meter either side to accommodate an easier loading and unloading of the rover and allow better access. Extra width and therefore length might also accommodate room for a shower or maybe a kitchen counter for coffee machines or something. The Aquilla being an exploration vessel doesn't really seem like a ship you would want to live on for too long without a shower or kitchen amenities.
I absolutely agree with all the points you made! And thankfully, I foresee them making a lot of these changes! I know they specifically mentioned de-strutting the Connie’s, but I think they will get more love during the gold polish pass as well. For starters, the living quarters are pretty lackluster, especially on the Aquila lacking even a simple microwave; even the Mustang Beta offers more for a living “exploration ship.” And I think increasing the internal proportions on the ship, or even reworking the cargo area to better accommodate the URSA would be an excellent, much needed improvement! And thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video and share your thoughts, I really appreciate your engagement! And now you’ve got me chuckling, thinking about a bunch of medieval knights ship building for RSI 😂🙌
And about cocpit struts.. i prefere aquila since im solo pilot. And if not im the gunner onboard a friends ship. so having a ship capable of traveling better to Pyro, with better longer scans, with much better visibility , same defences and only downside is less missiles, which i dont often use. Its the Connie for me
The Aquila is such a great Constellation, especially with the reduced struts and better scanning! Honestly you really can’t go wrong with any, and the S2 missile payload they all come with is usually more than enough as it is!
I really like the Andromeda, but I love the Phoenix, so I'm curious to see how the Conny series will be updated when they give it a Gold Standard pass. I think it'll get a major overhaul, and hopefully it'll lose some of the cockpit windshield struts. I'd like to see the windshield become more like the Mantis'. It currently looks like they were going for a style similar to the Polaris, but since the Conny's bridge is much smaller than the Polaris, I think it loses the desired effect (see RSI website for Polaris pic of cockpit view to see how well struts works on a bigger ship). I expect the Andromeda, Aquila, and Taurus to all get significant improvements to their interiors whenever they do get around to updating them, as well as the Phoenix. Since it's CR's favorite ship, I'm guessing the Gold Standard updates will put the Conny series on everyone's radar.
Absolutely agreed! I can’t wait to see the reworks that they put through for the entire constellation line! And I imagine they’ll update the habitation area pretty significantly as well! And I agree, there’s just something amazing about the Phoenix, especially with the wraparound and ceiling glass panels, it’s just “chefs kiss!” And thank you for taking the time to watch this video and share your feedback, I really appreciate your engagement!
It’s such a fantastic ship, and definitely a top pick for me as well! And after the recent updates it’s gotten a lot of love from the community too; with multi-crew in the turret capacity changes, and it’s handling redesigns! And thank you so much for taking the time to watch this video and share your thoughts, I really appreciate your engagement!

It’s a really fantastic ship, and we’ll worth the in-game pickup! Also, you can rent this ship very inexpensively at the rental kiosks, so you can start earning some serious cash towards your eventual full ownership, while flying it right now! The Andromeda is especially good at bounties and can stack them very quickly together 👌
*Just note the stock quantum drive, the Bolon is rather slow so you’ll want to clear bounties within one system (just finish your certifications first)!
I really like what the ship offers. But the dated inside, poor layout and space use on the ship makes me wait and see if a similar sized ship that will release in the future probably be a better fit.
The Andromeda really is a great ship with a ton of versatility and combat potential, but I agree it’s in dire need of another refresh, especially the hab section!
Excellent video friend Vici, I am a new player and this video made me decide to buy the Andromeda. I love the real sci fi spaceship look with how versatile it is. I particularly like it for bounty hunting and I have a question about that. In the current patch 3.17.1 is it still a good combat platform? and what configuration would you recommend for VHRT and ERT missions, because I have noticed that now the NPCs attack in packs and there are no shields that can last long when 4 or 5 enemies attack at the same time. Thank you and continue with these videos, they are the best I have seen about SC. PS: written with the google translate, sorry for my poor english.
Thank you so much, I’m really glad you enjoyed this video and my series! And congratulations on the Andromeda pickup, it’s such an amazing ship! For VHRT/ERT, I recommend rocking the CF447, and luring the targets away in a straight line; decouple at your fastest speed and let them chase you, slowly picking off them as they approach! I usually prioritize 50/50 weapons and shields and it typically does the job well for me! But they’ve definitely gotten harder in 3.17 👌
@@ViciDeum Thanks for the tips, it sounds reasonable since the Connie is quite slow to maneuver, very similar to the Rocinante maneuver in The Expans series, I'll put it into practice, thanks.
The dated interior is the thing that puts me off liking the Andromeda and Taurus especially. I do like the fancy Phoenix tho...if only they would do something to make the crew area better.
The dated interior on the Andromeda and Taurus are really rough, but I do expect that they will give the lineup a gold polish pass that fixes it up a bit, as well as add some more functionality to those crew quarters! Hell, the Aquila doesn’t even have a kitchen! But I agree, the Phoenix is downright stunning and visually by far the nicest out of any of them! Yes! I just logged in and tested this again to confirm and it worked perfectly for me; although your mileage may vary depending on server performance! And thank you for taking the time to watch this video and share that question, I really appreciate the feedback and engagement!
first of... its outright criminal that you dont have 100x more subs.. and 2nd thing.. any plans on doing constellation aquila feels like its missing :D
Seems like reading developer descriptions over some nice looking general footage. Would be interested in a technical review (considering ship stats, how it can perform under various conditions, etc.), but this video seems too basic to be useful (at least the part I watched).
Yes, this review was more of a general overview than something super specific! Checkout SubliminalTV or Farrister's guides on ships for something more in-depth! Sadly though, the stats are constantly changing with SC's updates, so they tend to get outdated fairly quickly; and one of the reasons I chose to focus more generally!
Absolutely! So to get the P-52 Merlin to detach, after turning on the ship you hit N to disengage the auto dock and then tap control to strafe down! After you’ll target the Connie, hit N to initiate the dock, and then fly in while aligning your docking pip to the one shown on screen 😁👍
Not currently, but the plan is to allow AI blades to slave any turrets to pilot control (at least as fixed guns), once that tech is properly implemented!
I got issue i was trying to buy AD4B .. but seems like you cannot.. No one can. Centermass has bugged elevator across all servers and regions. So its a patch issue not an bug. And Hur l5 and l3 weapons shop would say just "Failed transaction error"
That’s a great question! It’s got good performance for a ship of its size, but is definitely a bit more sluggish just given how big it is! And fuel consumption isn’t too bad either!
I absolutely agree! Not only do they need a polish pass to make the bathroom, table and some of the other pieces functional, but I agree that it still needs an overall slight redesign as well! I fully suspect that this series will get that, along with some much needed strut visibility improvements! But after that, I think this whole line of ships will really shine! And I think if you want to really step up the game going with a caterpillar is definitely an even better bet!

I will definitely be keeping this series up, so keep an eye out for many more of these videos to come 😁👍
And I love your use case for this ship as a high risk cargo runner!

I wonder, are the engines on the MAX supposed to be to be Vtol??
Here is a Connie concept/release pic with it in there before the rework:

I really enjoy your videos because you suggest alternative uses than the primary design or popular ones for ships, and that particular brand of emergent multi-role gameplay (especially with less of those sorts of ships in game yet) is a core reason I love the game.
I always like to see what you come up with, and your ideas are cool enough that I absolutely don't mind that your opening tag line ends with a mix of Dig32's and Subliminal's style. ;D
Thank you for making the creative and short idea filled videos you do, Vici Deum!

My first Constellation was the Taurus but I found it boring for combat so I now have the Andromeda and love the massive missile loadout :)

As a solo pilot, this is my 'Big Boat' I love the Connie!
It’s such a great solo ship! It gives you enough room to feel like you’re in something substantial, without being too overwhelming!
I am looking at upgrading to this ship, you just helped me decide. I have the MSR, but the Andromeda will give me better firepower and shielding *ahem* for cargo ofttimes of a less than legal nature...😏
Anyhoo, data running is not a thing yet, so Andromeda it is.
Thank you for helping me decide.

Holy shit that merlin in the back is a good bit of kit.
For starters, the living quarters are pretty lackluster, especially on the Aquila lacking even a simple microwave; even the Mustang Beta offers more for a living “exploration ship.”
And I think increasing the internal proportions on the ship, or even reworking the cargo area to better accommodate the URSA would be an excellent, much needed improvement!
Honestly you really can’t go wrong with any, and the S2 missile payload they all come with is usually more than enough as it is!
brilliant video one of the best I have seen on the Connie
Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m really glad you enjoyed this video!
I'm just going to get the Connie just about to get to my 5 mill getting there slowly
Yay I just bought this ship yesterday
Congratulations on this pickup, the Andromeda is a fantastic ship!
And I agree, there’s just something amazing about the Phoenix, especially with the wraparound and ceiling glass panels, it’s just “chefs kiss!”

This is going to be my next ship. Will take some time to save up.
@@ViciDeum Thanks for the tips. I managed to mine $1 million today, so ill be able to buy it tomorrow once the refining is done.

Is still worth it in 3.18? i'm looking for a multi crew ship. I just love the design, but I'm not sure if it holds up.
The Andromeda is a fantastic ship, albeit in a dated design. But its S3 shield with a 100,000 HP pool really soaks a lot of abuse and gives it really good sustain!

Het i have a question i bought this ship yesterday but i dont know how to get the ship in the back out can you help me?
Absolutely! So to get the P-52 Merlin to detach, after turning on the ship you hit N to disengage the auto dock and then tap control to strafe down! After you’ll target the Connie, hit N to initiate the dock, and then fly in while aligning your docking pip to the one shown on screen 😁👍

Not currently, but the plan is to allow AI blades to slave any turrets to pilot control (at least as fixed guns), once that tech is properly implemented!
hmm.. can u fit Nova Tank into it?
That’s a great question, but you unfortunately cannot! The Nova is a bit too big. The largest ground vehicle the Andromeda can fit is the Ursa Rover.
I got issue i was trying to buy AD4B .. but seems like you cannot.. No one can. Centermass has bugged elevator across all servers and regions. So its a patch issue not an bug. And Hur l5 and l3 weapons shop would say just "Failed transaction error"
