I'm sure they probably would have if Tim hadn't contracted COVID, cuz I can imagine them making more of these during the lockdown, and they would essentially have become Radio Goodies.
When it comes to summing up my feelings on The Big Ben Theory, I can only echo everything you’ve said in your review Tengy. When I first listened to The Big Ben Theory, I found it so great that I actually listened to it again straight after. If there was ever a reason to believe in alternate timelines/parallel universes, it’s that somewhere in a alternate timeline/parallel universe we are all listening to 12 episodes (and maybe more) of audio goodyness. I remember saying on The Goodies Facebook Group only recently that I would sell my soul for just b/w copies of Broaden Your Mind, but now that I think about it, I’d actually sell my soul to hear the 12 audio adventures (Over 2 series with 6 episodes each) as originally intended. Another thing that I personally found great about The Big Ben Theory is that it was released as a new episode in my lifetime, think of it like “I was there when...” (if you can understand what I mean by that). If anyone hasn’t listened to The Goodies Podcast interview with Barnaby Eaton-Jones about Avengers Dissemble, then I highly recommend it, as it answered all the questions that I had about things like “can we expect more novels” (yes we can, 11 more at least, as they have 11 other plot lines they can adapt into novellas). Credit to Ben Rohde for his excellent work on the DVD like cover for The Big Ben Theory.
I know just what you mean about a new episode being released in your time - there is something extra wonderful in that. I'm glad to know that others share my feelings about this audio, because it very much engages the feelings, I think, if you loved the show. I haven't read Avengers Dissemble yet but I would love to. :)
Never heard of this! Definitely will check it out. What a little treat. It's heart-breaking that they were looking to do more before Tim's tragic passing. Not sure if it interests you, Tengy, but I'd definitely like to see a review of that Goodies novel .
Omg, i have GOT to hear this. Seeing you get so emotional is so heart-warming. Given that Tim is no longer with us, id say this serves as a fantastic send off for the boys.
That was a wonderful look at something I still haven't heard yet. And I'm a huge Goodies fan! After seeing this I now know I must now get hold of this! Thank you Tengy!
You know it had flown under my radar too somehow, until recently. Very very much worth a listen. I hope you get as much out of it as I did. Let me know what you think. :)
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Seems like a lot of Goodies fans hadn't heard about this, I hadn't until recently either. Very glad I had a chance to hear it though. Just magic. :)
Hmmm..., never heard about this Tengy. I might hunt this down for curiosities sake. I know shows like Dad's Army and Steptoe & Son were given audio/radio adaptations, but whether there were any new stories I couldn't say, as I haven't listened to them.
Hey Tengy... listening to your interview on the "goodiespodcast" at the mo'. You should of made mention of this, or perhaps you did. Either way, to other subscribers, if you're into The Goodies or Tengy, go and have a listen.😃

Hi Tengy, just to really cap off your Goodies reviews, please have a look at Spiderbait's cover of "Run", one of the much-used backing tracks from the early Goodies episodes. I love their video for this. How many episode references can you get? Link: ua-cam.com/video/H7ociMW-_hs/v-deo.html
Hi! I remember being thrilled to hear Spiderbait's cover of "Run" at the time and the clip is a lot of fun. I will give some thought to doing a review of it. Thanks for the fun suggestion :)
Glad we got one last episode from The Goodies. RIP Timbo Taylor
Such a shame they couldn't do more of these, but yes, wonderful to have even this one audio adventure. :)

Here in the US we only got about Three of the GOODIES series from the middle of the BBC run.

Thanks Tengy! Never realised this existed. Cheers from a fellow 1980s ABC 6pm viewer 😊
I hope more people get to hear this audio adventure! It's wonderful. Let me know how you enjoy it :)
This sent me down a rabbit hole of comedians from my youth - Willie Rushton, Barry Took...
The Goodies were one of the best parts of my youth.
Wow, many many thanks! I haven't even heard of this one, I will check it out as soon as possible!

Hiya Tengy, love ya review. Oh yeah, by the way, great to see the chimp back . 🙊🙊
Monkey was such a part of my previous Goodies reviews, I couldn't leave her out of this one :)
Well, I must say, it's great to see her again. That brown cutie 🙉
