From illusionist on stage to illusionist with film into advertising - what a surprise. Hopefully his advertising work was as whimsical as this film. I love that when the fire spreads he tends to the fire rather than getting the baby out of the incubator. Another fun film - Thanks!!
Another fun one. And I always enjoy re-watching these shorts and focusing on things in the background. They really packed a lot of stuff into these films.
If this film is any indication of Booth's wacky works then sign me up for more! You know things can't go well with a name like 'Bakem'. (bake him) And that sure is exactly what happened. They over-baked a child that he aged so quickly into a grown man (and a small person at that). I liked the poster in the background that shows the before and after when the procedure is done. I even got the vibes of "Dog Factory" (1904), the review you did 3 months ago. You know, you put something in and get a different result afterward. The mother definitely got a different result of her child after this procedure. 😆😆 Great review Tengy. I look forward to more wackiness and wonders of awe. 📽❤️ P.S. - I hope you're planning on doing classic spooky movie reviews for the month of October. I'd like to toss a couple of titles into the mix. 👻👾👿
Yes Dog Factory is a good comparison. I suppose this was the era when electricity and electrical contraptions of all types where still comparatively novel. Thanks for reminding me about October - I'll have to get my thinking cap on there... :) If you know any good public domain horror titles I could react to, let me know.
What I find interesting about the early days of cinema is filmmakers figuring out on how to tell a story in a brand medium. We get to see the progression from short skits to what we recognized as a movie today in just a couple of decades. UA-cam is kinda like that. From crude short clips to the sleek well produced videos we have today.
I like the fact that we can watch this evolution happening in films like these. This time of exploration and play and discovery in early films is quite fascinating. :)
Hey Tengy. When he started the fire I thought the film should be called over cooked baby.🤣. Very vaudevillian. If it gets all over UA-cam that you're doing weird shorts, people might think you're into bad fashion. Till next time, have a wonderful day.
I think that was the machine that was used to create the Munchkins. A very handy device, without which there would never have been a WIZARD OF OZ movie! Thanks! ;-)
I noticed in one of the other comments, you were looking for some public domain "gems" to possibly review for the Halloween season. I had a quick look around and found a few possible candidates? Monstrosity (1963) The Eye Creatures (1967) Curse Of The Swamp Creature (1966) Night of the Blood Beast (1958) Beast From Haunted Cave (1959)
@@TengyTalksTVMovies Pretty sure there are trailers for most, if not all, of the films on Y.T. I'm pretty sure I haven't explored any of these celluloid catastrophe's myself, except possibly "Beast...".
I'm shook. Thanks again, Tengy!
Glad you enjoyed it - it's a funny one, alright. :)

Yeah I'd love to see some of the ads he did! And no-one seems much bothered about the fire, do they? :) Gad you enjoyed this.

Yeah, I can't work out exactly what the assistant is doing, when he sets it all on fire. I guess it doesn't really matter. :)

You know I was thinking something similar - they could easily have done this on the stage as a comedic illusion. :)

What the...? Now we know where the idea for the micro-wave oven came from! 🥵
lol! It's a crazy idea, isn't it?
@@TengyTalksTVMovies It does make you wonder where the idea/inspiration came from for some of these old films.
I gotta say, when that hairy leprechaun thing came out of there, I about died laughing. XD
can you believe they are remaking the 1989 scifi classic quantum leap 😭
Was the world clamoring for a remake? How you gonna replace the chemistry Dean Stockwell and Scott Bakula had? Lol
It's a shame how so much gets remade, when the original was perfectly good.
