I understand people not liking it, but do you really want literal crashing cars and flashing lights in the video because those are the lyrics? You wouldn't want that, exactly. The refrain is "I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling" But what does that actually mean? I don't see how you could necessarily incorporate it. "Heart and Soul: one will burn" also will mean different things to different people. The "Love Will Tear Us Apart" video is perfect, but it's mostly just the band with some simple video effects. I found this one interesting, the way it somehow misses the mark, although it obviously includes some of the usual post-industrial tropes. I guess the woman could represent "feeling" here. Am I the only one that likes these videos? I have the give them credit, I mean sure it could be seen as bad but it's pretty unique in its own way, it's artistic
It's weird how many likes this has but so many negative comments. I actually didn't dislike it and I sometimes don't get why people hate it. Their reasons are sometimes a bit in contradiction to or not exactly what I seem to like about a music video, for example "It doesn't show the lyrics in any way", as if a music video's purpose is to visualize the lyrics. I would say I like Radiohead's video for "No Surprises". But I'm not too sure about what I like about it or videos in general. This music video fits pretty well to me. There's not a lot happening, I think using the album's artwork on the girl was a nice idea and it has some kind of theme to it. The only thing I don't like is that it looks so polished in contrast to this old raw song
I always imagined the video to this song to be a midnight drive, late night with the radio crackling slightly and light rain, not some preying mantis having an aneurysm coursing through her arms in an ikea parking lot. Ian didn’t die for this, I’ll tell you that for free

What means to you, what means to me, and we will meet again, I'm watching you, I'm watching her, I'll take no pity from you friends, Who is right, who can tell, and who gives a damn right now, Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know, Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know, Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know, I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling, I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING.

Obviously Ian isn't around to see these, but I'm sure he would even have the same respect for them...And if it's not what yall like then make your own music video on how you see it, but I guarantee it won't be what alot of others see when they hear his words.. Featuring a bevy of bodacious babes spraying each other down with orange Sunkist soda (they are a generous sponsor), their studly bronze boyfriends whistle along with the tune while tearing up the surf on their jet skis. I'm sure you and all your friends are going to love it very much. Please keep an eye out for the new line of tie-dyed "Closer" t-shirts and bikini thongs that will be front and center in every Hot Topic and Walmart soon!
Oh god just stop.
Please don't do this to Closer
Se fizerem com o Closer eu vo chorar 😭😭😭😭😭😭

BEYOND ANY SONG ELSE DISORDER,,,,IS THE BEST ROCK SONG OF ALL TIME JOY DIVISION FOREVER !
They're really puting effort into dissapointing us, each video is significantly worse than the previous one.
PERHAPS THE GREATEST AUTHENTIC ROCK AND ROLL SONG OF ALL TIME...
Terrible as expected. This song deserves so much better
This song deserves no video.
U watched it tho
It's sad when all I can really say about this video is the girl was hot.
drownsoda I like it
@@jboyle453519 imagine if the people who made it were actually creative. They could gave gotten true artists to make these, If anything. What's good about is , is the basicness to it. The use the some and the art work, WHICH are great! There part was to add some random model to dance to it??? At least a true artist, making the same video would have had a passionate, hot, but TRUE JD fan dancing to it, not some random gap model ?
Mark Fisher about Joy Division: "They had so thoroughly stripped out Rock’s libidinal motor - ‘Sex has disappeared from these unknown pleasures; (...) it would be better to say that they were, libidinally as well as sonically, anti-Rock." And thats a reason why is this video bad.
When I listen to disorder, a naked girl moving around with dance moves that don't even match the song is definitely not what comes to mind. Hate to say it but I could of made a better video with my samsung phone just making some cheap edits of live shows.
Hi
I love making music. I am currently working on this channel to create Joy Division instrumental. in the future, I will deal with other performers, but in the event that it will be interesting to you. please rate my content.
thanks :)
Yeah? Go on and do it then Boomer.
My favorite song with not doubt, missing you Ian.
Am I the only one that likes these videos? I have the give them credit, I mean sure it could be seen as bad but it's pretty unique in its own way, it's artistic
Not Disorder pls
Someone posted this song few days ago on Twitter and I got hooked instantly. Like... the bassline is fucking enchanting!
Eu Amoooo de coração essa música! Obrigado Curtis, Sumner, Hook e Morris ❤️
I always imagined the video to this song to be a midnight drive, late night with the radio crackling slightly and light rain, not some preying mantis having an aneurysm coursing through her arms in an ikea parking lot. Ian didn’t die for this, I’ll tell you that for free
I was wandering, there is a lot of people with a big soul just like Ian, may god bless them.
Timeless perfection belittled by juvenile egocentricism.
No matter how many times i hear this sing it still hits the same as the first time i ever heard it.
I love joy division forever 🖤
The sound that marked those years...
Yo esperaba ver autos chocando
estaba mejor el negrito que cantaba desafinado
Yeah, this is exactly the kind of vid that Curtis would have approved of.
This video is a betrayal of what this band represents.
True, ..... on purpose ? The roots of Warsaw/JD go against todays politicaly correct narrative.
Another beautiful fairy, beautiful mermaid.
Beautiful coat of arms.
Elégants gestes des mains-Feeling.
“Par des efforts vers les hauteurs”
Beaucoup de pudeur.

Fine art.Still. ღ
Guys...
I don’t wanna see my favourite song ruined
Edit: Fine... it sucks
I have bad news
The song's not ruined, it's just a bad video

keep me out Great work dude, keep it on 👍
When I heard this sound, I only could imagine a person walking alone in the street of a disturbed city.
I've been waiting for a guide to come and take me by the hand,
Could these sensations make me feel the pleasures of a normal man?
These sensations barely interest me for another day,
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, take the shock away
It's getting faster, moving faster now, it's getting out of hand,
On the tenth floor, down the back stairs, it's a no man's land,
Lights are flashing, cars are crashing, getting frequent now,
I've got the spirit, lose the feeling, let it out somehow.
What means to you, what means to me, and we will meet again,
I'm watching you, I'm watching her, I'll take no pity from you friends,
Who is right, who can tell, and who gives a damn right now,
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,
Until the spirit new sensation takes hold, then you know,
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling,
I've got the spirit, but lose the feeling
FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING, FEELING.
I love this tune so much an that girl dancing is wow blows me away
No, god no, disorder is my favorite song
Yeah. This actually better be good
@@DonnyBomb well...it really isn't lol!
@@IncredulousMisanthrope unfortunately
Music was at it's highest point 79-80... Thank you Ian
it's funny because they still haven't realized that all these music videos look like shit and it has nothing to do with the true essence of joy division
Im 51. Went into an ice cream shop in a small tourist beach town in Ontario this summer - 15 year old budding goth behind the counter with a JD UP shirt on. "Nice shirt!" -- ruined his week with just 2 words.
This better be good. They can't screw this one up or she's lost control. Shadowplay was probably the "best" one so far but again they better not screw this one up
After watching the video, like most, I am disappointed. This video had a lot of potential but instead it's just a girl dancing. Lame
Nakey and hot girl- unlike Ian who danced in a purely emotive way.
These videos deserve the same kind of reviews the CATS movie received.
I’ve been waiting for this one to come out and I’m scared 😬
Are you disappointed? I am. :(
MIKERUPTION very. But I expected to be disappointed :/
@@brawnylilyspark Unfortunately, these reimagined videos have been so terrible. It blows my mind how out of touch with Joy Division's essence these videos have been. It's almost like the videomaker had a preconceived idea for a short film, and in order to make it, they forced it upon a Joy Division song, whether it was appropriate or not.
I've been listening to Joy Division and loving their work for over 30 years. I love this because its an angle of JD I haven't seen 1,000 times. Thank you!
You could of literally just showed someone driving down a street at night
Instead you choose this
Edit: instead you choose TITS :-(
Someone once did a video to "Ceremony" driving through an industrial part of town and it was great.
This pseudo-modern commercialclip transports the Manchester '79 mood not for any single second.
Se pasan de pirinola con los vídeos de mi joy division..😢
Si también me decepcionó
Keep the feeling. I’ve danced to JD live and in the kitchen and always in my heart.
I think the people behind the video were like "alright let's just make the chick dance like the lines"
In my opinion, this song is so beautiful if the video is on the cult cinema's cinematography set up, showing a girl who sits on a "ayunan", holding a tambourine in her left hand, and her right hand is hitting her left knee with a rainbow rose. And one more, the whole video is "black and white".
This is an insult to Ian Curtis and the rest of the band
chess jeez it’s just a video lol chill
He committed suicide he does not give a shit or know. LOL
@@CelestialWoodway I know, right? These comments are so fucking edgy. Oh wait... A subculture was birthed from this; I get it now
Its official.
Did stephen/hooky/barney sign off on this? This is the best they could come up with? For shame...
I really dont get why these reimagined videos get so much hate, Why does everybody hate them? Cause it's not what Ian or the rest of Joy Division would've approved, BULLSHIT, I'm sure true Joy Division/Ian Curtis fans know that it was Ian himself who said, "My words are up to the interpretation of the individual and imply many different meanings" If this is what people visualize when they here his words so be it, Appreciate it for what it is... Obviously Ian isn't around to see these, but I'm sure he would even have the same respect for them...And if it's not what yall like then make your own music video on how you see it, but I guarantee it won't be what alot of others see when they hear his words.. Respect to the people have different interpretations of these songs, love it keep at it
Well, they did it.
They couldn't even make something half decent for my favorite Joy Division song.
I'm still waiting for that guide to come and take ME by the hand...
I love watching the live chat freaking out like “omg a video” in the beginning, and then a minute in having their dreams shattered. Just the reactions are perfect lmao 👌😂 Also this is by far the WORST reimagined video
I dunno. I can do w/o the video. The music speaks for itself.
I have only one question. Why?
something tears my soul from the inside when I listen to this song
She can take some dance lessons from Ian.
Love that us Joy Division fans hate this video so much. Music taste and understanding translating to visual preferences.
Песня легендарная (как жаль что Joy Division уже нет(((
Joy Division lives forever... Ian never dies
I forgot how bad these "Reimagined" videos were. Now I remember.
What are they doing to you, my dear Curtis? Sleep well, forget about us.
Pre-Raphaelite waif in brutalist landscape. Excellent!
