Hi Vince from Laneway Music. We are trying to contact Geoff to see if he is interested in talking to us about re releasing all the cybotron material through Laneway Music. Regards
Glad you like it. Both Steve and my dad now have new music out on Spotify as per the updated sub-titles. And, more recently, my father and I released a joint album - both our sophomore albums in terms of solo artists: Album 2. 22 Sides Of The Same Coin (Green/Green)
Hi all. I've added some captions to the Cybotron videos to ensure everyone is aware of the latest works of co-founders Steve Maxwell Von Braund and Geoff Green. I'll be keeping them there for the rest of 2023 as I think it provides a historical undertone, but happy to hear suggestions for a better way if too many people find the captions annoying. Also in the description, here are the links for both Braund and Green's latest works: Steve Maxwell Von Braund - Return To Monster Planet (2020) artist.sptfy.com/SteveMaxwell... Geoff Green - Exodus to Genesis (2022) artist.sptfy.com/GeoffGreen
Like it and leave a comment. That's about all we can directly do. Drums did not sit well with early Kraftwerk but here it does. Krautrock/Prog/Early electronica drums are the best!
It's very much of it's time. Don't forget Larks Tongues in Aspic by King Crimson came out in 73, Brain Salad Surgery by ELO same year. Fragile and Closer To The Edge 71 and 72 by Yes... Need I go on?

Keyboard player here, these guys were a local band when i was growing up. Saw them at a couple of gigs, festivals, then in the early 80's they played a few gigs at the local hotel near my college. Loved them! And of course, bought Colossus. ....now i can't stop buying synthesizers. Thanks for the memories and inspiration! ...and thanx for posting this!
The other "Cybotron" was formed in 1981 that was Juan Atkins and fellow Washtenaw Community College student, Vietnam veteran Richard Davies. This Cybotron is a sequel to the cult 1975 Australian Space Rock album 'Monster Planet' by Steve Maxwell Von Braund. On the cusp of the 45th anniversary of the original release of Monster Planet, The Roundtable has again been granted privileged access to the Cybotron archives. To celebrate Record Store Day 2020 they compiled a compendium of "lost" tracks collected from 1974 to 1981, ranging from ARP synthesiser experiments to heady space rock to sophisticated electro-sounds of classic Cybotron. Return To Monster Planet offers a glimpse into the fascinating musical world of Steve Braund, one of the most marginalised yet singular artists to emerge from the golden (space) age of Australian music.
This is crazy, I am in a band called one eyed god we formed in October 2011, our music would be described as instrumental space music, consist of drums bass guitar synths and saxophone, if these where more successful anyone would think we'd ripped them off! Even the flashing eye behind the band! Can't believe it
killer. i first got into cybotron about 7 years ago, after trying very hard to find the vinyl, i found mp3s of the first two albums. that music changed my life as a musician. to finally see live footage is really incredible and im very grateful to be able to see this footage, thanks so much for sharing this, and tell your uncle that he's a huge influence on me.
It is a crime how marginalized this band and effort was and still is... PLEASE put these guys down in history, re-release all their albums and name check them amoungst the early electronic progressive greats.
Stumbled upon a compilation album(cd) yesterday.. THE WIZARDS OF OZ(a monstrous psychedelic bubble exploding in your mind) . Some real gems on there!! This track is one of them!!
I see it's on Rocturnal...which rage Retro have started showing in January...my wish is that they can scrub this clip up and introduce this to a new generation

Hey everyone! I noticed yesterday that Australia's youth, alternate station, Triple J, has listed Cybotron's most popular album, Colossus, on the shortlist of Australia's Top 100 albums. If you guys could take a little time and head to abc.net.au/triplej/hottest100/alltime/11/ and click C and vote 'Cybotron -Colossus', it would mean the world to me and my dad, Geoff Green. Cheers guys. Peace. x

Praise the elders of the Internet to propose me this jewel in my electronic-progressive genre perferences.
Love discovering old, but new to me prog bands. Reminds me of a cross between ELP and Van see Graff Generator.
