Exactly. It's like I'm dying to know what it is. I admit that I did enjoy seeing the before and after in the thumbnail because it's almost like "how the hell did she do that... what steps did she take to get those results???" But I much prefer it being a secret until the end of the vid.

The original Lily Munster wig used in the show is a very long lace-fronted wig probably from studio stock with the white sections added. It had added to it a ladder-fall (seldom seen now except in theatre tbh) - a pair of ribbons with welf tracks sewn between them, much like the back of a welfed wig, several feet long and looking like a ladder from the underside, hence the name. It was attached to the back of the wig to add the great knee-length look (it was about a foot of ribbon before the first track started so that it hung very low) and could be detached for washing and styling. You can see it in many scenes as Lily’s hair is clearly in two layers. Same method is used for knee length hair in theatre as human hair that long is impossible to get hold of so the base of the wig is extended at the back by several feet of wig-lace to which wefts of human hair are sewn, giving the same effect but a highly realistic look.

Jaymes, have you ever thought of styling one of those massive gothic lolita twintail wigs? The ones that are like a long curly base wig and two big ponytail clips? They're super heavy and have so much hair in them, and they're EVERYWHERE in the lolita fashion community but we lolitas usually only cut the bangs and don't really style them. I'd be interested to see what someone with your talent would do with one! I've teased one out myself and the result was hair 1+1/2 the width of my (decently broad!) shoulders O_O
(btw, if you do mention lolita fashion, please make sure to note that while it shares a name with it, it has literally nothing to do with the pedo book and was originally an offshoot of 80s punk with its message of active rejection of the sexualisation of little girls (hence the frumpiness of the clothing... anything above the knee or showing cleavage and it's no longer lolita!) and Japanese ideals of neatness and simplicity, and gothic fashion for the obvious gothic and victorian influences.)
I love Lolita the book, but I appreciate hearing how the fashion style got that name and what it actually means. Like the novel is a classic for a reason but it's also definitely taboo and not something you'd want to mistakenly be associated with.
