I just love when you teach the children about Legends like Marilyn. It's shocking to think that there's people that didn't even know who she was and even worse that believed she was who she was portrayed to be. I'm glad to see someone else has the same feelings about Marilyn. Her story is super depressing; I stopped idolizing her for her "bombshell beauty" once I saw everything she endured for it. Really entertaining video, though! Wig looks great!

It touches my heart that Jaymes draws attention to iconic Hollywood women who weren’t fully appreciated in their time (and sadly perhaps still isn’t) and talks about them with such fondness and respect. I love Jaymes so so much.
You’re quickly becoming one of my favourite youtubers, your videos are so relaxing and easy to watch. They feel like you’re just chatting to a friend, but a friend who’s really knowledgeable and always teaches you something new.
Oh god I remember that wig!! In the early 2010s I had almost no money for drag so I relied on Party City wigs and this was one of their (this is laughable) premium Marilyn wigs 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Marilyn is one of Madonna's idols. She definitely went through a phase of closely imitating her style during that era.
A funny factoid I noticed, there are lighting fixtures from an episode of The Next Generation (Star Trek) that were used in a Friends episode (the one where Joey buys all the super expensive furniture). I love noticing things like that, like reuse of sets and props in creative ways, I absolutely love props and set design in movies and tv shows.

Your knowledge of Hollywood starlets is for our history lessons while you do hair! I love Marilyn. She's my favorite old Hollywood starlet because I can relate to her so much. The wanting to be taken seriously, not wanting to just be seen as people have perceived you on the outside, and the serious mental health struggle- I just feel a kinship with this woman.

They actually have some of the ruby slippers at the Museum of American History in Washington DC!!!
A lot of pairs were made for the film the exact number is unknown but 5 pairs still exist and the real ones are in the Smithsonian. I watched a documentary about a pair that were stolen from the Judy Garland museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. And the host is given the privilege to examine the ones in the Smithsonian and inside one of the slippers you can see Judy's signature. The ones owned by Debbie were the curl toed arabian version.
