    I suspected gluten was a culprit in my plethora of health issues including hair, skin and nails for years but always thought fighting candida is what I should be doing. After removing gluten,grains and corn completely as well as dairy and eggs, my immune system is going from strength to strength. Definitely take this advice on board. I wish I came across it sooner!

      @@mfiore603 I would advise cutting out eggs for 3 months and seeing how you feel. You could get protein from meats instead (I do realise this is more expensive tho) - the body will typically always have a negative reaction as we cut out a food even if it is bad for us. This is because the bacteria that were once thriving off that food are now dying and releasing their waste product into our system - also because our body gets used to certain fuel. You could take a food allergy test also.

    I’m a diagnosed Celiac and was eating “Supposed “ GF foods but was still getting sick. I started doing the Carnivore diet 4 months ago and it has helped tremendously except two days ago I had a problem with some tasty cheese, so into the bin. I’m so fed up!!!
    Although one favour Celiac disease did for me was to stop me eating refined Carb’s, breads, biscuits etc.
    I hope to improve more as I get into this way of eating, so far so good. Happy New Year Dr, 🎉 thanks for your helpful information 😘

    I became sick out of nowhere with extreme dyspnea, I thought as I already had asthma it has to do with smoking previously… but then I started reacting to all sorts of foods ie gluten alcohol soy msg chocolate caffeine so with my regular dr having no clue I did so much research n listened to so many podcasts from functional drs. I essentially diagnosed myself with histamine intolerance! Put myself on a low/no histamine diet n boom my symptoms have disappeared! Amazing. I’m now waiting on bloods n breath tests to come back to ascertain what gut issue I have that needs addressing. But after finding out how extremely bad gluten n dairy are I’m keen to abolish those from my diet!

    Dr O - you continue to be my mentor on everything Gluten! Thanks for inspiring me as a Holistic Nutritionist to teach and spread the word. I am currently teaching Gluten workshops, writing blog articles and coaching clients on your No Pain No Grain programme with huge results! Every Functional Medicine summit and webinar I can catch that you speak on and the extra few minutes you gave me on the phone after my own Gluten Sensitivity/Celiac Genetic testing results must have paid off! Question - what are your thoughts on using ghee as a casein-free fat for those with gluten sensitivity?

    • @laurakissmann3443
      @laurakissmann3443 7 років тому +1

      I just reread the portion on dairy in No Grain No Pain pg 174 and I suspect the answer is no due to the fact that the fat is derived from grain that the animal ate and is inflammatory. Just wondering about grass-fed ghee that would contain no casein or is that butter you use still processed with the enzyme microbial transglutaminase and it would still look like gluten to the body. Please, your thoughts Dr Osborne as I am not sure how to advise clients?

    brain fog migrains canker sores painful knees hemmerhoids high bp were daily issues for me at only 37! I ate gluten like it was going out of style all my life and ive prolly had an issue all my life. Gluten has been gone since 39 now and im 41. i focus on plants nuts and seeds. no dairy or eggs. I feel like i eat too much fruit maybe but I look really good and more importantly i feel better. havent had a canker sore in a year i only get a headache if work really sucks and my joints feel good again. I had to have surgery for hemmeroids. that problem was too far gone. Im a cereal addict. id have like 6 bowls a day of highly gluten cereal in milk of coarse. Now ill do a grain free nut cereal with chopped bananas in flax milk when i cant fight the craving.

      rmg -definately! My cat was hyperactive and was having seizure type episodes in his sleep,its tough,your cat will pester initially,mine seemed to get the same sort of withdrawals as we would,mass produced treats have been replaced with fusses and cuddles and home grown catnip,I found sourcing organic,grain free,gmo free,high protein ratio complete cat food quite easy to source.All the heavily promoted brands and the treats contain wheat,ash and junk with very low protein content thats not species appropriate.Its the best move I made and I may have helped prevent diabetes and kidney issues for when hes older-just go for it,my cat is far calmer and more settled and his pee and poop smells healthier( if that makes sense?).

      I don't know if animals have problems with gluten specifically but they can have problems from different food sources just like anything else. I have one cat who is allergic to chicken. She also has inflammatory bowel disease and does not have solid poop without bulky grains in her food. My other cat gets rodent sores all over her mouth if she eats grains. So she gets a grain - free food with nearly zero carbs in it.
      And while cats are obligate carnivores they can handle a small amount of grains and fruits and vegetables. All of the little critters that they would eat in the wild like birds and mice and squirrels all eat grains and vegetation, so when the cat eats them the cat also eats the little bit of grain or vegetation in the rodents gut.

    Low stomach acid reflux is caused by the food not being digested properly so it sits in the stomach & ferments & creates acidic gases that need to escape,which in turn the gases rise up & open the valve at the top of the oesophagus & then burn the lining of the stomach & oesophagus.bitter herbs can help with this problem.
