I went to a taping 25 years ago maybe. I laughed at the start didn't stop till the taping was done. Thank you red green
When I was a little girl I was home sick a lot suffering from chronic illness, we only had three channels and the Red Green Show was what was on during school hours and I loved it. I cant tell you why this particular show brought me comfort, but it did and I'm so thankful for that.
it really was a special and comforting show in stark contract to all the other commercially driven content on the airwaves. it really was a special show and there will never be anything like it on the air again.
@Right-Wing Atheist canada had a bit of a boom in the 90s making wholesome content and cartoons, many of which people dont even know were Canadian made.
I miss this days
Yeah I watched the show when I was a kid too
Because The Red Green Show was further above the treeline than Beachcombers.
Many years later, and we're still all in this together.
Time well spent. Now we have AvE too. Canuckians all !
people today dont seem to be simply amused like i was back in the day . i was and am still entertained just watching nature , being outside etc etc etc . :))

"If the women don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy."
Still one of the best pieces of advice for men of all ages.
I still say it about once a month.
Its advice to live by, if you live by your word you shouldn't worry about being "handsome"
Women too! I've been using this mantra since I was in high school lol
Best advice ever given lmao.
@TurboCMinusMinus I wish MGTOWs would go the way of the dodo. No one likes you, not even other MGTOWs
Never thought I'd look to Red Green as a voice of reason. But here we are.
EVERYTHING Red Green says is reasonable....Man, listen with your heart and you'll hear the truth.
@@ahobbit225 Did you miss the episode where he tapes two car halves together?

It was a little startling.
Definitely could have chosen a better thumbnail for that title, haha
Aye. I did
I hadn't seen Red Green in such a long time. Brought back a wave of nostalgia, memories and a feeling of getting old.
yes
One of the greatest shows in TV history. Simple show and never had to be profane in an attempt to get a laugh, and just brought good old down-home humor week after week. Well done to Red & crew...
Yes I'm bragging but, I am an official member of the "International Possum Brotherhood" member #5083 Chapter 11. Back in the early days of the show Red would tell you to send in a post card and he would send you an official Possum lodge membership card and a monthly news letter. I did. I loved those. The back of the card says, The person on the other side of this card is an Official Member of The red Green Fan Club and is entitled to all privileges and/or ridicule that International Possum Brothers enjoy/tolerate. "QUANDO OMNI FLUNKUS MORITATI"
That is really cool. I would have that framed so it never gets wrecked maybe hang it in the mancave.
You’ve got me beat: my member # is 48553
I wish I had gotten one of those. I still have my "Blame Me For Red Green" button that I got from donating my $5 allowance to our local PBS station in 1997, when I was 12 years old. Used to stay up to watch the show, every Saturday night.
When all else fails, play dead.
I think you ARE bragging...as you should!
It's been a fantastic ride! Thanks to all the cast and crew for the laughs and great memories. Love you all!
Nothing but fond memories. Bless all those in the creation of RED GREEN shows.
Met the man one time at a car show sat in my car and shared a Oder of French fry’s with him I will never forget that moment in time it was priceless he is one great man

Ah, Red Green. At first, just a what the hell is this in the TV Guide. Then we got to watching it, drinking beers, of course. Then comes the baby and by 5 yrs old the kid is hooked, too. It is hard to believe that so many years have gone by since I started watching. The kid is 24 now and I'm divorced but thank goodness for UA-cam. I can still sit down with a beer or three and relive some happy times. Thank you, Steve Smith for keeping Red Green alive and well!
We had our local PBS station supplying is with episodes.
Aliza Crimson and it’s a shame PBS has stopped airing the show.
I’d hate to think it’s that way because the powers that be running PBS stations think the show is too lowbrow for their snooty standards, but I don’t see any other reason.
I used to love it as a kid as well. Now im 30. Time makes fools of us all.

I grew up in Northern Saskatchewan and believe it or not most of the "skits" were normal life for us and I thought duct tape was a gift from the gods given to us so that we could fix most anything.
Thanks for the many years of laughs.

I'm sure that little did Steve Smith imagine while filming the final episode of the show that Red would still be going strong 15 years later. Steve will be 75 this year and he shows little signs of stopping.
He wrote on his website circa 2010 that retirement was boring & he wished he was still doing the show. So he decided to do Red Green tours (standup comedy).

When I watched this the original time, I have to say it got me a bit misty when Red pulls the fly off the stand. That was a pretty heavy moment done simply and well.
Agreed! It was such a nice touch that still sticks with me. I remember skipping my scout meeting that day to watch the finale with my grandfather. Wouldn't trade that memory for the world.
It gets me misty now...lol. What a nice ending.
Red Green always has a way of explaining things that was about as good as it gets, all whilst making you chuckle.
If only US politicians were this intelligent and coherent....
I'd like the Canadian ones to be honestly.
@LAST CALL Most likely He Brainwashed the Stupid.
@Mike North 2nd amendment isn't gonna do anything for us if the gun owners are the ones driving the tyranny. Germany had private gun ownership too before Hitler. Look how well that turned out. Don't get me wrong, I support private gun ownership but not for political reasons - just because it's the right thing to do in a good and healthy free society. Unfortunately it gets ugly when the society is no longer good, healthy, or free and that's where we're driving right now. I hope smarter, wiser, cooler heads prevail.
@LAST CALL And you are going to service that huge debt, how? Or are you planning to declare bankruptcy like all of trumps business failures?

The Man's Prayer is one of the great truisms of human history...and after all these years still makes me laugh.

Just hearing your voice puts a smile filled with nostalgia on my face. Thanks for all the great memories, Steve.
Everytime I use duct tape for things that it was never intended to be used for I think this is how RED Green would have done it!
“Any tool can be the right tool” -Red Green
Chilly Willy Yes, I have multiple kinds of duct tape on hand for different uses. I even hide the good stuff from the husband or it won’t get returned.
anytime something comes apart my husband or I will say it needs duct tape because of Red Green.
The only limit to duct tape usage is a lack of imagination.
My motto is if you can't fix it with duct tape or a zip tie (in extreme cases, both) it's beyond repair.

Very profound, deep advice given with a healthy dose of humor to ease the pain. The most memorable, best times in life are often bittersweet, making you happy and sad at the same time: moving on to a new job with higher pay and advancement, but leaving people you've worked with for years, who are practically family to you, for example.

Actually that was used for a couple seasons towards the end. I watched Red Green for years. Can't remember an episode i didn't like.
i'm a male and i'll never change :))
daniel stewart the original man’s prayer was “I’m a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess”.
Like I said, the final episode, which this “Saying Goodbye” clip came from, they modified the man’s prayer.
An interesting bit of trivia is the “oh well” was added to the end because that’s what Steve’s wife Morag said when the show first aired in ‘91, and they thought it was a flop.

The handyman’s secret weapon: Duct tape. Red Green rules!
18 years ago, my oldest grandchild was born, a beautiful baby girl. When we put her crib together my 2 sons and I found out the piece that holds the side up was missing from the box. So we "Red Greened" the side with duct tape as a stop-gap until we could take it back and exchange it. To test it out, all 3 of us leaned over the side and balanced on our belly's. It didn't even creak. My wife and daughter looked at it and made us pack it up and return it to the Wal-Mart at 9:45 pm...lesson to be had, wives and mothers do NOT love duct tape...Heck, we were trying to be handy...
