I grew up watching the Red and Green Show. Learned a lot in this interview. I have always liked him and love him even more. Great comedian, great person. Your awesome Steve Smith!
Steve was looking so well in this interview and so full of life. I remember my father introducing me to the RedGreen show when I was a child and I gew up with Red & Harold and the gang making me laugh. This fills me with so much joy.
as others stated i recently came across Red and totally love his show. I have become addicted and can not wait to get home and watch shows until i fall asleep, wake up to red green shows and enjoy every episode, Long live Red Green.
A friend and I would get stoned and watch Red Green every Saturday night on PBS here in the states back in the nineties. Then, for a short time, I lived in British Columbia and hit the jackpot. Reruns! I would watch Red every day. I'm only sorry that I never got to see his live show. Thanks Red/Steve. Keep your stick on the ice.
Both Steve Smith and Patrick McKenna were my childhood! I used to LOVE watching the Red Green show on PBS/TPT when I was little back in the 90's and 2k's. Especially the Handyman Corner and Midlife segments. Oh yes.. who can forget the Possum Lodge oath, and the Man's prayer. This show back then was legendary status, and same for Steve as a whole. Steve must be protected and kept alive at all costs!
Wish Red Green show would have come to Red Oak Oklahoma and do another 25 years of shows here , thank you and all on the show most real life we have ever seen
OMG I love red green, been a fan for years. I have to say what I love most about this, was the bit about his father. I can sooo relate to this, and I am in the same situation, so it was nice to see a guy, who while had a rough upbringing, always did the right thing.
I didn't come across Red Green until 2005 growing up in Boston Massachusetts But I must say he makes me feel like I've known him in my early years..He identifies with a lot of aspects in my life...I enjoy his reruns and podcasts..I'm looking forward to his movie since I missed his one man shows around North America..I wish I had a dad with his values and advice about the world..It's easy to understand why he holds the highest honors amongst his fellow Canadians...He is up there with Goldie Howe, Wayne Gretzky, Don "grapes"Cherry as the most loved of all time.. ...Love you Mr. Smith
my late great father and I loved to watch him on television as he performed his comedy great memories I have because of mister Steve Smith thank you sir :)
Really interesting to see the difference between Steve Smith the actor and Red Green. Red has a more confident walk, was more definite and secure. Steve was more tentative when walking in, talked a bit slower.
I watched it on PBS here only a cpl years after episodes aired in Canada. I remember when a U.S. network was going to give them a contract but wanted an update. So The New Red Green Show was born. CANNOT find any episodes of that now. Network never did give him a contract. They should have.
11:48 this is why i have always wanted to see red green and gallagher on a set or on a stage they are both old crazy but always on the go to make ppl laugh
I love Steve Smith but I must say he felt a bit annoyed having to speak about his father... it feels that George was trying to pull a tear jerker when it wasn't necessary.. there is so much that could of been asked about him then about his father....
Jesus, is Stormby the male Ellen or Oprah? Let's talk about the most personal and uncomfortable subject possible and then not let it go, while leaning in awkwardly close to the guest. I thought he was going to take his hand and just hold it. Painful.
Jake Thompson 67 back then now I believe 71, going on 72 and I doubt makeup, he's like me he doesn't follow trends, sure he might use a little makeup but he's been in family living rooms for a lot of years and Steve Smith/Red Green has been married for almost 50 years, he doesn't need makeup on to impress anyone
We all have men or women like this in our families and imagine if this person had political views opposite of yours, would you still respect and listen to his advise? Kids today are bombarded with political crap and anything that embraces family, traditional values, patriotism, individual responsibility is considered their enemy. We have 2nd graders being taught to embrace alternative lifestyles and stop racism, at what point does someone step in and tell these "educators" to knock it off or else! Some cities do and then the media stomps on them. We don't have a chance to avoid something very bad coming soon.
If you do what MGTOW says the world would start to die, you men are un-breeding yourselves out of existing . but sometimes I do agree with "survival of the fittest " This thought pattern always self destructs, and, you can't procreate w/o woman, you need to forgive your mothers/fathers for not teaching you to be a man, most of MGTOW are batá males, not alfa males , you think like your mothers, with emotions , men think with logic , if you forgive them you can turn back to your father and be a man. if not, than do like your club suggest and avoid being a man and running your household ,anyone can put self first, its the easiest path to distortion of reality there is. just saying..
He didn't drop the F-bomb, but he's famous for dropping the strange 'i hate men, they're stupid' bomb. It was a strange angle is his work that i never understood and generally contradicted the mentality and performances of the actors on the show.
Jesus, Strombo...can't you do an interview for the majority of Steve's audience to enjoy without trying desperately to shoe horn everyone else? You're pretty one-dimensionally focused, aren't you?
I grew up watching the Red and Green Show. Learned a lot in this interview. I have always liked him and love him even more. Great comedian, great person. Your awesome Steve Smith!
I met him in Vernon Hills, IL (north of Chicago) many years ago; loved his show and his approach in life. God bless him and the whole cast!
Steve was looking so well in this interview and so full of life.
I remember my father introducing me to the RedGreen show when I was a child and I gew up with Red & Harold and the gang making me laugh.
This fills me with so much joy.
Steve did great dealing with all those stupid questions.
as others stated i recently came across Red and totally love his show. I have become addicted and can not wait to get home and watch shows until i fall asleep, wake up to red green shows and enjoy every episode, Long live Red Green.
Same here
Such a great guy, loved the red green show back in the day. Happy to see that he is just as awesome in person as his character.

Always loved the Red Green show - so glad they are youtube!
Great Guy & Great show. The immortal Steve Smith👍🍀 I shall check out the book.
Wish Red Green show would have come to Red Oak Oklahoma and do another 25 years of shows here , thank you and all on the show most real life we have ever seen
He's going to go down in the small group of comedic genius writers/performers.
God bless this man. So much genius packed into one individual.
Love RED GREEN and Strombo is the best interviewer ever, he always gets the best out of his guests.
Steve is one of my biggest idols and one of the greatest comedians of all time!
OMG I love red green, been a fan for years. I have to say what I love most about this, was the bit about his father. I can sooo relate to this, and I am in the same situation, so it was nice to see a guy, who while had a rough upbringing, always did the right thing.
A great couple Steve and his wife!
Steve, love the man. Feel like I've been following him forever

Both Canadian icons. I miss both these shows.
Hardly recognise him withouth the raspy voice
Steve Smith's wife behind the scenes all along was helping him to write all of those sketches.
Beautiful interview.
my late great father and I loved to watch him on television as he performed his comedy great memories I have because of mister Steve Smith thank you sir :)
RED GREEN SHOW WAS AN IS THE BEST COMONDY THERE WAS ON TV !
wow, such a handsome man, wonderful human being, actor, and funny as always!! oxo Peace World.. :)
Really interesting to see the difference between Steve Smith the actor and Red Green. Red has a more confident walk, was more definite and secure. Steve was more tentative when walking in, talked a bit slower.
3:26 And that's what's missing. I feel we need some refreshment to balance out the anger and profanity.

Great interview despite the host.
Long live the Possum Lodge!!
Red Green was on PBS when I was growing up. Great times hanging with family watching the use of Duct tape.
11:19 "I have been in bed alone many times and nothing interesting has ever happened."
Yeah I remember smith and smith and red green
11:48 this is why i have always wanted to see red green and gallagher on a set or on a stage they are both old crazy but always on the go to make ppl laugh

Yeah what the hell was that about
It was getting too personal. This isn’t the right place for that type of interview. And Steve probably wasn’t prepared for that, either.
Who thought of the women's questions?. Just let Red go about his book. We would be rolling in the aisle. You just wasted Red Green, George.
7:17 Same here.
Does the book come with duct tape, or do we need to supply our own?
Red Green is Fred Rogers only just a bit of a wise ass.
One funny man !
Red Green forever!!
Interviewer is creepin me out! I couldn't finish.
Same
He's sitting on the edge of a very large seat, and leaning in WAY too close to his face.
Jesus, is Stormby the male Ellen or Oprah? Let's talk about the most personal and uncomfortable subject possible and then not let it go, while leaning in awkwardly close to the guest. I thought he was going to take his hand and just hold it. Painful.
forgive your father and mother for what you think they did to you and move on.
@@bassplayercliff1961 Are you going to make this comment in response to anyone who criticizes the interviewer?
HOLY SHIT, steve looks good for 68. I wonder if its just the make up.
AKdarkness48 67 at the time... Now 70
Tye Cranton Steve today would actually be 72.
JUST came upon this, but seriously whoever is interviewing him needs to get out of his face…..like seriously back off brother!
Have loved Red Green / Steve Smith for quite awhile. Got to attend the taping of one of his last shows! Great guy!
When it came to both his words and his body language, that interviewer needed to back off.
Nice to see Steve Smith. The interviewer is insufferable though.
red green rockin that jerry seinfeld gear
Help looks great
@6:58 life is unfixable things, that why TV is fantasy land.
Steve seems like a really nice guy. The interviewer is f'n cringe though
Steve give me a call sometime when your no to busy..
He sounds so young. Also this interviewer is so sketchy what is this
Wow really Canadian! 2022
Would you think it was happening now!
Red Green best ever! I have an uncle like you!
Ryan gossling looks a little like the young version of steve smith
I’m totally the kind of person who would read my own book and laugh. I’m my own biggest fan when it comes to my sense of humor. 😆

My wish: Red Green retires to Corner Gas and a TV spin-off show is born.
That would be an incredible show!
Baited questions much?
Steve handled them well.
@ 4:30 typical PC BS
A little to advanced for you to comprehend mate?
Hilarious!!
Longest running comedy?
Nope.
Last of The Summer Wine did 31 series.
Longest running SKETCH comedy.
Duhya SNL is still number one longest running sketch comedy. Red Green is number 2.
@@cpt.dr.hawkeye1740 in Canada
@@Duhyan Canada .
Well, SNL hasn't been funny for decades, Red Green was spot on every time. I'll take quality over quantity any day!
Steve/Red should study up on MGTOW(Men Going Their Own Way) and offer up his thoughts on the subject...
Fuckin love Red Green.
The interviewer is the worst.
Man Strombo's interviews are always amazing. It's no wonder that CNN approached him for a new show.
I think he's just a propaganda machine for liberal bullshit tbh
He didn't drop the F-bomb, but he's famous for dropping the strange 'i hate men, they're stupid' bomb. It was a strange angle is his work that i never understood and generally contradicted the mentality and performances of the actors on the show.
