I've seen this in multiple channels and how much people hate Filoni and I don't understand it. As much as there were issues in Mandalorian and Ahsoka he doesn't deserve hate. He had been in similar path in Clone Wars, he learned and did it better. And I'm going to be forever greateful to him for this. No matter what people say and god forbid them to compare him to JJ Abrams or Rian Johnson who didn't have even a bit of passion that Filoni has.
Let the man cook, jeeez.
Stop surrounding yourself with haters, man. These guys have built their channels on being haters. You don't want to be one of these people.
People forget that while Filoni directed most of the shows he is loved for. He did NOT write most.
Of 133 Clone Wars episodes he wrote for 4 episodes in Seasons 1-6, the era under Lucas, then 7 in Season 7.
He wrote additional dialogue for Season 1's episode 2, 3 and 4.
He was credited with writing Season 2's episode 22 Lethal Trackdown.
And he was credited with writing Season 7's episode 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
In Rebels he wrote 13 of 72 episodes. Some pretty good ones, but he wasn't the sole writer.
In Bad Batch he has only been credited with writing Season 1's episode 1. Pretty solid episode imo.
Ahsoka, imo his worse work, is credited as being written by him alone for all 8 episodes.
Filoni is a really good animation director and I think him or whoever works with a voice cast does well but he is not a writer. He has cool ideas that I think other people can flesh out with him well but he is not George Lucas.
It is a shame Faverau was pushed out, I know some people dislike Mando S 1 and 2 for cameos but imo with the era they are working in and the way the plot went it is naturally for some to appear. They wanted a show that has no connection to the films but the issue with that is you get Andor. Most people have no clue who the guy is and no one cared. People can argue about the plot and tone. Most fans I know liked the show but the problem is that I don't see producers green-lighting a show with nobodies with no hook to somebodies.
Even with it being a dumpster fire Ahsoka got higher viewership ratings than Andor because some people know who she is and there's lightsabers.
EDIT: Most of my favorite TCW episodes were actually written by Katie Lucas. She did a lot of the good Nightsister and Maul episodes.
Thrawn was a major let down. too many stupid mistakes

Dave filoni should go with her. Both terrible. Kathleen hires idiots like him and then he goes on to character assassinate Bobba fett.

I appreciate Dave’s work in the animated world, but he needs someone other than Kathleen over his shoulder. I’m willing to watch his Mando movie, but he doesn’t need Kathleen. Jon needs to be his partner.
I hate that everyone hates him for ruining the Clone Wars when he did everything George Lucas told him to do. When It was all Lucas who created the show...

@@lucaricci1987 it's because they are still crying that Lucas gave Anakin an apprentice and that he was knighted at the start of the clone war.
It's the same cycle we have seen just a different decade. Lucas was mauled for the prequels by the fandom. Filoni will get the same treatment by some. Nothing new here.

I agree. I’m not happy about the state of star wars either but these guys just straight up seem to hate star wars.
So tired of the Star Wars fans calling MauLer and Ryan haters. They’re only advocating for better storytelling, better Star Wars content, better entertainment overall. If we keep allowing this sub par quality entertainment be a part of our culture then pretty soon we all lose. I do think the word hate is thrown around too casually. Hate is a powerful word. I hate hitler. But I don’t hate Filoni. I do dislike his handling Star Wars

I personally think that Dave has his highs and lows..
the later seasons of the clone wars and some of rebels is some of the best stuff in star wars… but in the process of making those, he kinda just steps on the canon which ultimately has no consequences for him as what he comes out with will always be of higher priority than books and comics..
He also has an issue of not being able to let go of his original characters like ahsoka for example.. who imo has long outstayed her welcome and who’s reason to still be around isnt justified yet (i think she shouldve died in twilight of the apprentice but its just my 2 cents)
Essentially, i dont think hes bad at all, he just has some flaws as a storyteller.
But then again, this is just my opinion, so feel free to disagree!! :)
It’s mainly because he brought Ahsoka into the mix again after her obvious death in Rebels, and then Ezra saved her via WBW.
I was also hesitant about Dave, but then I saw the pictures of her wife, and then I realized that he holds a mix of modern trash ideas and good stuff.
He is definitely the best among them but his best work was with George.
Disney enables his bad tendencies, with the George they made cool mini movies every week, with disney he went back to avatar episodic filler.
I don't trust him to achieve excellent with disney but I know he at least cares about tradition but he needs help if they want most fans back.
He needs to take Kathleen Kennedys position tbh
But if he did that you might never see him make a project again, they need someone with experience being president of a company who doesn’t push their own ideas like Kathleen. Leave the creative decisions to the creatives
Yeah, no, I don't want him to get lost in beraucracy. He belongs to creative positions. Jon Favro, probably, could run Lucasfilm.
It’s so weird to say you hate a guy just for trying to create story’s he is passionate about and thinks people will enjoy, he hasn’t forced any agenda, he hasn’t done anything vile or wrong, something about hating and wanting to see someone’s career burn is just so weird to me… sorry for the rant.
It’s like that quote Green Goblin says to Spider-Man, “in spite of everything you’ve done for them eventually they will hate you” idk man, until Filoni really does something I think is very un-Star Wars like, I will admire his work. So far, his stories seem to fit Star Wars imo.

Filoni is a terrible writer, his directing isn’t great but it isn’t piss bad either unlike his writing and storytelling.

They did the same thing they did with Luke to boba fett and turned him into a complete different character. Filoni did the exact same thing that Ryan did.
One of the coolest characters turned into a lame old clown who gets punked by everyone.

@@haiderz4510 you no what’s funny, why don’t you do a sliver of research before making these claims, because every time something you don’t like happens in the so called mandoverse it’s DAVE FILONI! The book of boba fett was written by John favreau, Dave only co-wrote the finale.
Ahsoka episodes 4, 5, and 6 were fantastic. There was considerable scope. There were understandable stakes. There was intrigue (Baylan's motivations).
Its too bad the majority of the episodes were lacking. It seemed to me like Dave wasn't sure how to introduce the lore to the larger audience - and didn't know how or when to wrap the season up.
The anikan episode was terrible, they brought him back for no reason whatsoever only for a cameo. Sad part is that stuff like this works for simple minded people, they see their favourite character return even though it makes 0 sense for them to return they go wild and start dismissing all the bad.
What lesson did anakin even teach Ahsoka in that episode?
If it was to “keep fighting and not give up” then that makes 0 sense because there was no setup or anything alluding to Ahsoka feeling like she wanted to quit, stop fighting and give up.
It’s all just fan service for the sake of fan service.

Good Clone Wars was not written by him. Where as all of Ahsoka was. There is the difference. He is a mediocre writer when it comes to SW and is a male feminist who won't allow characters like Ahsoka and Sabine to go anywhere. He will push Ahsoka as if she is the most important character in SW.

Most of it was good. The only episodes I didn’t like very much were the last two.
@@Unicornpirate dude, he's a fucking director of Clone Wars, what is wrong with you? He was writing pretty much entire season 7 and as much as I hate Martez sisters arc the last 4 episodes written by him is a cinematic masterpiece.

@@AlexiosLair Directing and writing are totally different. Reason why a lot of Clone Wars was good is because he didn't write all of it. But he straight up sucks as a live action director and writer. That's not being salty. Look how he is writing Thrawn. If you read Heir to the Empire, you'd know Thrawn is not a moustache twirling villain like we see in Rebels and Ahsoka
Also the middle parts of season 7 of Clone Wars sucked straight up. With the sisters arc. But the last 4 episodes were epic. Filoni is great with animation but sucks with live action. Sabine should have died from that impalement by Shin straight up.

The closest he'll ever be to George is his later years where hating him was the "cool" thing to do......
