Vader is iconic to Star Wars and James Earl Jones himself god rest his souls gave Disney and game companies the rights to continue using his voice for projects he signed a infinity contract so that even long after his passing his voice could live on in many projects this was not done until right before his passing after Outlaws had released so I’m sure next time we see Vader it’ll be back to Jones’s voiceover
Vader is still the most popular SW character. Giving him anything less than the full 9 yards when creating him is just wasting your time. He has been done so much that if you dont get it right, its just that you didnt try.
U also have to take in the fact james was probably busy and couldnt do it or just wasnt up to it which u have to respect him he was old and now hes gone 💔
If it's not James Earl Jones, Matt Sloan is my second-best Vader. He was Chad Vader and got his start in official Star Wars in The Force Unleased series and comes back now and then for other projects.
i had one of these moment theory back when rogue one came out at cinema and i went with my mother back when vader was shown i whispered to my mother does vader seem kinda short to you and she was omg i cant unsee it so when i heard this vader voice in outlaw i was like bruh 💀
First time I heard vaders voice in outlaws I heard the same thing right away, something is def up with how they mixed his voice. They def jacked something up
The Mass Effect series had serious troubles with the voices of alien races after the Andromeda studio took over because they didn't have the equipment/files/setups to actually mix those voices... It was pretty embarrassing.
I’m a huge Darth Vader nerd, this was easily one of the best video game appearances really only rivaled by TFU2. Yeah that walk wasn’t the best but the model itself was LITERALLY SPOT ON. It’s like they infused the Kenobi and Empire suit. The voice also sounds really solid, like Vader in Rebels and Rogue One. It has that older tone to it and I really like that considering that Vader would be old here iirc.
I know it's only my headcanon but I'm trying to make up for the lack of quality. The way I see it is it's just like Vader's eye lenses. Basically that's just the parts he had for his voice synthesizer glitching out, or he just doesn't have the right parts cuz the emperor is cheaping out on him.
It is frustrating that they are constantly making Vader have no control over his emotions, overreacting to everything like he's a 12 year old girl. And not just Vader, but Kylo Ren acted this way. The cool villain era is gone.
Asmongold said it best: the little instances of things wrong build up and are red flags of a bigger issue. The reason Vader sounds different is because the studio got the idea that they would “improve” his voice and make it more effect-y. There was no one to say, no, his voice is iconic and cannot change. Where’s the ‘style sheet’ for Vader with rules for his voice?
The VO did a good job conveying Vader as a character, but the sound design needs a lot of work. I could make something closer to Vader's voice at home than they got with that. And for the record, I have before.
with James Earl Jones signing his voice rights to Disney with AI there's really no reason why future games shouldn't have his actual voice in them. worked well in Obi-Wan show.
I totally agree with @starwarstheoryplus the voice wasn’t mixed properly but I still enjoyed the game though despite what others may think. Mtfbwy from New Zealand 🇳🇿
🤔 Exactly. Prowse's Vader had a slight bop / swag to his walk.. And in the modern day at this level, you wouldn't expect the voice to be this significantly off, when there are a good few people who can do a pretty good decent imitation of JEJ's Vader...
To set the record straight: Lucasfilm can't use or sell the voice/likeness of James Earl Jones, beyond whatever he agreed to in any contract he signed, without his consent and compensation. This is true for all actors, and has been the legal status quo since Crispin Glover sued Universal Studios for using his likeness for the role of George McFly in Back To The Future Part 2.
Jus think, Dave Prowse was the Green Cross Code man here in the UK, teaching kids how to safely cross the road! That's right: DARTH VADER ('s body) was teaching kids in the 70s and 80s road safety! Our PSAs from those era are... something else, let me tell you! They're legendary! If you want more proof, jus look up "the spirit of water PSA"!
I saw that Vader clip on some short with music louder and didn't think much of it, but like here initially I often default to 2x speed so I was not in the place to give it much critical analysis initially... :P
The fact that the game's been out for more than a month or something like that and only JUST NOW this Vader voice is starting to get some traction speaks volumes on the appeal of Star Wars currently. People don't care.

I thought the iSB had extreme discipline... the high ranking official is running around with a big uniform violation over his shoulders.
Vader is still the most popular SW character. Giving him anything less than the full 9 yards when creating him is just wasting your time. He has been done so much that if you dont get it right, its just that you didnt try.
The scene itself is dope but the voice sounds like it came from character ai
I have to say nostalgia is everything after hearing that old Darth Vader seen, it put a big smile on my face too!
U also have to take in the fact james was probably busy and couldnt do it or just wasnt up to it which u have to respect him he was old and now hes gone 💔
God rest your soul Mr. James Earl Jones, your mighty voice can never be replaced.
If it's not James Earl Jones, Matt Sloan is my second-best Vader. He was Chad Vader and got his start in official Star Wars in The Force Unleased series and comes back now and then for other projects.
If there wasn’t the signature Vader breathing. I wouldn’t even know it was his voice. I’d think it was some generic robot.
i had one of these moment theory back when rogue one came out at cinema and i went with my mother back when vader was shown i whispered to my mother does vader seem kinda short to you and she was omg i cant unsee it so when i heard this vader voice in outlaw i was like bruh 💀
We can all do better impersonations ourselves. And they have James Earl Jones' voice rights!
I wish we could one day do a Star Wars original trilogy watch along with SWT. Probably won't happen but would be fun regardless
As soon as I heard that, I shook my head in confusion😂
It is frustrating that they are constantly making Vader have no control over his emotions, overreacting to everything like he's a 12 year old girl. And not just Vader, but Kylo Ren acted this way. The cool villain era is gone.
I KNEW HE WOULD HATE IT TOO 🤣 AAAA game making the only character in their game people care about sound like he just popped outta the 2000's
It’s funny too cause there’s so many people who can do a spot on impression and would probably do it for free
Vader in this walks like Aemond Targaryan from House of the dragon...
I give no quarter for poor craftsmanship. Imagine what you could do with the mouse’s budget. They chose the path they are on.
with James Earl Jones signing his voice rights to Disney with AI there's really no reason why future games shouldn't have his actual voice in them. worked well in Obi-Wan show.
I totally agree with @starwarstheoryplus the voice wasn’t mixed properly but I still enjoyed the game though despite what others may think. Mtfbwy from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Ok im done with ubisoft. The year we mourn James on top of that?!?!?!?! Im never forgiving them...
🤔 Exactly. Prowse's Vader had a slight bop / swag to his walk.. And in the modern day at this level, you wouldn't expect the voice to be this significantly off, when there are a good few people who can do a pretty good decent imitation of JEJ's Vader...
That video that makes Vader say "You don't know the power of one, the power of two, the power of maaaannyyyyy" sounds more convincing.
"This is an unqualified success for the ISB" = SBI = Sweet Baby inbreeds.
Sounds like they tried to use the rebels voice but in real life not realizing there’s echo in helmets😂
There’s an account with on here called Canadian Vader who uses James Earl Jones AI and redid this scene
Really enjoyed this scene despite the inaccuracies also the Boba Fett Easter Egg/Mini Cameo was awesome!
It’s ok Auto-Tune Vader isn’t real and can’t hurt you.
Auto-Tune Vader:
It would have cost each player an extra $50 for the real sound-mixed James Earl Jones voice.
Oh man I clicked on this thinking Theory's head would 🤯
If only that had been the only thing they ruined
THe glass scene was mega cool though. Only thing I disliked, was that he dared talking back for so long, before he was subdued!
I saw that Vader clip on some short with music louder and didn't think much of it, but like here initially I often default to 2x speed so I was not in the place to give it much critical analysis initially... :P
Yeah i thought it was really weird. I noticed the same thing with Landos voice. It just sounds off.
Vader is the original Space Marine
Took me a moment to figure out what the problem is because I thought the actual voice sounded fine. But yes, the sound mixing is a problem.
the voice in outlaws sounds alot more tinnie and metallic, like they reduced a bunch of the bass frequencies from the voice and boosted the highs
The fact that the game's been out for more than a month or something like that and only JUST NOW this Vader voice is starting to get some traction speaks volumes on the appeal of Star Wars currently.
People don't care.
Theory just only saw this now. It’s been going around for a while
@@oXRaptorzXo Definitely overshadowed by the rest of the poor reception then. And Theory isn't the only SW channel I follow and the Vader thing has started being a thing I see consistently for around 2-3 days so it's definitely not just Theory.
Scott Lawrence as Vader has always been hit-and-miss, depending on the audio-software. Personally, I think other actors deserve the honor of voicing him. Imagine Keith David or Kevin Michael Richardson voicing Darth Vader.
