Watch out for the thickness of plastic tube, eg, pen cap, that you push in and releases the hose clips.
Basically if it's too thin it gets stuck inside the coupling without lifting the clips, ie, DON'T push it in all the way if the 2 side clips aren't lifting because if some is hanging out you can use a blade to get it out again. I used 2mm half moon plastic tubes 12mm long.
It hurts to see pliers to tighten a bolt
