  • T. Colin Campbell, PhD has been dedicated to the science of human health for more than 60 years. His primary focus is on the association between diet and disease, particularly cancer. Although largely known for the China Study--one of the most comprehensive studies of health and nutrition ever conducted, and recognized by The New York Times as the “Grand Prix of epidemiology”--Dr. Campbell’s profound impact also includes extensive involvement in education, public policy, and laboratory research.

Fabulous interview! New sub!! The bravery and tenaciousness of Dr Campbell is commendable. Even at almost 90 he is still fighing the systems to bring this life saving information to the masses. 💚🥬🍓Can't wait for the book! I hope it opens lots more peoples eyes to the insatiable corruption of these profit driven industries.

Dr Campbell was my 3rd reference to plant based nutrition.
I was searching for wellness ideas years ago to improve myself.
My first vegetarian reference in 2001 was from reading the Hare Krishna books given out by the Krishna followers for free or by donation.
Around 2009 when the internet started becoming more popular I decided to search the web for any scientific evidence for vegetarianism.
I found a website by Dr William Harris of Hawaii talking about the high gains in vegetarianism. He also had references by Dr Campbell, Dr Esselstyn and Dr Barnard.
So I searched Dr T Colin Campbell and I've been a fan ever since 😮 😅

I concur with Dr. Campbell's observation that the fields of science and medicine often approach health and the human body in a fragmented manner. Unfortunately, it is easier to focus on isolated indicators like blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure which often yield only temporary improvements. Unless individuals address the underlying causes through lifestyle changes, these symptoms resurface with severe health consequences. Medicines can be effective as a bridge to health. However society has confused many medicines, which should have been only temporary bandaids, to be a way of life.
In today's context, food has become analogous to the detrimental impact of cigarettes; irrespective of weight, food addiction is overwhelming our medical system, contributing to 90% of chronic illnesses and allowing the rise of more contagious and virulent infections. The shortage of healthcare workers exacerbates this issue. Our medical system was not designed for primary prevention but to address sickness. Primary prevention is the job of public health and governments to work alongside with businesses. Seat belt laws, anti-smoking efforts, iodized salt are all examples of how a good public health system can work. But achieving and maintaining health is ultimately the day to day responsibility of the individual in our free society. Successful nutrition is centered around breeding good habits. This education should be as important as learning math and english and need to be taught in grade school. Our current medical system will never be able to fulfill this need.
To clarify, liver cancer in Asia can be attributed to various factors such as multiple hepatitis viruses (HBV, HAV, EBV, etc.), mold toxins like aflatoxin from grains, legumes and dried fish, alcohol consumption, smoking, and parasitic infections. These all should be addressed through preventing exposure and each insult needs to be addressed separately. I agree, as a double-boarded infectious disease physician actively practicing medicine with a plant-based, whole-food approach, there needs to be an integration of nutritional strategies. Combining targeted medicines and lifestyle will provide a more comprehensive and effective approach to disease prevention and treatment.
Until govts invest in primary prevention, medical professions will continue to plug these holes with pharma drugs to buy time because that is what society expects and how the system currently works.

Best talk yet by Dr. Campbell! He hits on many, many aspects of nutrition and surrounding topics. I learned much here. However, from the beginning I could see you gave him the most uncomfortable chair with no back support and lo & behold by the end he clearly has an achy back.

Amazing man and amazing scientist. Why it is not common knowledge to know about the link between cancer and animal protein is mind numbing. My wifes oncologist has been pretty quiet on the whole subject. Never told her to put down the bacon double cheeseburger. Maybe his arterial blood flow to his brain was too impaired after downing a basket of chicken mcnugget he had for lunch. He does have a huge bowel of candy outside his office, must be a new cancer treatment.........
