its a bandaid, I love it! I especially liked the idea of saving old guides that are still reusable from broken rods...nearly threw one out just now. I will be honest I am searching how to replace guides because I have some rods that have completely rusted guides but I love the rods so much.

I love seeing these tips. Sometimes you need a quick fix and don’t want to send your rod out for repair. 👍🏻 Thanks brother.

Oh my! I get it Edwin, it gets it done but as a custom rod builder I had to laugh. I do rod repair and replace a guide for about $10. If you want it to look near new, look up a local rod builder. 😁

Thanks for basic, workable, solutions. So many of the other things on the Internet require special tools and set ups for your rod to roll, etc. This is good information. Thanks.

I do pretty much the same thing only I will split a short piece of electric tape and wrap it around the foot of the guide one time, to hold the guide in place to get the thread started. I use sewing thread but I will try braid next time. Thanks for the tip.

Hey man id like to ask your opinion. I'm hoping to purchase a newer boat this coming spring, I've owned ranger ,skeeter, and current boat is also ranger. I like the way these boats set and ride in the water..ive been looking at the nitro boats but know nothing about them or anyone who owns one.. How in your opinion does the Nitro boats compare to ranger and skeeter. These are the 3 im most interesting in.. Thank you

Final step, try some liquid electrical tape vs super glue. Small dab and spread even with a small brush, no white residue like the super glue leaves.

Edwin, I broke the tip off about 4" below the guide. Would you put a new guide on your rod or just scrap it for parts? It is one of my favorite rods and fairly new. Will it change the action? Was a 7' 4" long.

    • @EdwinEversfishing

Please do not use super glue then expect to have that guide replaced properly by a real rod repair person in the future. I've built custom rods for 22 years and have repaired for that long as well. Super glue is a nightmare to get off the rod blank. I love your videos Edwin and I watch nearly all of them with great enthusiasm but I had to stop this one half way through. It was like finger nails scratching on a chalkboard to me.
Thank you for the great videos.... just not this one.
