Thanks so much for having me on Matt! The CSR is obviously a staple card in my setup, but it's not for everyone. I'm gonna continue loving it either way though! 😆
Thanks so much Luke!! Definitely- Spencer has a really interesting perspective on the CSR and was great hearing about his own experiences with the Card!
Do you think any of the "luxary cards" Are worth it if you don't fly? For example. We travel a lot with our kids but always drive. The reserve has my most attention due to the point boost. Just wondering your opinion!
I think one of the luxury Hotel Cards could make sense especially in that case if you stay at Hilton's frequently, the Aspire could be worth it! the Platinum could be worth it depending on how much value you get from the Credits as well. Thanks so much for watching Hank!
@MattWelterOfficial agreed! I love marriott. Not a huge hilton guy but I noticed a lot of the places we go to have nice Hiltons. The reserve just had me for the point boost in the portal. But I'll look into it. Thank you!
I currently hold both csr and csp. What I'm thinking is since i still hold an old wf visa signature (1.5cpp In the portal) is that I'll drop the csr, keep the csp, get autograph journey (the points pool, so 1.5cpp for effective 50/yr). I would then have c1 duo, citi trifecta, wf duo, and chase double quadfecta all for only 300/yr total (venture1, csp, citi premier, and autograph journey, but no lounge access, nbd). Also, if it's just domestic you're after, alaska, American (and sometimes delta) have (sometimes) great rates. I like to save my chase pts for hyatt or xfer bonuses almost exclusively, but 1.5cpp for boutique hotels ain't bad either if that's what suits your needs. Cheers!
Forgot to mention also, avianca and aeroplan have (almost always) better rates domestically for flying ua than united itself does. With a very little amount of research, i think you'll find that 1.5cpp for economy domestic is just not that good. My last 2 F9 redemptions have yielded 2.4 and 2.8cpp, and those are FRONTIER MILES!!!! American domestic I've averaged close to 3cpp, and Alaska i would say closer to 3.5cpp domestic.
Is it possible to use the $300 travel credit within Chase's travel portal, like with the Venture X travel credit, or is it strictly only for travel purchases outside of the portal?
Definitely- the 1.5x UR Redemption is absolutely what seems to drive the most amount of value for him especially with consistent domestic travel. Thanks so much Stan!
CSR for 1.5/ travel credit (everyday use card).... amex for plat lounge/air credits/phone ins... just added hilton aspire for diamond status, yearly free night award/ flight & hotel credits...... honorabel mention: marriot boundless for annual free night cert, alaska for annual companion cert, united for 2 lounge yearly and free bags
Those are all great cards and I love that you have specific use cases for each of the Cards that you are using within your setup. Thanks so much for watching Jay!
I have to be honest, the only two seasons i am keeping the CSR, are the 1.5X boost on portal and hyatt. If one of these features gets removed i will immediately jump ship.

Of course Spencer! Thanks so much for coming on & it was great to hear your break-down & perspective on the CSR.
Great video! The CSR is such an interesting card to listen to other people talk about!!

I know now is not the time, but why is Spencer’s hair always perfect?
Good stuff Matt + Spencer, great collab!!

Joe Keery is his stunt double. Spencer is the real star

I thought you could only have one Sapphire card
@@charliedurham4248 if you have one open, you can product change into another, you just can't open another new one

Love that! Thanks so much for watching!

You can use it for any travel purchases outside of the portal or within the portal! Thanks so much for watching Nick!
@@MattWelterOfficial Thanks for the reply Matt
The breakeven point between the CSP and CSR is 80k UR points redeemed in the portal per year ($1,200+), assuming no value from Sapphire lounge.
If that 1.5X UR redemption was nerfed, I think Spencer would drop the card. It may even push him towards the Hyatt cards even faster!!

Started watching both in 2024, love the advice from each and can't wait for next years content!!
Thanks so much David! We both really appreciate your support!
The card is not for me. Great job on UA-cam ♥️
Thanks so much Vicki!
