  • Swapping out the clutch cable on your 48, whether that be for aesthetics or better performance, is not difficult. Take a look to see how I did mine! NOTE: As some have mentioned you must leave a little slack in the line. A good measure is about the thickness of a nickel or a 1/4 turn out should do the trick. Check your users/shop manuals depending on your year/model to ensure you use the right measurements so that your clutch lever has a little room/play in it that you could fit a nickel between where the lever meets the mounting bracket.

When tightening the clutch adjustment screw you need to backup about a 1/4 of a turn the clutch needs that play or it could wear out too fast as well as the clutch lever play which should be about 1/8

I do believe that you failed to actually adjust the clutch. In the video you demonstrated to turn the adjuster screw until it was finger tight, or however you described it. You skipped the part about backing the adjuster screw a quarter to half turn.

@enriquecardenas1335 mentioned this, too, and they are absolutely correct (see comment above from a few weeks ago). I added a Note to the video description to let everyone know you do want to leave a little slack in the cable.

Great question! Its all dependent on your setup, and I recommend you measure your current bar length down to te casing where the clutch enters the case. That's the best way to determine what you're going to need for your setup!
