A niche use case not mentioned is Apple Fitness+ on the Apple TV, and the very neat way it integrates with your Apple Watch to display your heartbeat and workout rings in realtime. Yes you get the same experience on your iPhone, or iPad, but the big screen and big sound makes everything else quite inferior.
Best Movie Streamer for Home theater enthusiast. Sure it cost a little more but it Worth it. I was using the Roku 4k ultra before and the AppleTV 4k blows it away. Its like the Difference between a Mercedes 7 series and a VW Beetle. I don’t even use the Roku anymore. The AppleTV has so many features I don’t know how they sell it for so cheap. And you can use any bluetooth headphones with the AppleTV.
Pretty sure that saving logins ISN'T within Apple's control, since it needs authentication tokens (cookies) from the third-party. Although, they could save the password, it'd still require you to login again.
To me the best thing of Apple tv is the bluetooth transmitter feature. I use it so much. I use it alot in various speakers. Like a JBL shower speaker and other big speakers. For example when I turn on already paired speakers the apple tv streams it without turning on the TV or apple tv itself. The apple tv light is off but still playing music on my speaker. I use it alot in parties. Take the apple tv paired with a portable monitor and any bt speaker that has mic 🎤 and turns into the perfect karaoke box. Relatives and friends refer to it as the the apple karaoke box. They even bought one when they see what it is capable of.
There are two big downsides with the AppleTV for me : - It doesn't passthrough audio that isn't Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital+. It means if you're using it as a streaming box for Plex or Infuse, most of your audio will be transcoded to PCM, and you'll lose the Atmos metadata on things like Dolby TrueHD (Plex is also not well thought out on it so even Dolby Digital content gets transcoded unlike on Infuse). - It applies video dithering that cannot be disabled. This is a big issue if you're on an OLED screen watching content in 24hz mode as that dithering can cause the panel to flicker in dark areas on low bitrate content. If these are big issues for you, I would recommend going for an Nvidia Shield Pro instead as it has none of these two issues, although the software experience isn't as great as on tvOS aside from that.
That’s what I don’t understand. Apple brags about how powerful their streaming device is but their audio output is restricted to Atmos and PCM (which sounds bad). Yes you can go into the audio settings and change Atmos to Dolby Digital but you have to change it back if you want to stream a movie with Atmos sound. Why does the Firestick, tv apps, Nvidia , etc do the audio switching automatically without me having to go into settings to change the audio output? It really baffles me. The Apple device is also one of the most expensive streaming device and yet their audio capability is pretty meager
I’m thinking of upgrading my Apple TV because Fubo TV looks bad on my Samsung QN85C. Would the newest Apple TV clean up low quality content better than native tv apps or the previous Apple TV?

Hi. I merely have an Apple TV box; my television is a 6 year old Samsung "smart" TV. Do I glean any content benefits from just the Apple TV box? Thanks.
The swipe feature on the remote is the first thing I switched off, I did not like it at all. Besides that, I love my Apple TV 4K. I stream everything trough it, even "regular" tv watching through my provider's app. It's so handy to have everything in one place, and controlled by a single remote.
Hi Josh. I watch a lot of NBA games on NBA League Pass, and I use the Airplay to cast to my LG TV, but I feel that a lot of quality is lost. Have you watched sports in the Apple TV 4K? I'm not sure if I should go with the Apple TV 4K or the Nvidia Shield TV Pro
I think it’s under rated. But the A series chip is what you’re paying for. Especially since they’re doing more with gaming. I can see an M2 apple tv releasing to play full games with there services.
its really fast but I hate the fact that the select button is also a touch pad. if I am not careful, I will move the selection right before pressing the button. It is a design flaw that I didnt expect to see in an Apple product
If you had anything other than the shield then yes would be a decent upgrade. But since the shield is still quite relevant, I'd say wait for a new shield or a new apple TV.
I'm not sure is this true or not but I heard a couple of times from different reviews that watching movies on Apple TV box are much better high quality in terms of everything then if you use built-in Apple TV app in any Smart TV and watching same content. i heard that built-in Apple tv app for example even if it says under movie dolby vision or dolby atmos in reality it does not show real 100% dolby vision or atmos, the colors are just a little different or dynamic tone is different in a movie or highlights are different but when you watch same movie using Apple TV box you notice that the movie much higher quality colors are richer and so on. is that true
I just picked one up for £33.95 as I had an Apple gift voucher from my MacBook purchase. I decided to go for an Apple TV 4K 3rd Gen as my TV is 4K@60Hz and, my past two Smart TVs have died in two years each and I used the Smart TV apps every day for that time period, so I want this TV to last for as long as possible 😅. Also, the Smart TV apps on my current TV can be a bit sluggish sometimes.
I have one. I like it, my wife hates the touch sensor part of the remote. I will say the TCL Roku TV we have is perfectly fine, and in many ways more user friendly. I mainly use the Apple TV now for Plex and for listening with airpods.

That's one of the reasons why I bought the 3rd gen Apple TV 4K back in February earlier (128 GB w/Ethernet port). The Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max that I have *at best,* only has a 1.8 GHz CPU, a 750 MHz GPU & 2 GB's of DDR4 RAM. The 3rd Generation Apple TV 4K? Runs on a A15 Bionic Processing chip with 4 GB's of LPDDR4 RAM. Its CPU has 3.23 GHz w/6 cores (one high-efficiency core disabled) & its GPU has 5 cores with a 16-core Neural Engine. Another reason is that the internal flash memory storage on the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is _much,_ much less (only 8 GB! Even less considering that 2.5 GB's of it has to be saved for the operating system software, which meant you can't have a lot of apps stored on the device beyond 5.5 GB's). You couldn't even uninstall the Amazon apps themselves for more storage! Ridiculous. Since buying the 3rd Gen Apple TV 4K, I've been using it _a lot more_ than my Fire TV Stick altogether. Though I wish that the Apple TV in general also had The Roku Channel.
Question. So for airplay and streaming from safari from my phone will it allow for hdr to take affect on anything I choose to watch or are all of these features limited to the content on apples tv+ service and therefore render all non Apple content the same as my LGs standard ui. If someone can shed some light on this id appreciate it!
0:27 honestly the Apple TV 4K (1st Gen) often has a better picture then my (what was top of the line for the Amazon tv) Amazon Omni 55 inch default software. Same TV. But different hardware powering it. And it’s the FIRST GEN Apple TV 4K…
One flaw that all Apple TV's have is athe Apple TV is not password protected. I'd feel much better knowing that if someone turned on my Apple TV when I'm not there that they can't go through my apps like UA-cam, camera apps or etc. Considering how Apple is all about security it's odd that this is overlooked.

Really looking into getting a apple TV, as although my LG C2 has a ok UI I find it can be slow sometimes, and just thought an Apple TV with an A15 is going to be really smooth, this video kind sold me plus the lack of ads is appealing too.
Whoever is using this guide me If I can connect Apple Box with my soundbars wirelessly via Bluetooth as if they are not from Apple Company ?
Would this be worth it for my lg c2 or should I wait for the Apple TV 4K gen 4
Buy nvidia shield pro and thank me later
@@Morro44 gaming isn’t really a concern for me I have the Xbox series x and almost never game even though I have the most important is the screen quality of movies/videos and sound
I dont use the shield for gaming. I mainly use it for Plex. For dolby vision and lossless audio its the best. Apple tv is smoother i have to admit so it depends what i are going to use it for and your audio system.
@@Morro44 it will be mostly for movies and tv shows the audio would probably come from my polk signa s4
I find the apple tv to restricted. I also use tivimate for iptv on my shield. For just regular streaming services the apple tv is very good. In your case, i take my first comment back, just buy the apple tv and try it out. Its a great device
Alexa vs Apple TV? I am using Alexa for years but I was thinking to switch as I faced some security issues: any recommendations from someone who swapped ?
The absolute gold standard and best tech reviewer on UA-cam.
I have LG Evo C3 OLED is this worth getting ?
Depends on how much or what exactly you watch. If the TV is hardly used or just one or 2 apps are being used then you can skip. But if its going to be a centerpiece of your entertainment center then yes it is worth getting (as long as you avoid the value proposition)
Wow you definitely sold me with this one , getting it asap
I recently cut the cord and moved to fiber network. My Samsung TV is a crap in stream youtube TV. This Apple TV 4k is fabulous after a little tweak in settings. Even youtube videos sound far better.
I love the swipe feature. I always try and swipe when I’m using my normal tb remote
Swipe is the reason to buy to me
Lots of glitches with the 3rd gen 4k. My 2021 2nd gen has almost no issues.
I do not have the latest apple tv because I do not want to input all my passwords again.
/sarcasm
The newest Apple TV 4K is only Hdmi 2.1, my TV has Dolby Vision HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG, but I only have Hdmi 2.0.
Will it still work?
Yes. The apple TV just has HDMI 2.1 by design. Otherwise its not using anything that would require 2.1. So a HDMI 2.0 system will work fine
@@ZK-APA Thank you sir.
I lost my LG OLED magic remote im thinking about getting a Apple TV 4k due to the lag in apps i was having anyways.
I am also having problems with my Samsung Serif's out-of-the-box software lagging. I wonder where I can get an HDMI cable in my country
It is possible to install Tidal app on it from his appstore? Tks!
Can i download any app on the apple 4k tv ? Like from a store or no? Its limited
Excellent video. Kudos as well for saying "prompts the question" instead of "begs the question." That always annoys me.
I’ve got the latest Nvidia Shield. Is it worth me buying this? I have Apple Watch Ultra 2 and iPhone 15. Thanks.
YOU’RE a bit sluggish at times, pal! 😂
@@dionst.michael1482 ??
@@dionst.michael1482 8 months later I see this out of pocket comment and it made me laugh lol
I have one. I like it, my wife hates the touch sensor part of the remote. I will say the TCL Roku TV we have is perfectly fine, and in many ways more user friendly. I mainly use the Apple TV now for Plex and for listening with airpods.
You can turn off that touch sensor in setting. Hope this helps.
Not sure why but mine says that too. It feels like the only reason to own one…
Very good, comprehensive review. The Siri tip for "what did they say? " is gold. However, I am curious why you're impressed that it has a power button on the remote though... Lol
You never mentioned apple arcade. Isn’t that a major feature?
I’M a major feature too baby! Ask anybody 😂
The zeskit cinema plus cables work great for Dolby vision and Atmos. TechnoDad found these to do all the less lossy surround modes.
The Zeskit Maya are even better & only a few dollars more.
Does it support crunchyroll?
yes
So since I have to setup using my Apple ID does this mean anyone that uses the Apple TV device will also have access to my private stuff like pictures and messages….?
Yes! That’s why we’re all laughing at you! You’re funny lookin 😂
A fun drinking game might be taking a sip every time he says, "Apple TV" 🍻
Hiccup, pardon, hiccup! 😂
Nice upload😊 what ever hall to that a hdmi cable link in description though?
I'm torn between buying the current Apple TV or waiting for an update. Any advice or perspective would be greatly appreciated.
When is the new version's release date? if it's within 3 months, then wait for it.
You sir have made me want Apple TV thank you.
Same here 😊
Do you need to buy apple tv like Netflix or when you buy a device you will like get it
I want TrueHD and DTS-HD MA passthrough support!!!
Looking forward the 4th generation. A17?
Excellent presentation!
Does apple tv support led tv?
Any type
Hi, Good review and may consider updating to latest model. But can you help, I am in uk and use Netflix, Disney, Apple TV etc through my tv provider in Sky. I see you have an amp as I do, I use a Yamaha amp with Kef in wall speakers in 5.1 system If I use my tv provider my amp picks the DSP sound I have set, however if I watch using Netflix app or use Apple 4k tv it changes the sound field on amp and does not sound as good. So is it better to use apps on tv and Apple TV 4K or my sky q tv provider.. I am an apple family subscriber so have full Apple TV
8:37 wait so let’s say I have the remote on my phone & use the remote on my phone I can’t also use the remote sametime as my phone remote how do I disconnect my phone remote what one is better to use ? If I disconnect my phone I’m able to use the phone remote again right ?
Hello thank you for your great reviews! ✨
I still have a question, I saw Final Fantasy 7 (OG) is available on iOS and iPadOS (not in Arcade but to purchase) is it possible to play the game on the TV? If not, is it possible to mirror my iPad on Apple TV or would it decrease the game’s quality and input lag 🤔
I’ll probably buy an Apple TV anyways in September (never know if there will be a new one 😅) and I’d wait to play FF7 until then if I can play it on the Apple TV
Sorry for the specific question 😅
How did you manage to make the Apple TV to show as an accessory in the Home app Automations?
It automatically shows up in the list of devices for automations when its added to your home in the Apple Home app.
@@6MonthsLater Weird. It doesn’t show up to me.
@@udobenliedivanaYOU’RE weird ya weirdo! 😂
I take mine with me, when traveling throughout Asia, because most hotel dont have English programming.
I get Dolby Vision over a HDMI 2.0 cable. 2.1 is almost unnecessary.
When I try using the mic feature on my fire stick remote the app crashes lol.
What apps can I use multiview on?
I have already my samsung cristal tv cu7000 50 pp what would be the difference I have UA-cam already Netflix don't use it really but have it there's some other apps but after those are the most needed for any user I have Disney I don't use it there's a few I don't really use because I don't need to pay montly for each app by the way you didnt said the bad things probably there's bad things even after is so good
I am amazed at the detail of your review😊 u just got my sub
How amazed tho?!
Please please please does it have the app store
It does
I love my Apple TV 4k!!
My fire tv stick sucks and run slow 😢
just like any other piece of tech made by amazon
The apple tv shouldve been a wireless charging device and the remote shouldve had wireless charging capabilities.
I'm using PS4 as my streaming device it's have UA-cam and Netflix and Spotify ECT.
Wifi one isn’t great when you stream 4k better the pay the few extra for the wired one
Are there TV shows that you can watch for free or must you pay monthly subscription?
because I’m comparing it to Amazon, which allows free TV watching
Does this work in the US only... can it work in Jamaica
What’s a jamaica?!
Channel name: 6MonthsLater Me: Watching this video 6 months ago in the present
I don’t watch TV but I wanted spacisl audio and home hub
You look like Zack from Saved by the bell!!! Great video.
That’s his kid
Dude, the parking at Crabtree vally mall sucks..... especially during rush hour on Glenwood
Go in the back way via Edwards Mill and through a business park, never enter that mall off Glenwood. It is indeed, a nightmare.
Just out of curiosity, what is theatre mode exactly in that Siri Shortcut you showed?
It's a mode on the Apple Watch that dims the display so it won't show when you're in a movie theater, for example.
ah gotcha, didn't realize there was anything separate from the regular DND mode for the watch
I wish the had the 128GB Apple TV 4K in WI-FI ONLY!
You've got technical inaccuracies when speaking about HDR.
So what's the point of having this when you have a ps5 or smart tv with all these apps already?
Efficiency. Smart TV apps get laggy very fast (they don't have the best hardware).
I’m sold. Just ordered mine. The OS on my Samsung is sluggish and aggravating.
You need better company if you worry about people getting on your stuff. Better passwords.
Facts. Maybe Touch ID on remote.
Great idea!@@Vipce
