  • Apple TV 4K (2022) Review - It Changed My Life! | Apple TV Review (3rd Gen) - 5 Months Later
As someone who has always been against owning an Apple TV if you already have a Smart TV, I decided to give the 2022 Apple TV 4K (3rd Generation) a try. And to be honest, it has completely blown me away over the past 165 days!
In this review, we discuss how the Apple TV 4K from 2022 has quite literally changed my life in the living room, why I feel like it's the best ROI Apple product out there, why I'm using a pair of HomePods (stereo paired) as my audio source, and lastly, if you should buy a 3rd Generation Apple TV or not. Enjoy!

Hey @Brandon Butch I’ve been having an issue with the software and I can’t find anything on it that is exactly my problem. So basically whenever I’m on an existing call I’m not receiving an incoming call. For example, I’m on a call with my friend and my mom try’s to call me. But it won’t ring for her it just kicks her straight to voicemail even though she’s on my emergency contact, favorites, and even emergency bypass. Idk if it’s software or maybe one of my settings. But if u can pls maybe include it in ur next video to demonstrate it visually or get back to me and reply here that would be great. Thank u and have a great day

I bought the Apple TV 4K (64GB model) a couple months ago, and I'm loving it. I've used Roku and Chromecast before, but the Apple TV just runs a lot smoother. I think it's definitely worth the extra money over the cheaper streaming box options because you really do get the most value from what Apple offers. I also like the added security of Apple's software over some of the competition. My favorite feature has to be the seamless connection of my Airpods Pro when I want to watch something in my apartment without disturbing the neighbors. Thanks for the review Brandon! Glad you seem to be loving it too.

Been using an AppleTV since the day they first came out with gen1.... upgraded each new model since.
The killer feature and USP of the whole thing is the aggregating TV app that keeps track of shows, new episodes, and new seasons across most (NETFLIX SORT YOURSELVES OUT HERE!!!!!) streaming services.
It makes it possible to ditch more expensive satellite/cable TV providers and theres no longer a need for a PVR either..... add to that the fact the content syncs across the phone and iPad and its super convenient,
Oh, and the lack of Ads littering the interface is another huge bonus although with 16.2 onwards they are uncomfortably creeping towards unwanted content ads that have become a little too intrusive......

I recently got the latest two generation versions of the Apple TV 4K. To be honest, besides the physical features, there aren’t too many differences on the software front. There is one huge difference that I like though with the latest Apple TV. The fact that the screen doesn’t go black so the refresh rate actually works. The picture is so rich and with the latest tvOS software, the Apple TV works so well with HomePods and HomePod Minis. I have HomePod Minis and I live in an apart so I am satisfied with the sound and functionality of them along side the HomePods.

I started with the first gen, which was making the home’s best sound system and big screen tv into an iPod. It was before streaming was much of a thing, so you downloaded content or had it feed from an iTunes library on a Mac or PC on the network. I have plenty of that content still, which has followed me to the current generation.
I wish there were some iOS and iPadOS apps on it - I had a great yoga subscription that was on those two, but not tvOS, and setting up AirPlay to use it was a pain. The device itself, however, just works, day, after week, after month, after year. The consistency makes it less necessary to upgrade since the 4th generation added apps, but when I replace my current tv, I will likely grab the newest Apple TV as well as my current setup isn’t 4K yet.

Just ordered mine! Got a new QLED with google tv and the lag and choppiness in the UI on live tv is dang near unusable. Like 10 seconds to change a channel terrible. Saw a ton of people say that ATV is the only way to go for Directv stream or any other streaming/live events. Can’t wait to try it!

One question (which I can't seem to find an answer for):
Does the Apple TV 4K override any important *native* features of a smart tv? I have an Samsung QN90A QLED which boasts an "Intelligent Mode" which supposedly upscales non 4k content with impressive results...I want to use Apple TV 4K but don't want to lose out on this native feature....

I got the new ATV when it launched the remote with usbc I am in love. I had the older version that had the worst remote ever that’s the reason I didn’t use it anymore. Also love that’s fanless means no dust gets inside. I like the touch and button combo on the new remote. I didn’t turn off the touch it’s implemented way better then with the old remote. Are the homepods worth it? Or is a separate sound stage better? Homepods would kind of be my only option on my monitor. I use beyerdynamic headphones connected to the monitor now. I also use Spotify. Also have homepod mini in my bedroom which I rarely use but have found out that Spotify isn’t great on there is this Spotify’s ignorance or Apple’s? Is it possible to copy and paste entire playlist from Spotify to Apple music? On the remote I turned off that it opened the sleep menu when pressing the mulitask/appswitcher button it’s annoying. That setting is somewhat buried in the settings page. You could move the streaming services to the top row the up next session will work with thiose apps if you do that. Idk. Good video

Just wondering… do you think that the image quality you get from the Apple TV is the same, better or worse than the quality you get from you smart TV apps ; Lets say the Netflix app.
When i compare them, to me it´s like the image quality of the Apple TV is a bit less than that of the native app on the TV itself. Im kind of trying different settings and cables to see if i can match them.
