Hey @Brandon Butch I’ve been having an issue with the software and I can’t find anything on it that is exactly my problem. Its so funny that you started off this video with you saying that you told yourself "I have a smart tv, why on earth do I need an Apple TV?" because thats exactly what I've been telling myself since my tv has Netflix, Disney, and UA-cam all built-in. But after you showed how you can switch between those platforms seamlessly and all of the benefits of having Siri controlling everything, I think I'm sold. I'm always using Netflix and UA-cam, so simply being able to speak into the remote to rewind and fast forward, and what I want to search is what I really see myself taking advantage of. Plus the tvOS interface is so clean, and I actually never thought about the security side of things until you brought it up.

I recently got the latest two generation versions of the Apple TV 4K. To be honest, besides the physical features, there aren’t too many differences on the software front. There is one huge difference that I like though with the latest Apple TV. The fact that the screen doesn’t go black so the refresh rate actually works. The picture is so rich and with the latest tvOS software, the Apple TV works so well with HomePods and HomePod Minis. I have HomePod Minis and I live in an apart so I am satisfied with the sound and functionality of them along side the HomePods.

I got my Apple 4K TV a few months ago just because the WEBOS on my LG C2 is terrible. I have 2 new HomePods Second Gen and 3 minis in my TV room. It sounds really good when i connect them all together via Airplay.
I started with the first gen, which was making the home’s best sound system and big screen tv into an iPod. It was before streaming was much of a thing, so you downloaded content or had it feed from an iTunes library on a Mac or PC on the network. I have plenty of that content still, which has followed me to the current generation. I wish there were some iOS and iPadOS apps on it - I had a great yoga subscription that was on those two, but not tvOS, and setting up AirPlay to use it was a pain. The device itself, however, just works, day, after week, after month, after year. The consistency makes it less necessary to upgrade since the 4th generation added apps, but when I replace my current tv, I will likely grab the newest Apple TV as well as my current setup isn’t 4K yet.
Presumably you can also connect other bluetooth earphones to the apple tv outside of just airpods? maybe not with such a seamless connection process but it must be doable right?
Just ordered mine! Got a new QLED with google tv and the lag and choppiness in the UI on live tv is dang near unusable. Like 10 seconds to change a channel terrible. Saw a ton of people say that ATV is the only way to go for Directv stream or any other streaming/live events. Can’t wait to try it!
I live in Middle East in Bahrain I use to have Apple TV since 10 years and now I really want to parches the latest Apple TV , in fact I love every thing about apple
As an early adopter of AppleTV I have accumulated several over time. The best thing about that is the AirPlay. Now I configure them with a tv the just move them as a speaker connected box for my garage, patio, kitchen etc and have whole home audio throughout the day
I’m sure you can but that’s only if you have cable tv that you are paying for. Some cable tv providers let there customers download their apps and stream the channels that way, so I’d say yes.
This is the thing I love about Apple. The more you have, the more things work together. People can hate on them all they want, some of it definitely is valid, and I’ll admit, they do things sometimes I’m not a huge fan of (looking at you, Apple Intelligence), and pricing is definitely upmarket, but everything just works, it looks nice, it works nice, and it feels nice. I’ll never go back to Android, and ALL smart TV OS’s sucks ass. Apple should absolutely make something like Sky Glass, an ACTUAL TV, powered by Apple. I probably wouldn’t be able to afford it, but it would be great to see that as an option alongside the box. The ONE thing I wish this thing could do is detect TV HDMI inputs and allow you to switch them without having to go through the TV’s OS. Maybe it does, and I don’t know. If someone could clarify, that would be great.
Yes I know, those HomePod cords are hideous 😅 they'll be hidden soon.

@@wakeupcall2665 I had to look that up because that is wild. I've never heard of anyone selling apple products with alternative accessories bundled, like that custom Apple TV remote. Is this an apple manufactured part? does Apple sanction this? I can see why they offer it though especially for people coming from cable tv remotes with 100 buttons. I wonder if you can buy these beefed up t-mobile remotes separately for the rest of us...
According to articles tvOS has received an upgrade to Siri using new AI technologies, that's probably why the search and Siri in general feels better on tvOS than iOS.
makes sense, it feels more accurate every time I use it!
Still not available in Poland
Can you have it to where it doesn’t sync to your iPhone? Like I don’t want people using my tv and then going thru my photos
Can you sideload apps?
Thanks for the review! Have you tried Google Chromecast with Google TV? Does it allow to cast audio to Airpods?
We just got one. If you’re an iPhone, Apple HomeKit, Mac user, this is the icing on the cake.
I have a 2020 ATV and I'm definitely getting the new one because of this video.
I just wonder if it's worth waiting for the next gen?
The great thing is next year you get to do another review on the updated version! Just think about how much better that's going to change your life even more. Crazy times we live in.
Do you need to pay for Apple TV plus to own it and use it?
The 64GB model goes on sale for $99 on Amazon every so often, with the new remote being $60 on its own that’s a crazy good deal!
99$ ? That's for sure the gen 2 no the 3
Loved the FaceTime feature and the mirror your laptop
How much do you call it again ??😮
Apple TV is amazing to listen to Apple Music in Dolby Atmos, if you have a soundbar with rear speakers and Dolby Atmos support, totally worth it.
When do you think the next gen will be out ?
I could follow all your points until you said it might be worth the upgrade from the 2021 version.
No one's gonna lift their Apple TV on a daily basis and notice the weight difference...
Yeah my face crunched up from that one as well. Especially leading with that reason 😂
I’ve been using an Apple TV for years and its one of my fav products by far. I use it for hours a day and never understand how people survive with random streaming sticks.
I have a Apple TV 4K I just bought
Aren’t the streaming sticks to get shows without buying it? How does the Apple TV stream for free?
Brandon, I use one app only in addition to Netflix and they work so fine on my Samsung smart tv. Do you think do I need the Apple TV? I had same thoughts as you that it’s the only device I didn’t get.
If thats the case then you can skip the apple TV, unless your TV apps are lagging way too much.
11:23 i will get a Apple TV because of your review. I have a 2nd gen and it will go to another room. Thank you for taking the time on this
Wait! Since when is Netflix integrated into Apple TV? Last I checked, if I ask it to play something on Netflix, it says it's not supported.
Your Apple TV is probably an older version.
@@shapyronyt183 it’s not, actually. It’s literally the same model as it’s in the video, and also, basic features like app integrations don’t work based on the model but on the software version. :)
I have had mine for 4 months I love it ❤
You sold me on it! I actually just purchased it right now and I’ll be picking it up at my nearby Apple store as soon as I get the email confirmation to pick up my purchase. Great video and thanks!
Do not buy it. It is not worth. Overpriced device. Also it brings you slowly into the Apple manipulation.
I bought mine from my tv provider at 69€ (new, 128gb, ethernet, 4k) and I have to say that I’m now in love with it
Brandon, your video was very informative and well done. I already own several Apple TVs, but do not have the latest one that you are discussing. Base on your review, I see a new addition to my Apple collection. Keep up the good work. 👍
So you use two home pods at once?
I've always been on the edge on buying an Apple TV. But I just bought one to hook up into my new apartment that i'm moving into this summer
very nice! You will love it
If i use android phone, can i open Disney on my phone and cast to apple tv?
Can you have multiple profiles with their own accounts linked to them?
Everything Apple creates looks just so dang clean i swear!
I cannot do without mine. I got it in the latter half of 2020. Zero regrets. It’s my second best (iPhone 13 mini) Apple purchase of the last 5 years.
I got my Apple 4K TV a few months ago just because the WEBOS on my LG C2 is terrible. I have 2 new HomePods Second Gen and 3 minis in my TV room. It sounds really good when i connect them all together via Airplay.
I must say, I too I was blown by how much better it is from the previous generation! And it works so good with my Samsung sound bar through eArc
I like all your reviews dude but how can a streaming device change someone’s life?
That's what I was thinking too.
I went out and bought one yesterday after watching your video!! Love it!
What is the size of your tv?
Presumably you can also connect other bluetooth earphones to the apple tv outside of just airpods? maybe not with such a seamless connection process but it must be doable right?
Yeah any bluetooth headphones will do
Just ordered mine! Got a new QLED with google tv and the lag and choppiness in the UI on live tv is dang near unusable. Like 10 seconds to change a channel terrible. Saw a ton of people say that ATV is the only way to go for Directv stream or any other streaming/live events. Can’t wait to try it!
Do I need a smart TV if I have Apple TV 4K latest set box?
You made me order one! Thanks lol
Best apple tv ad
Great review, What tv do you have?
I plan on getting one for my second tv
Thanks for this video! Do you know if you can you view photos and documents on this device?
loving these talking heads bro
I live in Middle East in Bahrain I use to have Apple TV since 10 years and now I really want to parches the latest Apple TV , in fact I love every thing about apple
Good video. Do you thing apple home pods are better than soundbar
As an early adopter of AppleTV I have accumulated several over time. The best thing about that is the AirPlay. Now I configure them with a tv the just move them as a speaker connected box for my garage, patio, kitchen etc and have whole home audio throughout the day
Does this work okay with Spotify?
How much did Apple pay you to record this video?
Because I am sold!
I’m thinking about getting an Apple TV however, I just bought a surroundsound system and now I’m thinking should I get the HomePod?
I have a normal tv planing to buy a 4k tv soon but I want to know should I buy an apple tv now or not
Good video can't wait to get mines soon
FYI, you can change the keyboard to a squared one instead of the long line of letters in the settings. First thing I did when I got an Apple TV.
I love playing on the AppleTV more then my Xbox x just like you love your appletv over your PS5
Can you watch tv channels through your Apple TV
