If you use a Dumbo X6FG Transmitter/Receiver, you can plug the single yellow wire into channel 5 in the receiver, and channel 5 is the left rotary button in the transmitter, you can actually still use the drag brake in non crawler mode from 0-100% by adjusting the channel 5 knob.

I got a Yeah Racing 25mm fan (the same size as the stock one) and it blows much more air which should also help with temperatures and efficiency. Got mine from Amazon and it fits in the fan casing. It also works with the stock powertrain if you want lower temperatures as well.

I've been curious about these fusion motors. Only seen them advertised for crawlers. But all the ratings I've read say they work great and have amazing power and low end crawler control.
Now I'm a novice and feel like every time I learn 1 thing, there's 3 more thing's wrong on 2 more cars and way too many different makes, models, gear sizes ,scale sizing, and not to mention how much false advertising you have to cautiosly wade through trying to find replacement parts,or alternate upgrades? I feel like a guppy in a lake full of whales.
But seem's to me that if these fusion motors can run that much more efficiant,it's only a matter of months before they'll figure out how to make these for 1/10-8 bashers and so on? Also looks to me that if you wanted, you have room for and could still retrofit a heatsink and fan to one of these fusion motors? But ,I really have no clue! I'm still trying to wrap my head around the esc no longer needing to be so large and cooled??? But it obviously works, right? So I'm more than sure that if they figured out brushless from brushed in 25+yrs,then from brushless to brushless fusion in around a decade, give or take a couple yrs? Anyway, they'll have them for 1/10 + bashers in a couple yrs time I'd bet? In fact I'd bet the ranch they're working on a prototype right now as they are beginning thier day,and we're finishing ours. I wish I could say that I thought there was a US manufacturure ,developer working on something like this! But we hardly make anything in this country anymore. Anywho, you're the most informative,in the know, guy on the net. You have extensive RC backround and connects! You da man, bro! So,what do you think?
I think it'll be quick! But Nobody is going to be able to afford them except the very well off. I'm guessing around $300.00 for 1/10 and increases with size like all things RC? By the time the average kid saves up that much, they often hit puberty,or just become disinterested and find other things to spend thier money on.

Hobby wing actually already has fusion motors for 1/10 scales. I put one in my raider XL build. You can check out that video. They're not actually that expensive. I wouldn't say they're necessarily more efficient than having a separate ESC and motor. Between limited space and limited cooling area they're actually probably a little less efficient but they certainly are space efficient! Check out the hobbywing fusion pro for what I used in the raider build.
