    Thank you for your informative video...you look amazing! I was on SW and only lost a bit but did keto and lost 15kg in 8 weeks but now that I’m more disciplined (I hope) I look forward to adopting a more realistic and healthier lifestyle such as SW...your information was very useful!     agree and knew about them all .. not a surprise when worked for sw for 20 years ! the one I used to get a lot from members transferring from other groups ( as I had stamped it out in my group ) is" I haven't lost weight as I haven't eaten enough "!!!! if you really think about it sensibility if you haven't eaten enough you wouldn't be having a weight gain ! so used to re phrase it for the members "you haven't lost weight as you haven't eaten enough of the RIGHT things and might of filled up on more of the high syn foods which could be smaller amount items . I really don't know where all these misconceptions come from and heard everyone you mentioned

    Such a fab video Nikki! It’s definitely cleared a few things up for me. I was sinning my healthy extras when I wasn’t having my full allowance, I’ve always felt guilty about not having a third speed say with a meal like beans on toast and I always thought you had to have all your healthy extras and would eat them even when I wasn’t hungry! Xx

    Loved this ..I've just home through the menopause, and I'm suffering from stiff joints. After many tests, scans, x rays etc, it's down to lack of oestrogen. My physio has suggested simple exercises to strengthen muscle around my joints. Just thought I'd mention this, in case any of your ladies are the same.
    Love how you translate things, so nice to listen to xx

    Hi Nikki really enjoyed the vlog. You are so good at explaining everything the tweaks the blending fruit etc I now get it finally lol. It makes total sense. The eating speed food on the plate. Stupidly I have been adding fruit after the meal for speed hence I've probably been adding on calories. Please keep doing these vlogs Nikki they help me so much so thank you 😁

    Thanks Nikki.....great advice especially about the healthy extra thought if I didn't have them I wasn't following it properly sometimes I save my b's for x2 alpen bar's or hifi's but find cos of lots of speed I'm full. Keep the advice coming can you do one on alcohol lots of people in my class say they never count it as its fluid....crazy as its still calories! 🤦🥂🍾

    Thanks for this, very handy! I have lost over 5 stone on Sw, once upon a time, 2 stone crept on, however, this time I've done the same thing and struggled, realised it's probably lack of activity wfh so have reduced portion sizes and taken on yoga..waiting to see the results..SW consultants need to make it clear on speeds and portions, my consultant as nice as she is, she always says to newcomers eat as much as you want but I think if there's awareness it would really help.

    I grated an apple onto my porridge and was told I shouldn’t do that but that I could chop it into small pieces. What’s the difference? It’s still 1 apple?

      exactly! load of tripe. Same with potatoes...you can cut them into chunks or chip shapes..eat as much as you want...BUT...if you slice them into crisp shapes..syn...garbage..its still a potato! it hasn’t morphed into a mars bar ffs!

    Great video I’m useless at slimming world but it’s the only plan I can follow but even when I’m 100% on plan I’m lucky if I lose half a pound :(

    Thank you Nikki. Regarding the Consultants getting awards/recognition for their group attendance. I didnt know that target members were not viewed the same as paying members. That now resonates with me as I have found the minute you get to target the consultant doesnt have the same interest.

      Hey lovely. Yes only paying members count towards paying totals. Target members are very very important, but once at target they don't necessarily need the same air time as those who pay and are still on their journey. I always bought target members in to help others. If they went out or range of course we would help. It's hard balancing the pace and timings of image therapy. That new target booklet I think is fantastic for supporting targets to stay there. If you ever need help though please make sure they know this xxx

      Target members are always very important in the group I go to - if they’re beautifully still in target range then our consultant doesn’t spend much image therapy time on them but always asks for their input in supporting other members and will always offer support if they need it. It’s brilliant having target members in group and I’ve often heard new members say ‘what are they doing SW for’ when they see someone slim and healthy in the queue and so it’s good to remind them that when you get to target it’s important to keep attending to keep yourself at target and be an inspiration for others.

    Loved the first assumption! I have kidney problems and about 5 months into my journey, I was told I had to go on a low potassium diet. Which limits so much fruit and veg 😢 never thought I’d be sad about not having less fruit and veg 😂 I’m only allowed 3 very small portion of fruit or veg a day (ie 1 small portion is the equivalent of 3 cherry tomatoes). So with that being said I’ve still lost 5 stone on slimming world. Admittedly, I did struggle with the change at first but hasn’t hindered my journey 💕💕

    Hi Nikki 👋🏼 the frozen veg saga was a bit of a pain, it’s because no branded items have the ‘s’ symbol on the app so members were questioning that ‘ASDA frozen peas’ were not speed but if you search ‘frozen peas’ unbranded still show as a speed food, members were panicking 😂 id just managed to calm them down, then nuggatgate started 🙈

    Brilliant video Nikki. I always love your vids. I joined you as a sworlder over on Instagram when I started my weight loss journey 3 years ago. I lost 8 stone and have been at target 18 months, following all these principles. Now I enjoy all your content but I am loving the sw stuff recently. Going to sharr this on my group fb page. Xx

      I don’t think you realise the impact your account has on people. When I started sw I was at rock bottom and the weight loss I had ahead seemed the biggest mountain to climb. However accounts like yours inspired and motivated me daily. Thank you 😘 xxx

    During new member talk our consultant said If you can eat as much free food then how do you lose weight, let me tell you the magic is the third of plate speed food ( those was her words). I’m shocked if at anytime I couldn’t have speed food I felt so guilty.

    Please tell me if I have couscous with a bit of free yoghurt and fruit why its a tweak, it’s not changing texture but I can have it on a salad and it’s free. I could understand if you were grinding it up to make a couscous cake. Do you ever syn it? Pudding rice is also a free food so when would this be considered a tweak ?

      Sorry just watched your vid all way through - I only have 30g of couscous which is what it says on packet - doesn’t make sense it’s a tweak though when the app says its free and you aren’t changing its texture

      If you weigh it and are losing weight and eat it with speed food go for it.

    I know that syns are optional but the book says, "5 to 15" a day. This has often led to people insisting that you have to have at least 5 syns a day or you're not doing the plan properly. I know that is incorrect, so, I have often wondered why Slimming World say "5 to 15 syns" instead of "0 to 15."

      I think it’s because it’s recommended that you still need a certain amount of fat in your daily diet,so they recommend at least five syns a day. They also encourage healthy syns instead such as avacado and nuts like Nikki mentioned. However you don’t have to have any so it’s your choice:)

      If you don't have a little flexibly with syns for mayo or sauce or a little glass of wine you may feel your on a diet rather than a new healthy life style..

    I sometimes think fitbits don’t help some people as they see how many calories they’ve burnt and think it’s ok to have a treat or eat more carbs because they are hungry post workout.
