Evil Filter vs Germanium Filter

- Death By Audio makes so many incredible and unique pedals. Germanium Filter has been first in my chain for ages and now I'm setting it next to Evil Filter to see how they compare. Spoiler alert: Evil Filter is physically much bigger than Germanium Filter.
Was very fun panning my computer monitors back and forth. Awesome way to demo two pedals! I was particularly interested in the Germanium, filtering synth, and here you are.
I'm gonna make a dirty Rhodes out of my DX7. Thank you subbed!
Oh hey awesome! Thanks. :) The DX7 as Rhodes is a cool idea. I'm often using the most non-threatening EP sounds and seeing what happens when pedals bring the filth. It's really fun. I love the Germanium Filter. Mine is modded with a volume pot on the side because it's DBA and it can get nuclear loud.😀
Man these sound great! Nice playing too! Especially that last two mins or so 🔊🥰
thanks man!🥰
I came to see which I wanted. But because of what you did with the panning now I want both....
Hey thanks! You really can''t go wrong with anything DBA. Germanium Filter is probably the more reasonable of the two (so it's the one I use more) but Evil Filter is just wild and it sounds phenomenal on bass and lead types of things. 😀
Amazing! I want to run drum machines and synths through these too :-) Which one should I get to start with? or both? ;-)
Oh that's a tough choice. I think if you are doing one thing at a time like a bass drum or mono synth, Evil Filter is very rad and it has more adjustments with resonance etc.... Germanium Filter does better with polyphonic stuff for sure and can still sound monstrous.

Wow thanks! Huge compliment. Also I could totally see him rocking DBA stuff. It’s fantastic pretty much without fail.
Would a bass guitar work on those filters?
I feel like bass would be ideal with them. They add lots of warmth and bite, and you can use the filter to tailor what frequencies are audible so you don't crowd out the guitar etc...
how is it stereo?
I'm sending a stereo signal out from my DAW and running the left channel into Evil Filter and the right channel into Germanium Filter, then recording it stereo as well. I was sorta picturing that you could listen on headphones and hear the differences between them that way. :)
I get it! Sounds sick, really cool stereo effect!@@basementlyle

No audio
Really? I just tried it on a few different browsers and on a phone and audio was present. I wonder what's happening.
